Beautiful car and perfect color for it. When I look at the luxurious interior it makes me sad at what passes for luxury in todays cars.

My dad brought that cars twin in 1972 and traded it in for a 1975 when we found out there was not going to be any more Imperials made.

I had a 2 door 73 with white vinyl top and high back leather seats. Safest car I ever had. I wish I still did.

The front grille and headlights are matched perfectly, you hardly see the gaps on the hidden headlight doors.

4:54 My Mark III had belts like that. I was probably the first and only one to even use it.

I had a 72 Buick Electra and I wore the belts in it- both the lap and shoulder. All my friends thought I was nuts for buckling up, but the belts probably saved my life on night in a head on collision.

It's got leather..... but sadly, no vent windows (which were optional). Such windows greatly reduce interior air turbulence & noise.

My gold 73 was near identical but with the vent windows, all my 74-74 Imp and 767778 NY Broughams had vents too

In 1971 the rear deck badge said,for the first time, " IMPERIAL by Chrysler". It appears to be a Chrysler Imperial Lebaron.

Gary Peacher yes, after 1970 within Chrysler is was no longer a separate marque

bigjoe330 From the www.allpar.com " The top of the line for Chrysler, as usual, was the Imperial; what was new was the loss of the Imperial brand. For the first time since 1954, the big luxury yacht was a Chrysler Imperial rather than simply an Imperial. "

nope, 1970 was the last year bud.
@andrewarmstrong73106 жыл бұрын
Actually, Chrysler's image was tarnished once again in 1972 by rotting cars, namely the late 60's B-bodies. They almost never recovered from the 1957 model year and the use of Japanese steel following US Government suggestions to help jump-start the Japan steel industry. I think it was Chairman and CEO John Riccardo who suggest Imperial by Chrysler to let the world know Chrysler made the Imperial after a decade of keeping it biter separate. Imperial never suffered any major defects or recalls the entire production run. Lincoln and Cadillac cannot say that.
@TheItsmegp466 жыл бұрын
Until 1954 Imperial was just another step up from the Chrysler line up. Then Chrysler decided to spin off Imperial as its own division. The problem with the marketing of the Imperial line starting with the 1955 model is that they never received stand alone dealerships like Cadillac had. They were still sold right next to Chrysler's loss leader car, the Windsor with its rubber floor, cotton and nylon seats and virtually no standard equipment. Imperial even still looked like a Wiindsor, with the same body shape just different front and rear and the dashboard was exactly the same. So you really can't blame people for still referring to the car as a Chrysler Imperial, simple because a real disconnect was never made.
