The greatest thing that has come out of this is the absolutely flood of people that are going over to SPT, especially after Klean streamed it. Those guys are the REAL heroes of Tarkov.

Cheaters are also on fire bro.... they are coordinating attacks to any user logged on a raid with any Unheard identifier (armband, knife, radio, or whatever you need to be disclosed as a Unheard edition player). Insta headshot from the other side of the map, no matter what.

BSG has no ground to stand on for the simple fact that people have already paid $150 for an all-inclusive package (EoD). $150 is already more than you would ever have to pay a AAA game company for their base game and all DLC. The game isn't released yet, so therefore, they are taking money earned for building the base game and using it to build DLC. They are using consumer money to develop and sale more parts of a game that isn't even done..... The game isn't finished at all. The game doesn't even run smooth for top-tier machines. The game doesn't have diverse gameplay (you rinse and repeat every raid). The game arguably has the worst cheating problems. Yet they offer more pay-to-win and standard game features locked behind a $250 pay wall.

I uninstalled yesterday. After 4+ years of supporting this game (EOD), getting multiple friends to purchase EOD, the fact that they would spit on their player base like this, and probably break multiple laws, it is way too much. I will never support Tarkov or any BSG product again.

The big difference for pay-to-win in Tarkov compared to other games, is that when a player in Tarkov pays-to-win, other players lose. In Star Citizen your experience isn't drastically altered by how much other players spend on the game. But in Tarkov, when an Unheard edition owner calls in his squad to kill you, you *lose* because he spent more money than you.

I don’t understand why anyone would buy the unheard edition if they want the PvE mode when SPT exists for free, and you can use mods with SPT to customize the game anyway you want. Unless you really want the single player mode with co-op and you’re willing to spend $250 for that feature. Not to mention the people who make SPT (and the mods) are super cool people and genuinely always want to make the experience better based on everyone’s feedback!

Every advantage is P2W. Simple. If you buy stash size and gamma you don't have to spend your next 15 mil in upgrading stash. So the 15 mil roubles go into PVP gear....while the Standard Acc timmy will have to come with a paca because he needs to get 15 mil to upgrade stash. The unheard edition gets a 7 mil worth of even more items that a player would have bought..meaning another 7 mil can go into PVP instead of Stash... Weapon Case (6mil) Lucky Scav Junk box (500k or 1 mil...cannot remember) Ammo Case (250k) Ultimately, having all the editions basically take out all the struggle that tarkov had at one point until you reached high lvl traders. Now you do not have that struggle because you have all the items and the inventory you need to get the traders to high level. Great Pogcast. Loved it

Talking on Gray Zone... i feel like the thing the helicopter system needs is a method to 'clear the LZ' before landing. Whether its giving players a mounted weapon to do it themselves, or rev up those Little Bird mini guns from MW2 and just let the heli AI clear the enemy players nearby.

This wipe was the first time I've gone all in on Tarkov. I haven't played any other games. I just got my first epsilon container & I was planning to keep going. I have every item for collector except John B glasses. After this I might have to hang it up though... No gameplay experience is worth supporting a world where arrogance, lies, & betrayal win... 😢 My first shiny new epsilon feels empty & dirty rn... I might give Stalker Gamma a try.

Do Not Buy: From a guy who has the disposable income and the desire to play single player tarkov without modding it: Even in 'PVE Mode' it is entirely possible (if not likely, in my personal experience) to spend 10 to 20 minutes "matching" to find a server to host the single player game. I've owned the edition since its launch and haven't played more than 3 seconds of a raid. When queing solo I have never made it into a raid because 15 minutes of my free hour during the day is spent matching for my 100 dollar single player game. The one raid I made it into (joined a party of other brand new players, idk if being in a party helps queue time or not, but seeing the server state I reckon it does) and I was killed by the group leader right after racking the bolt on my mp5 in the spawn animation. It's not like I had high hopes for this shit, and I considered the money spent a gamble with BSG anyway, but I -the player and 'top-tier' financial supporter of BSG's hopes and desires for their game- feel completely taken advantage of. To release a $100 upgrade over the original end-all-be-all version, with a highly desired feature, and not even have it in working condition? Shit sure does stink

I am 2 minutes into the cast and hearing that Veritas hadn't heard the news makes me so hyped to watch this. LET'S GO! Edit: The drink machine/buffet analogy is perfect! Edit 2: I GOT THE REFERENCE VERITAS!

