Don't always need a hard working man for a good relationship. For example. A man being disabled and on disability while the woman works, is no different than when the woman is disabled and on disability while the man works. @Tacy Merchant you did not pay attention to the stepfather, he said the boy was allowed to see his mother. The boy knew that he owed the stepfather and did not want to pay the loan off. The boy many never grow up and be a man he should be. He will stay the little boy as long as his relatives enable him to be dependent on others. The stepfather is a good man.

Right or wrong, that shouldn’t stop him from doing the right thing regarding his mom and stepfather. Regretting that he did not step up and do the right thing before it’s too late. I don’t believe he’s going to pay his stepfather even though he owes and should, but that still is no reason to not have a relationship with his mom was my point..

EXACTLY! If someone needs money it's because they don't have it. I don't understand these people that expect repayment from people that didn't have money in the first place. I've helped friends out when they were in need. I knew that I wasn't getting that money back and that's okay. They have all told me they would pay me back (1 has paid me back a couple times which made my day because she always writes the nicest notes with her checks), but I never expect them to.
