Acrylic Pouring Blooms Technique Inspirational Tutorial Video.

In this video I wanted to create a fun blooms transfer on a canvas that has been calling to me. I hope this video is helpful and inspiring for you and you enjoy watching this half as much as I enjoyed creating it!

Glidden Premium Base 1 Pure White in Satin: Found at Home Depot
Pouring Medium Mix Used:
Base - Valspar Ultra High Gloss Base C: Found at Lowe’s (In Canada it’s called Valspar Hi Gloss Enamel Base C)
Varnish - Varathane Ultimate Polyurethane Water in Crystal Clear Gloss: Found at Home Depot, Menards, Ace Hardware, Walmart, Michaels, Amazon or google it
PM Mixed 3:1 Base/Varnish
Acrylic Paints Used:
Jo Sonja Black Umber
Matisse Flow Australian Red Violet
Golden Heavy Body Permanent Violet Dark
Pebeo Studio Acrylics Iridescent Blue Black
Liquitex Basics Light Blue Permanent & Fluorescent Pink
Vallejo Fluid Acrylic Fluorescent Pink
PM to Paint measurement (ESTIMATE!):
1.5oz (45ml) PM to between 1/4 tsp (1.25ml) to a 1/2 tsp (2.5ml) paint to start (for heavy body paints). If too thin or needs more color add a little more paint (or even a gel gloss), if too thick add a little more PM to thin more.

Is your necklace ok? I kept saying, "Jodie, your necklace!" as you were blowing it out and it was swinging so perilously close to the pillow paint and then into the paint it went on the second bloom. Ack! Is the Larimer ok? Yeah, yeah, beautiful color combo, excellent shimmer, love the ribbons, fabulous piece, but Jodie, your necklace! Santa won't bring you more jewelry if you don't take care of what you have! 🎅 Thank you for sharing this harrowing experience. My heart can't take much more of the suspense. Haha. Oh Jodie you outdid yourself on this one!! I absolutely love these colors together I would have loved to see more of the blue maybe as a pillow color but it's absolutely stunning I just loved so many parts of it!! Oh I have an idea I'd like your input on how I could accomplish doing it. I want half of a bloom on one side and to pick up the other half and do a transfer with it on the other side but I'm afraid if I do that I'll pick up all the pillow from the half of the bloom I want to turn into a transfer. Any ideas? I think this would look soo cool having half a floating bloom and half a bloom transfer. HELP!! Your work always amazes me and this one was next level for me!! Absolutely perfect 🥰🤗🎨

Thank you my dear I’m so glad you enjoyed this one 🤗 I so love these transfers 🤗. Just start experimenting and see how you would go about it, the technique may be something unexpected as you play with your paint. You may even find something different you like 💜💜

@@ThePaintedDreamer I'm all about experiments lol I just have this picture in my mind of a half floating bloom and the other half distorted and having lots of movement like the flower is decaying or something I can't quite explain my vision but I'm going to work on it and see what comes of it.

Thank you so much Magdalene 🤗 I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I don’t mix anything with my pillow no, I use it right from the can but some do add a bit of GAC 800 or even US floetrol if they find it too thick so that is an option. If you find it thin I’ve heard of others leaving the whole can open for a day or two to allow the paint to thicken with the exposed air. Hope this helps 🤗

I had to add floetrol to my pillow, because I was finding it too thick and wouldn't move on the canvas

You can add US floetrol or GAC 800 is another one that works if you find your pillow paint too thick 😊
