After i DISCOVERED ROSÉ, LISA, JISOO and JENNIE the time has come!
THE RAPPERS SLAYED and the vocalists were soo savage it's going to take me a week to process. Gosh this was so unexpected, the pre-chorus, chorus and the dance break. It was a different sound from them, and I enjoyed them taking a risk and paying homage to their previous greats.
The fact that we got Rose owning a rock moment and F-U's shows the diversity of character and talent within Blackpink.
The only part I am unsure of is the 90's Rap verse, it seemed disjointed from the rest of the song. though I think it was created to showcase the rappers talent.

I think Lisa is a snake in the M/V since there's a tree and an apple . Some people don't like the song especially the chorus part but I personally think that the song is a bop and catchy. People expected that the chorus part will be a big beat drop but it didn't, I think this is a whole different concept for Blackpink and I love it. They didn't do their usual big drop and step out of their comfort zone. This whole MV, the pink venom song says a lot about Blackpink. From the visual, vocals, raps and choreo, this is on another level! Queens, they ate and left no crumbs. Slayed.

They paid homage to a lot of old school hip hop in this one. “Kick in the door waving the coco” is a reference to Notorious BIG’s Kick in the door. “One by one then two by two” is a reference to Rihanna pon de replay. “Can’t get a dollar outta me” is a reference to 50 cent PIMP. The rap part is an old school block party scene with classic G-Funk synth sounds and boom bap drums. I bet there’s more references in there!

I thought I was the only one getting the homage to Rihanna’s “one by one then two by two”! Actually something they said in the countdown por pink venom was that with pink venom and born pink they were gonna show they’re roots with this comeback and with all the hip hop homages u can tell they’re showing it :) it’s pretty cool they did this

I really like it. And also enjoyed that they strayed from the typical Blackpink tropes…. They’ve even had several interviews where they’ve stated that this song was different than things they’ve done before, so people acting surprised by how this song wasn’t their usual just want something to complain about. It was great…. And the video visuals were amazing as always.

"Roots" meaning to what concept/genre they sticked to the most, not necessarily sampling their own songs or referencing their discography. It is also a way to let the industry and the audience remember the black industry. Btw, it's jisoo herself who said that it is a homage to them.

I think Pink Venom is the epitome of Blackpink being IDOLS. They're playing back to us their most iconic moments and influence, but they're also calling us Blinks out for drinking the Kool-Aid (the pink venom) and blindly following them. There's so much symbolism in their sets - from Jisoo feeding us a steady stream of venomous gas, to Jennie dominating the runway (high society), Lisa breaking glass ceilings (there was shattered glass in her scene), to Rosé living in our hearts (Rocksé looked like she was in a pink cave, like one of your ventricles), to Lisa/Jennie dominating streets/corner store (the mainstream), to Blackpink being in a museum/temple (because they're goddesses and works of art). And some of the lyrics, jeeeezz. - They know that they're addictive (the fire that'll slowly put you to sleep, so beautiful it's brutal; pink venom straight to ya dome/head) - And they're saying that it's OUR fault for getting addicted (after taking your soul, look what you made us do) - They know the reach they have (we got bodies on bodies like this a slow dance) - And they know we're powerless against them (provoke us if you'd like, you can't handle it and you know this; already spread, shot that potion) - AND THEN AND THEN, right before the dance break, they quite literally tell us to LINE UP, STOP, and DROP to our knees for them. 🧎🧎🧎 fcking QUEEEENS. Jennie got me so flustered in this LMAO the way she was saying "this that pink venom" and "taste that pink venom" (while shaking the booty) literally got me 🥵🥵 and I was so confused at first why I was so flustered. Then I watched it again and went "oh, yeah I see now" 😅 The anti-drop I was not expecting and the chorus was literally like venom to me. Going all hard and fierce and then all of a sudden, it's like they took a step back after the bite. BUT they were still sassy and fierce in a sweet way. LOL I'm having a hard time describing it but basically, that whole part blew my mind for some reason 😂 Jenlisa rap part was fantastic!! Feels so long since I've seen just the two of them rapping together like that lol

Idk if it’s just me but I think this was a Perfect pre-release track , it felt like a musical trailer for their album and that’s what it’s supposed to be , it was just enough , it wasn’t relying on the formula as heavily as their other comebacks so I’m wondering how their new album will sound , the vocal verses could’ve blended in better tbh , I think the styling was better in hylt era tho , it was more cohesive and dynamic but that’s a personal taste

The instrument Jisoo is playing is the same as the one she played on their very first variety show appearance called, “Weekly Idol”. That episode was hilarious because at the time Jisoo boasted about being talented at playing, yet didn’t prove it to the hosts and the other members at that time. It was so cute. And now look at her playing it like a boss in the mv (even though it’s prerecorded…it’s still really cool!) I’m warming up to the song and love all their parts and can’t wait for September to come to see the mv for the single and the album 💕

A teacher came on set and taught Jisoo on the spot. The director decided on the spot he wanted Jisoo to play and he was surprised on not flustered she was. He was also impressed with how fast and well she leans and thinks she’s a genius and think how other idols must be talented in the entertainment field Edit: it reminds me how in interviews Hae in praises Jisoo on how fast she interprets the director feedback when doing scenes. Jisoo is really something :)

