Our thirteenth launch title is a *doozy*: BLUE STINGER, an utterly unhinged, out-of-its-mind action horror game that would absolutely be a beloved cult classic for how fucking weird it is, if it was even the slightest bit fun to play. But it isn't! So strap on your Wranglers and please join me and enjoy my journey into with our "flirty" protagonist and a man named "Dogs", into Area X!

I had a copy of this game that I started to play through with a real intent with the help of an online guide... only to find out that an entire batch of the PAL release was faulty and made the game freeze at a certain point of the story. Another nail in the coffin of this mess of a game.

This is honestly one of my favorite dreamcast games, i own both the japanese and us versions. Funny they share the same save so i can actually switch back and forth mid game

@@SchmidGame there is a section in the end where you have to cross beams over a hole where the japanese version is almost unbeatable so its good to have the us version

I'm playing through this game now. Nothing you said in this video is wrong, but i am really enjoying it. Would just recommend keeping a guide on hand, because like the video states, this game doesn't respect your time and you can find yourself running around aimlessly.

I’m glad to hear you’re having fun with that, I found it very charming in a messy way for a while, and then, eventually it started wearing on me, you are absolutely right that it does not respect your time lol, but it’s such a quirky thing, it’s definitely worth talking about

Somehow I ended up with this game as a kid. Actually I even had RE:CV at the same time and still liked Blue Stinger quite a bit. Not sure how far I progressed, and haven't played it in 20+ years lol

This is another i had in dc. I do remember getting lost frequently. Also remember the controls being bad as well. This was one i was looking forward to playing before i got it. Was so underwhelming lol

Blue Stinger is a bit of a guilty pleasure to me. Just finished my 2nd playthrough in time for Christmas. Biggest problems for sure is the camera, and middle section of the game. Still enjoy it regardless of it's problems.

I get that, I definitely have messy old games that still have a nostalgic charge, I just didn't get to this one until 2021 and was like "hahaha absolutely not", but it's so singular and so unique it's hard not to connect with in some way

The first time I saw the creatures in Dead Space, I thought of the enemies in Blue Stinger.

Mate these reviews are brilliant 👏 … I rented this out originally, big disappointment as this was after I played Deep Fear on Sega Saturn, RE:Code Veronica more than made up for it tho … also WTF @6:47 😂😂

Strange game. I thought it was so strange that Activision published this. Very very Japanese. Didn't think the graphics were great at the time either. I don't think the gameplay is as horrible as you describe. But it wasn't fun enough to complete it all the way through. Its strangeness makes it fun to try, but not more than that. 5/10

These very low quality releases can really hurt your system. Anyone getting this on 9/9/99 would not have had that "Dreamcast Moment" that so many others had with 2k and Soulcalibur. Your brand new next gen system would immediately feel inferior to quality from your 3-4 year old PS1 or N64. Sega should've disallowed such bad titles as these to see the light of day. And Unfortunately, I could just copy and paste this comment on a lot of your videos (which I'm going to do, haha).