Thought Experiment: You paid 150$ for EoD half a decade ago (that's more than 2x the average price of new video games on market right now if you take the average to be 70$ so you paid for more than 2 games worth for a half ass game) and here is the kicker they want another 100$ just cuz (or 250$ if you want to buy in to the game as a new player).

Out of 200 episodes I think I might have been looking forward to this one the most and I'm super glad that Veritas saved his initial thoughts for the show

Greyzone raid idea: FOB turrets, minefield, sirens. As you said turrets are manned by AI with increasing accuracy, maybe some mortars/mounted GLs aswell. Loot cannot be stashed by the faction members, but every "friendly item" picked incurs some kind of discount/currency at the traders. Regarding the raid mechanic itself, if the FOB wipe is successful, PPL no longer respawn for a good 15-20 minutes and some faction bonuses like trader discounts or special items become available(faster helis, more helicopters available, etc). The benefits are active for a good 1-2 hours maybe more so people have time to RTB, have a coffee, spread the tale of the raid and benefit from its rewards. It is crucial in this case that the benefits outlast the lockout time, so these can be used against the raided faction, and the time of the lockout is not too long, but the time of the rewards is not too short. Also we have to consider a limited headcount or a fixed reinforcement count when a FOB raid occurs. As soon as the turrets start blasting and the sirens are on, it's CODE RED, airspace locked, nobody goes in or out. Feedback?

omg i hope they talk about the damn bigger pockets! You can farm bosses and put mags in there and for stuff like setup and quests where u have to wear a scav vest are going to be so much easiser, you could also do naked runs with meds and more nades ect

To be honest all of it should have been considered DLC the extended stash size the clothes all the unheard edition stuff it's all DLC. BSG realizes that a 1.0 release will not add any new players therefore they need to milk the remaining player base for as much money as possible. Also I don't believe that battle state games will support escape from tarkov more than one year after the release

Okay, now take your whole discussion about the new package / price point / whatever, and try reframing it in these terms: (WHAT IF) BSG is out of money. When they shifted to Arena last year, it was because they knew that they didn't have enough runway to make Tarkov fly. Because at the start they decided to sell "lifetime" beta accounts, they don't have as much of a reliable stream of income. They were thinking a couple of years tops, now it has been 6 years that many have been playing (I am on 4 years). Keeping the servers up and all has been expensive. So knowing they didn't have enough left in the tank to get the game to 1.0 (and the open world and all that stuff) they started to work desperately on Arena. The idea was a new game that they could sell to every existing Tarkov player for an extra $50 or so... sell a half a million copies, you have 25 million cash to work with. it was a great plan, but then they got DLC'ed. The vast majority of the player base of Arena (if you can call it that) have been the EOD types. BSG made some cash from people upgrading to get it, but generally they gave it away for very little, and now have to maintain it, give it servers and so on. They made the Tarkov runway even shorter instead of buying a bunch of time. Nikita was truly pissed and that is why EOD went away so quickly after that disaster. Shortly after that, we got the "road to 1.0" Tarkov TV where Nikita made it clear they were cutting out all sorts of things (including multiple maps) to push the game to release. That short runway means they were in a hurry. But no matter the hurry, they basically have run out of runway to get this thing off the ground. Solution? find a way to scrape at least $100 or more off of every player and even more from the non EoD types... bang out even 100k copies, and you got 10 million more or less to play with - instant runway add on. The hope was that nobody with EoD would notice that the PvE mode was a DLC. So using the "what if" above, consider everything that has happened in the last 6 months. it makes a lot more sense. So given all that, BSG are desperately trying to finish a 1.0. They need to do all the nice stuff for beginners, they need to have an actual way to escape, etc. So there is likely one more map (Terminal, I gather) that will be the way out. They will set a bunch of things, and have a reasonable (but still broken game) that they can sell for a price - or better still sell at a very low price for the license, and then charge $20 per wipe / season whatever you want to call it. Let people pre-pay for two wipes a year, and go from there. Every wipe, add something else in to help justify the costs, and call it even. I am sure that most Tarkov players would be happy to toss $40-50 a year to the game if the servers are consistent, the AI get smarter, and so on. They would also be very smart to take Arena out behind the shed and shoot it. I am sure they are losing their asses on it.

Me and my bro love playing practice games and just meeting at Dorms or wherever for some casual 1v1 games. Now, to be able to play practice games with our standard account friend, we ALL have to buy this new version...
