The whole "Silk Degrees" album is great. Remember when it came out in 1976. It has a bluesy sound to it. Two of his most famous songs from that album are "Lowdown" & "Lido Shuffle". Some other songs are "It's Over", "What Can I Say", "We're All Alone", "Harbor Lights", "Jump Street" etc.

It thrills my heart to no end to see people rediscovering great music. We have been missing it for so long.

Miss Monet and Barbara Wilson are his superb backups at this show and they are precious! Make sure you see what they do at the end of "Look What You've Done To Me". Yes, this is a “perfect” album, great from start to finish. Some great slow songs too. This was the album to play at a party back in the day, and if you couldn’t get laid after grooving on it with your girl…

Ace! You just hit musical pay dirt. Silk Degrees IMHO is one of the best albums of all time, no bad/filler songs. Try Lido Shuffle next or maybe Harbor Lights. This album and Boz is kind of a center point of musical greatness. Boz came from The Steve Miller Band (Steve taught Biz to play guitar) The Joker is a SMB song. This album is 1976 so predates what you were referring to. From this album, Boz’s co-writer and two more players formed Toto, Africa and Rosanna are a couple of their top hits. So it’s a musical journey if you want to partake. There’s a lot here. Boz is still performing and some recent stuff and live stuff, is on KZfaq. Enjoy the ride and awesome reaction, I live for these. Silk Degrees is very worth a deep dive....go for it!

Low Down was originally a last minute/ filler track on the album Silk Degrees. It is proof that a producer can make or break a song/album. In this case the producer saw/ heard something more than what the band had come up with. He added the strings and jazz flute accents which not only made this the lead single, it crossed over from pop radio to r&b soul stations/ charts. My favorite Scaggs song is "Look What You've Done to Me".

I was about 20 when this came out. I'm 66 now. Still sounds great.

My favorite There is a great live version of the song out there. You should try and find it, it is really cool.

Back in the day on radio, songs could only be so long. Thus, there were often single versions and album versions. It had to do with advertising. There had to be commercial breaks every certain number of minutes. Every minute of airtime had to be accounted for.

He was outstanding right from his early days and probably had 4 or 5 successful albums before this one.. He went to England (Europe) for a while and was a big hit their as well. This album is one of his greats, but he has done some really good ones of late as well. How about his early works "Moments" and his "Slow Dancer" albums. You should seek out a cut of Boz Scaggs with Booker T & the MG's Featuring Steve Cropper & Boz Scaggs doing a song called "As the Years go Passing by" you will add it to your favorites as well.

Excellent musicianship on this track. Jeff Pocaro on drums-a master drummer, David Hungate on bass, David Paich on keyboard and the amazing guitar solos by the excellent session player Louis Shelton and Boz’s amazing voice makes it a stellar track

I also love Marvin Gaye’s amazing rise to 1970s pop-sphere of billboard fame because like Boz the blues and jazz elements are nonstop and the horn ensembles make me so happy❤
