A must watch for not only Bharatnatyam artists but everyone who dances. Pratibha miss has introduced me to so many interesting exercises that help me increase my flexibility and add grace to my movements. I still haven't completed my arangetram but because of Pratibha ji's tips I already feel as powerful as a professional👍

Thank you for the lesson. I am 63 and have only recently taken up bharatanyam which I find quite difficult physically though very rewarding in many ways. I have had trouble with my turnout and find your comments and tips very useful. I can only aspire to reach the very low foothills of this dance mountain but your videos definitely help. Thankyou.

@@gkbaliga Hi, thank you for your encouraging remarks. I enjoy so many of your performances and your wonderful voice. I have been trying to find recordings of yourself and your fellow musicians. To aid my understanding of bharatanatyam I have started drum lessons so that I can understand the timing better. This dance form and all the attendant music, costume, setting of texts and performance are so overwhelming to Western eyes it takes a lot of effort to unravel it's mysteries. Such a wonderful thing to have discovered it even at this advanced age! It would be wonderful to see the performances live and when the pandemic eases I hope to visit India. Thank you for giving us so much pleasure through your music 🙏

I am 36 n I started my dance journey now....started with another dance form an year ago. Due to lockdown, I could find a guru who could teach online. I really appreciate ur abilities at such a young age. I can recall a program that used to be aired on Doordarshan way back when I was a child, ur diction, explaination and intonation is very close to those videos (forgot the name though). Truly fab, keep up ur good work, the Indian art is still alive bcoz of great artistes like you all.

I am not a trained dancer..but still I used to dance out of my passion for dancing.Due to lockdown I restarted practicing and the biggest problem I am facing now is some stiffness in my knees and I found some difference in my aramandi..I searched for correct aramandi posture in internet and ended up in finding nothing informative.Yesterday when I got the notification of your video..I was really happy and surprised..I got exactly the same thing that I was searching for the past few weeks.Thankyou from the bottom of my heart.

You are welcome. However I suggest that you train under a teacher rather than learning a classical art form all by yourself. It is more complex and has a set of rules that you need to adhere to. You would need guidance down the lane :)

Ha ha... Nice. I thought Bharatha Natya today, no homework for me. But still some minor work was there. Twisting toes outwards. Trying Aramandi.... Nice. Slowly learning the terminology of Bharatha Natyam. Shobha Sarvaivya Nrithyam hi Saushtavam. Nice message. Rome was not built in a day. There are no shortcuts to success, only steps. Hardwork is the only true path......... Universal principles. Applicable in Dance also.

So many of your followers are asking for weight reduction. I think it's high time you made a video on Aerobic exercises. More relevant in these days where people don't go out of the house unless necessary. I do cycling on alternate days. If it's raining heavily, I have my treadmill and Elliptical cum cycle. Of late I have started running up the stairs and walking down. What else do you suggest for lockdown days, not only for me, but your other followers as well. One or more videos are welcome.
