8 Weeks Winter Camping - Week 6 In Tent, New Noisy Neighbours

Camping in my tent again to continue my schooling for gas fitting. Set up camp and some new camera shy/noisy neighbors pulled up. They ended up settling down for the night so I was able to finally hunker down. Fired up the wood stove, made some smokies, and a quick tour of some gear and filming equipment I am using.

I know I comment on your videos alot saying supportive stuff, but I just want you to know how much my wife enjoys these videos as well, and she's never been into camping or anything, and I think that that just goes to show how much of a genuine, kindhearted human being you come across as. You're a great person Steve, and millions of us across the internet are learning more from you than we did our own father's. We (meaning the internet as a whole) love you buddy, dont ever forget that, even in dark times.❤️

@campingwithsteve
@campingwithsteve 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Rufus! Ya, that smokie recipe was an accident one day when there was a fire ban and all we had to cook them was a thin pan with a propane stove. The pan got a hot spot and was burning parts of the smokies, so we poured beer in to “boil” them. In the end it turned out to be the best fire ban in history.

Hey Steve, I was watching a Slim Potatohead video about the wood stove he has for his Aliner trailer. He goes on to explain that he uses a thin Titanium Foil for his Stovepipe.It rolls up to approximately 12 inches, and when unrolled it is long enough to penetrate to the outside. He uses Steel hoops to hold it in the roundness required to do the job. Takes LESS room. Just saying, also, love yer vids.

Now I have a question about this one.....In the beginning he's commenting on the noisy neighbors then in the tent he has bruises on his right brow and on his left cheek. Do you think he had a run in with the neighbors?? Or what? He must have face planted somewhere somehow. Any ideas?

The valve on the little bottle is to relieve pressure if over filled. Put the bottle in the freezer for 1/2 hr before you fill. Works great. BTW on amazon you can find full bottles for 2 for $10.00.

You rock Steve. I'm hooked and continue to wonder why I watch these videos. So far all I can come up with is... I really really really need to get a life : ) or maybe just a video camera. I also find it weird that I read the comments mainly to get bummed out that there are so many a-holes on this planet. I do like the fact that there seems to be more 'good' peeps then bad. Finally... I notice the same questions over and over (tent brand, stove brand, job, your not homeless, paypal link, etc) and suggest you add the 'facts' in the "description" area of your videos. Keep up the good 'work'.

Hey Steve, what did you mean when you said the other guy was trying to " Pan Handle " the new guys ? Does that mean " Grubbing " asking for stuff ? If so, that's so funny !!! What was he asking you for ??? I see you have a Copper pan, I just bought my first one. It's called the Red Copper Pan and it's Incredible !!! No stick, impossible to scratch with a fork or knife, impossible to burn, food just slides right off, even burnt cheese !! I did every test on it that they did on TV. Anyway, another great video of course, 1 1/2 weeks left 🙌👍👍👍👍

Oh yes, he was begging for beers, money, food, etc, I usually help him with what I have to spare, but he got the loud guys hiding out in their vans for the night! That pan is the same one I’m using, I love it. Works just like the commercials, I did manage to get some stuff burned onto it though when I used it on a hot campfire, but I’m sure a quick spray of oven cleaner will take care of that. Used it for 6 weeks camping now and no scratches! Thanks for tagging along on my journey and the awesome comments!

@@campingwithsteve From watching your vids, I'm actually planning to do a stealthy overnighter in a state park in the US probably tomorrow night or the next night. Going to take my RV as a base to an established campground and then hike out on some old trails that aren't maintained anymore to an old boyscout campsite that's also no longer maintained with my pack and test out my new solo gear and stealthiness...lol. A little nervous since hunting season opened, but should be okay.

I really like your videos Man I think it's cool that you would go do this in the winter time. I was going to touch on your wood pellets I would almost imagine that your hardwood pellets are about 90% cottonwood, While most people do not I think that it is Cottonwood is a hardwood but it burns quick and is very plentiful cheap to use for making pellets, glad to see you finally learn to use that damper in that flue that makes a big difference and how much would you use. Too bad they don't have any good old Kansas hedge wood, that stuff Burns forever, keep up the cool videos I'll keep watching
