Hi there, thanks for this video! I'm amazed at how many Camaros you're working on, seemingly simultaneous. Absolutely great work. Love to watch things evolve. I just yesterday found two original 1967 hood grilles in the pile of parts that came with my car.

Nice work Pete. Good info on those rubber bushings for radiator. Fortunately I kept my old core support and was able to figure out where those bushings go after scratching my head while putting in new support and installing radiator. Look forward to more on the many Camaro projects you are are waist deep in. lol

You don’t have enough space in you’re garage. The same Problem like I have here in Germany. Great to see you’re perfect working.

If I have a 1968 Camaro SS and want to add the hideaway lights...do I need to change the front end or can I just add a valence so that the car will have turn signals? Thanks
@digitalpizza1

Hi Rex In addition to the lower valance, the fenders are different also. There is an extra bracket on the inside of the fenders where the headlight doors bolt up to. Unless you can figure out a way to provide a mounting bracket to the non RS fenders, you will have to replace the fenders to do it properly.

I believe it could have the bow tie on the mirror. I could be wrong, but I think there is a picture of Pete Estes standing next to an rs and the mirror has a bow tie. I’ll try and find it and confirm.

Thanks Rick I would appreciate that. Jerry Macniech told me it wasn’t correct when he certified the car. But it would be interesting to know for sure

@@digitalpizza1 confirmed! I went back to my 40 Years of Camaro book, and the picture is there and I verified with a magnifying glass that the car does have a bow tie mirror. I think that’s why I went ahead and bought the bow tie mirror for my car way back now that I think of it.

Thanks Rick That is great I always thought it had the bow tie, especially the early cars (mine is a December 66 car) I am happy :)

@@digitalpizza1 my pleasure. I tried to see if there was a circa date stamp on the picture but there isn’t. I would have to assume that since it is a 67 Camaro and Pete Estes is standing with it, it’s probably an early publicity picture, so you should be in good shape. Also, if it turns out that you should have the plain flat mirror, it’s no big thing to swap. Great stuff as always, looking forward to more on this car and the red 1969.

why use repo parts???
@digitalpizza1
@digitalpizza1 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Rob, I agree with your question and always choose to use nice OEM or NOS parts when I can. I only use repo parts when the particular part is a perfect reproduction. not all repo parts are good and I will not use those items. But things like the items I show in this video are excellent reproductions. Some are even produced by the original manufacturers that made them in the first place. The fact is that there are a lot of 100 point cars out there that have many reproduction parts on them and are excepted by judges and other experts as legit alternatives to 50+ year old rotten and extremely rare to find as NOS parts. And as time goes by, will be almost impossible. So I for one am glad that there are good high quality reproduction parts out there to keep these cars alive, which is the main objective in the first place. Thank you for your comment and support.
