I discussed the different types of Scoliosis curve, the C- curve and S curve and how to stretch each curve depending on which side is your Scoliosis. If you don't know what type and shape and side your scoliosis is, make sure you see a doctor, chiro and a physical therapist to evaluate you as well you could also try the Slump test which could be seen online on how to see the hump on your back, The best way to know is to get an X-ray of your spine and to measure the angle of your scoliosis and it is called the Cobb's Angle. However, if your Scoliosis is more than 45 degrees angle with difficulty breathing and it causes problems with your functional tasks, i recommend to see a doctor and sometimes unfortunately surgery is one of the option. These exercises will helps strengthen, improve posture and improve the flexibility of your spine and both lower extremities and will be noticeable on your stance and functional tasks if done correctly daily for at least a month. will Do a follow along program soon with the progression from these 5 gentle exercises Beginner's program.

IF you are a C -curve to the right, then follow the instruction to stretch to the left and strengthen it in a lengthen position and slowly stretch out the tight areas.

been doing yoga pilates atleast those not so difficult movements for over 3 weeks now,and OMG I couldn't be more happier less less way less pain in my back and I look and stand taller.

At first all muscle were tight specially on the sides where the curvature is,but right now it is almost gone.I can do about 2 hours 4 to 6 times a week

I'm curious if this actually reduces curve? I know there are many options out there besides surgery...especially with all the new medical things we come out with these days. I have a hard time surgery is the only way to fix/and or correct spine. I do get self conscious about my body. Like one hip sticks out more/one side more curvy and other side straight. Hate it. I know it sounds cosmetic like but there is a pain to it too physically. My spine is in the 20's curve.

I do it slowly to not press the necesito. Because if I twist the neck too much ih happen that it hurts. The same if I lean to the side without holding the neck during the exercise

Its a BIG help! But im not sure if im on the right side or left side curve because i dont understand what the japanese doctor said 😅. Can you please enlighten me which side? My right shoulder blade is much visible than my left so as my right ribs.

You are right C curve then , when you do a slump test If there is a rib hump on the right side ST the back then you are a C curve right

Good evening Ms Annie. I'm a new subscriber and base on my xray I have a rightward curvature of the thoracic spine with angle of 23 degrees and a leftward curvature of 28 degrees. Can I still able to fix it with spinal stretching that you're doing?

However could you kindly clarify the following: If you scroll through your comments in this video by someone called “Kavitha” , they said they had the SAME type of curve with context side on left as me, but you replied “Kavitha so when doing the exercises do the lean towards the right.” Im hence quite confused- did you happen to misread Kavitha's expressed curved when you replied then?

Hi Annie. I am a new subscriber. I was searching what mild thoracic dextroscoliosis is when I came across your videos. I love the explanation and illustrations - makes it easy to understand. I recently had my PA Xray done and found out I have "thoracic spine slightly deviated to the right." Would it be okay to do these stretches / exercises on both the left and right since mine is still on the mild side? Or would it be better to do ones for the right first to hopefully correct my spine alignment? I also saw your video about the sleeping position. I'll make sure to follow that. :) Thank you for making these videos!

Try both sides initially then slowly add a few extra reps away from your concave side , so your concave is your left side so try opening your left side more and lean towards the right . Hope best of health .

Yes but focus on the upper trunk and scapular stretch on the top of the s curve concave then the lumbar hip area opposite of the concave area to stretch. .

I believe I got scoliosis from the hpv shot but yeah I have scoliosis sadly Edit: I got scoliosis after I got the hpv shot and scoliosis doesn’t run in my family

Heeey Annieee, Ive been feeling weell with this day 1 exercise, I noticed that my posture changed a bit making it good rather than slouching, also I wanted to clarify something, since I had scoliosis series check and the radiologist stated that "mild midthoracic dextroscoliosis seen with an angle of 12 degeas, which was corrected to 0 degrees on right bending. The Cobb's angle slightly increased on left bending to 14 degeees. Their impression was "midthoracic dextroscoliosis" but for my observation, I noticed that my right leg is longer than my left leg, then my left rib protrudes than the other, then my right arm raises than the other, and my right waist is curvier than the left waist, like it felt my body goes sideways more to my Leff than right, I just want to clarify do I really have dextroscoliosis? Since if I do have, my body should go at the right side more right? I hope youget to answer my question since it confuses ne which side to turn and afraid thatmaybe im making my scolio worse huhuhu thank youin advance Annie!! Also I noticed that when Im doing the mermaid stretch, I feel comfortable and more flexible bending towards my right. Then when im bending towards my left i feel uncomfortable like I can't breathe well, its hard to breathe, i wonder what's your insight with that? Connected to the result of my scoliosis series?

Yes you have the Dextroscoliosis which means your convex side is your right and it Will definitely correct that your pelvis on your right whole be lower that creates the ikli soon of longer right leg even though it is your pelvis lower so it is a functional leg length discrepancy . And then the left side Will be the concave side which means it Will be tight and weak . Your right side Will be elongated but also weak in a lengthen position .

@@millenz which means you have to open your left side more , so for example when you do the Child pose you twist your trunk more towards the right to open your concave side . On mermaid position , you can do both sides but when you lift your arms overhead Try to lean more towards the right TO open UP your left concave side . @@AnniePilatesPhysicalTherapist i have c curve i guess( convexity on the left ) i have very mild scoliosis and i have no pain.my main concern is my asymmetrical face..is this going to help my face ?
