Asian Market Haul // VEGAN

I picked up a few fun ingredients from the Asian market this week! Everything was quite affordable and, of course, 100% vegan.

ThoseKorean rice cakes are called, 'Duk' and they're amazing fried or boiled with gochujang (sweet red pepper paste), tofu, green onion and sesame seeds. When I go to the Asian markets I always grab picked mustard greens, green tea with roasted brown rice, shiitakes and potato starch. All super versatile. Great video!

TheHayley911 we have very similar tastes! I love Genmaicha(green tea with roasted rice) and mustard greens! Specially with Taro Cakes or Radish Cakes, which are usually in the frozen yumcha/dim sum area.

Love Asian markets (and Asian food in general). Way back when it was the only place that I could find soy milk

The ingredients you picked up look pretty similar to my asian market hauls. I love those fried soybean cakes. I love to put them in an asian style soup and when you bite into it, it pops with juice and flavor. I would love to see some of the recipes you come up with from these ingredients. I'm excited to see how you make your sushi and sushi bowls as well. I also have that same mushroom stir fry sauce and keep it on hand for quick dinners when I'm pressed for time, it's pretty good. Love your videos and can't wait to see more!

To get authentic S Korean recipes, watch Maangchi. She is an excellent cook and quite famous in the cooking world on YT. She is very sweet and funny and also has a cookbook she put out last year. She is the real thing. Good Luck!!

wildheart5 but she Maangi isn't vegan although you can find some vegan recipes from her.

patty 8873 yeah but her vegan recipes are gorgeous! Especially her vegetarian Bulgogi recipe (minus the honey and add vegan apple honey). I lover her vegan gamjajeon and her vegan baek-kimchi! (: 🌱🌱🌱

patty 8873 you can just replace the non-vegan ingredients with vegan ones. I have done it a few times and it was always good.

Asian markets are everywhere where I live even our grocery stores have an aisle or 2 of Asian food.

for the fried tofu you can soak it in water till it's soft then squeeze out the excess oil.

Hey Sarah, just to let y know that I used to buy that coconut milk from ... It tasted like cornstarch and oil slurry. Now I buy the kind they sell at Sam's and Costco, if you have a membership. they are far better than any kind, or thing in the world, the best in the world, nice and thick and creamy and sweet delicate, not too sweet that will make you sick, naturallysweet coconut milk that is out of this world for such a small nominal price. I hope y would try it. I used to buy the other kind, but I trew it all in the sink, after discover how they taste. I hope that I don't get in trouble for saying it. after all that's why I didn't.

Shoot, I wish I watched this yesterday. I went to my local market and there were a couple things you mentioned that would be nice to have in my pantry. Anywho, thanks for the video!
