Thanks for taking the time to do an in depth review of this heater for us. Perhaps you can plan to do a review of the controller and detailed info on all the settings, including the engineer settings & codes. I'm in the USA and have had this heater for about 3 weeks. I performed most of what I felt were important mods before I even fired it up the 1st time. These include installing the better white fuel lines, fuel filter, foam tape wrap for quieting down the fuel pump, creating and installing a longer 3meter section of control wire. I made my control wire so it can be connected if I want to extend it, or tuck it away if I don't need the extra length, and use the controller with it's standard connection. I also installed a small chain to keep the lid from dropping all the way over. I really like how this heater works, and the bluetooth app connected quickly without any issues. I was also mildly surprised to find that the included remote came with batteries installed and paired to the heater!!! (Most remotes that come with heaters don't even have batteries and need to be paired) Thanks again for sharing with us!!!

Like the look of this, but the shipping cost is high, would like to see a UK supplier for this., also you have the Allpower R1500 highlighted, this is something else I have my eye on , looks good and what I have seen about it, I like.

Hi yes, when they have to come from China the Shipping cost is high, (probably to cover the VAT and Import Duty which Banggood include so you don't get any surprises) - They have had stock in the local warehouse previously, so worth keeping an eye out. I can see the Discount Code, which made it more reasonable, seems to have run out so I have asked them if they are able to provide a new one and will let you know and update in the description. Hi, how noisy was the unit specifically the fuel pump? Autoterm heaters whilst expensive have excellent reviews and have silent fuel pumps

Hi the fuel pump is extremely quiet (if you listen at 4:09 you can only just hear its gentle tick in the background)

Hi Andy, whilst waiting for my one to arrive, I watched this YT vid: (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/i81dZsmbz6m0h3k.htmlsi=OVAAOQ3Q_0NR6FKZ). The guy has carried out what I think are a couple of decent mods i.e. fitting a fuel filter and wrapping the pump with a little self-adhesive foam strip. (I also like the idea of extending the control cable 😁).

I'm thinking of getting a diesel heater for my motorhome. I ve watched vids on the Chinese models. I'm probably going to go for autoterm for reliability. But I definitely would use this in my workshop for it's portability.

Is it still using an IEC connector for the 12v in?. If so it is stupid and potentially dangerous.

Hi, yes it does, agree not a great design choice. I have added a big “12 VOLT ONLY” sticker to avoid the risk of any confusion on a dark night or if anyone else ends up connecting it. At some point I may get round to changing it as I want to lengthen the lead from the 240 adapter anyway.

Their price change regularly depending on promotions and shipping locations / warehouses. If thats what is coming up then it will be correct.

As the thermostat is in the controller so not in the room being heated I’ve never tried it, I just use the App. Will give it a try when I get chance to try it somewhere when the unit is in the same room it’s heating.

@ExploreVanUK remember to go into the settings F5 and set the temp (current room) up or down; every time the unit is unplugged.

Really struggle with the idea that these things are in any way safe if the manufacturer thinks its acceptable to use an iec socket as a 12v input, also the mains plug on the adaptor is unfused, completely illegal in the uk and wouldn't pass any UK safety standards.

Hi as I understand it (and I think it says on the page.) Banggood cover any import duty and VAT on purchases from the CN warehouse. I’ve ordered quite a few things from them and never had to pay anything. Delivery can take a few weeks though.

Well, I've pulled the trigger and, using the discount code you provided, I've ordered the SS2 from CN.banggood 😃 I've received a Royal Mail tracking number, which I know the detailed tracking will activate once it reaches our shores. My question is, in your experience, have you received goods from CN.banggood via the RM and if so, were you hit with VAT and Import Duty? As you stated, the VAT is covered by banggood but the RM can be a law unto themselves..

Like anything you pay for the convenience of having it all done for you, also not sure you can get this version of the heater with the new style controller, auto altitude adjustment, Bluetooth and mains adapter for £80 - have you got a link?

Poor review………………You say it’s waterproof………….SO what it the IP rating ???? It doesn’t have one. So far from waterproof. I got one back in early December 2023 and there are a few serious issues with this heater. One relating to their QC and others relating to things like ‘waterproofing’. Terrible review you should be ashamed recommending/selling crap like this 🤮

Hi thanks for your comment. Where exactly do I say it is waterproof? I’ve not rewatched the video but I would be suprised if at any point I say it is waterproof. Can you let me know the time in the video when I do? As you say it has no IP rating so it is not waterproof. If I remember correctly I say the storage solution for the controller gives it better protection from the weather than on the A01. If you could share more details on your experience of it, it would be great to know as ours is working great. Have you contacted Banggood about your issues? If you reply with more detail and justify the comment I’ll happily leave it on but if you don’t I’ll be taking it off so it doesn’t cause confusion. Thanks again for taking the time to comment.

It says waterproof, rugged etc in the thumbnail. Which is what appears in your feed. Have returned mine for full refund. Due to metal debris found in the fuel tank and a leaking fuel pipe (line split where they had connected it to the dosing pump). The case it comes in does make it a more compact.rugged unit. BUT it’s definately NOT waterproof. In fact, if it is outside in the rain. The little cubby that the have put the controller in. Can fill with water. It’s compact form. Can also be (in some respects) part of it’s downfall. Because everything is hidden away inside the case. It can hide (like it did on mine) a multitude of sins. Personally, I am happier putting these things together myself (this was my third CDH). That way, at least you know. It has been assembled correctly.

I think you may need to look at the thumbnail again it says (and always has said) weatherproof, not waterproof. There is no mention of waterproof anywhere in the video, for the simple reason the unit isn’t and doesn’t claim to be waterproof. Weatherproof means it is “resistant to the effects of weather” it’s a subjective definition but in my opinion, this model is definitely more weatherproof than the previous one, as I mention in the video. It doesn’t sound like you had a good experience with yours and glad that Banggood resolved the issue and sorted your refund. For me that’s the sign of a good supplier, putting things right when they go wrong. Though it would obviously be better if the problems weren’t there in the first place. Thanks for sharing the detail so that others can be mindful of the issues you had. Obviously, we can only share our views of the actual product we have reviewed and as ours didn't have the issues yours had, we obviously weren't't able to mention them in the video. I’m very happy to say that ours continues to work well and we’ve used it quite a bit over the last 2 months. I'm sorry you feel the review based on our findings and usage of the product is "terrible", maybe our channel isn't for you. I'm certainly not ashamed of myself or the channel, in fact I am quite proud of it and hope to continue sharing our experience with the products we try, for our subscribers and viewers that find it useful.