To be honest, all I could say all throughout the song was "wow". The chorus is one of my favorite part. It's teasing, playful, and sexy. The build up was released in such a way that made me feel flustered, fidgety, and hyped. I just kept listening to the song, wanting more. Of course people have different preferences in everything, so I understand if this song is not to their liking. I just hope that those people be kind with their words. I left a comment on your teaser reaction video saying that I had dragged my dad into this comeback. He watched the m/v with me, a total of 5 times before he said it’s enough BUT he liked the song and his favorite part was the rap section. He even watched their countdown live on KZfaq with me before the m/v was released. I think he’s almost a blink, I’ll have to double check tomorrow tho to make sure 😭 I started screaming when the m/v started and he randomly started screaming with me as well 💀💀💀

this song was such an emotional ride for me, I can't even explain, I couldn't shut up about it for the last 4 hours, my friends are about to block me, we've been waiting for 2 years, I was scared that I might not like it all that much, but damn was I wrong, that bridge and the lisa x jennie rap are giving me life and the visulas!!!!! they all looked do beautiful, all the shots hit hard but jisoo and rosé especially slayed.. bp totally ate and left no crumbs, teddy did such a great job, and the editors and the videographers man, they never disappoint.. if you look at their dance move when they're saying "straight to your dome like" they are pointing at their heads. it just means their pink venom is getting to our heads, which makes the "blinks" chanting BLACKPINK make sense ahahaha and also i really believe the concept is spider venom because of the cracked glass patterns on their teasers look like webs and also jisoo inside a stage of LED strings playing her string instrument and everyone is just hooked on her chanting blackpink. The spider web can also symbolize the internet "world wide web" as BLACKPINK's medium for injecting their pink venom into our "domes"/heads. people who think BLACKPINK doesn't have deep lyrics have no idea how much thought is put on their MVs coz they just look at the catchy phrases and say the lyrics are pretty shallow, but overall the concept and depth of alot of their MVs are so far out that it takes a lot of time to actually break it down, but when you do it's so satisfying to see the little details that put deep meaning in their MVs

For real.. this chorus is so addictive tho! The song feels fresh and yet so very "BLACKPINK". It gots lots of references, cool 90's hip hop inspiration, nice rock addition to the bridge, subverted anti drop chorus, fire vocals by Jisoo and Rosé, jenlisa rap line eating up everything and everyone, nice choreo and out of the world looks. this song is a banger. here are my theories 1- they all are breaking through barriers and their routine, jennie’s line “kick in the door” matches her entrance as she is breaking through that wall with a venomous ride. Rose walking out that cave where she feels like a rock star. Lisa in that secret room that opens for her as if she is finding new stuff. 2- they’re talking about tasting the pink venom. Lisa’s first scene is super strong, she walks into the forbidden fruit being a black apple with pink venom inside and eats it, Jisoo inhales the powdered Venom by putting it on the plant which later comes the “potions” as she stands by glasses of venom as she owns it. and rose in a pool of venom with a beating heart which i believe is her own that later makes her stronger at her scene in the cave being a rock star. as if showing us her inside is all venom. “notice at every scene their eyes turn pink indicating the effect of the pink venom” 3- the intro is basically Blinks. i want to believe that as jisoo is playing the instrument the shockwaves pass through the wires and goes to the VCR the people around her are wearing and makes them chant “blackpink” i think it’s a reference to us blinks loving only blackpink and getting trapped with them.

19:37 Fun fact, the hooded figure with the VR thingy gadget is actually Lisa, it was said by Jisoo at their comeback live in the 'What's in Jisoo's box' portion where they will get a thing from the box that was actually included in their part or in the mv in general. Jisoo got that VR Box gadget and said that it should be actually put in Lisa's box since she's the one who used it.

I think this is the best one yet. Musically, vocals, visuals and everything in between. The almost subtle yet, remarkable beat drop of the chorus is totally pink venom. Really apt. Gorgeous. Magnificent. Show stopping. Idek how to rest goes but you get the idea. Wow. Jisoo starting the MV with that beautiful scene. Wow. Most Blinks thought it was her because we know she can play some traditional Korean instruments. But seeing it, wow. Jennie kills it in red, she said she doesnt like the colour but damn if it doesnt suit her. Lisa's first solo rap was my fav part with its flow and the duo rap with its KTL vibes is so good. Jisoo and Rosé's bridge was gorgeous as always and I love how fierce Rosé was. It was unexpected how different their voices were in the chorus with that anti drop (I did expect repeating lyrics with no actual meaning as usual but it doesnt feel as empty which is great) and I rewatched the ending dance so so many times (reminds me of D4 with just a deeper beat version from RFL). Overall, Im in love.

You know how a lot of song these days you can’t really sing along to unless you’re reading the lyrics? The chorus was made easy enough that you automatically thump and can along with. Imagine this playing at the clubs, in the car, at a concert. I think that’s brilliance.
