Think it’s time I accepted I am going to get one because I have watched this review about 10x 😂 Didn’t realise it was so big! Actually makes me like it more. Thanks for doing the review believe there’s only 2 on this version. Has helped me decide 👍

They used to make a dlc one with ironwood scales but they rarely come up on the secondary market so would be pretty hard to catch.

This just came up as the suggested video after your live stream. My Higo is number 073, so made about the same time, but mine is DLC and the Ti scales without the cf covers. The detent is pretty strong, but it may wear in. I fancy a Ku sized one too, though maybe the Hizen. We’ll see. I’d feel happier carrying a sub 3" in the unlikely case I was stopped by the Police.

Beautiful knife! I'd love to experience a Rockstead, but I'm sure that will never happen. My budget won't let me pay over $1,000 for a knife. Thanks for sharing it with us!

Beautiful knife. Is the butt end of the frame slightly bronze anodised?

the whole frame is bronze anodized if i remember meber correctly. at the but end you rarely come in contact with it so its more vibrant there.

Rockstead is one brand I have never really gotten into, or had any interest in whatsoever. Just seems like a really high price for a safe queen.. Because I use all my knives whether it's $100 or $2000, with the mirror blade I'd be afraid to use it.

Thats a fair point, I just love the look and action performance is great too but i use mine only lightly

Do you think the hole is used to hold the knife still in the sharpening process or just for aesthetics?

I dont know but i think its more of a design feature

@@7redi probably but they do have it on all of there blades. Was just thinking to sharpen a blade to that kind of perfection you definitely need to keep it still!

Those Rocksteads are absolutely beautiful! When are you going to review the Simen Stryckers knife? And have you ever heard of Martin Annegarn? He’s a Dutch knifemaker who makes very beautiful, well built knives. You should check him out😉👍

Hey 7redi, love your videos! I am a fellow knife enthusiast from 🇨🇭, are you getting all of the knives online? Seems like I can't find any "real life" shop with a good knife selection. And I really like to get a real feel for the knife in the hand before buying. Any tips where to find good knives around here?

I just got my first one today. The all steel model which is discontinued and no pocket clip. I do not like pocket clips.

I’ve been looking for a custom knives, mostly made by hand that’s not to simple. I have about 2000 to spend do you have any suggestions?

i have to agree... a "linerlock" Hizen with carbon or ironwood scales would make me a customer. or maybe i should just clench my buttcheeks and get a Shu. or forget about it and get a custom... damnit! :D

Haha , yeah that higher end hizen would be an awesome option as for now I stick with my Kou, so sad they dont make the kou anymore, but from the available models I would recommend the CHI had that once, amazing knife! Great EDC size as well! I think a Rockstead should be part of a collection before venturing into customs :D Gives good perspective

@@7redi i just remembered one more thing they don't do on the Hizen: the zero-convex grind! for some reason known only to them, i think the Hizen is the only knife of theirs with a secondary bevel :( If they ever do a "proper" Hizen, i'll be the first in line before getting a custom, then! :D
