As a medical professional here.. this is very concerning behaviour by your sister. Your parents need to be monitored closely for elder abuse. If your sister is blatantly willing to be verbally abusive to you and to your very young children.. you need to consider that this is going on at your parents home, as well. Her behaviour is completely unacceptable.

As a mandated reporter and you hear what is going on with her own actions, 'REPORT HER'!! There's ways for the authorities to find out who they are and where they live! I pray they get pop up visits constantly! I wonder if she's poisoning them spiteful because you got married and left home and left her there to care for them???🤔🤔🤔

I'm so sorry Justin.. It sounds like your sister is mentally ill. Your parents are struggling to handle her bizarre and unpredictable behavior. I understand that you continue to hope for a relationship with them. Guard your heart and be mindful of your children's emotional and physical safety near your sister. It's probably unlikely that she will seek help. Take good care of your new little family.

Your sister definitely has some mental difficulties! I know you love your mom and dad but sometime you have to back off. You have gone over and beyond what I would have done to try to share your kids with them! Don’t force them to be grandparents if they don’t want too. Plenty of kid grow up without grandparents and they are find. I’m sorry but your mom, dad and sister are strange and it has nothing to do with their cultural beliefs! Let them be miserable by themselves. You have sooooo many good reasons to be overjoyed 😊! Congratulations! 🎉

Yes I agree, definitely sounds like she is having some mental health issues. It may be that your parents are trying to shield you and the kids from her. Or they may be feeling embarrassed or even scared about her deteriorating mental state and don’t want you to witness it.

Absolutely spot on. As I wrote in my comment, trying to analyze and respond to her as a rational person or seeing her lack of filters as mere cruelty is misguided. Under no circumstances should Justin expose his impressionable treasures (S and kids) to the sister. I speak from experience. The parents chose their "prison" and will continue to regress the harder he tries to press the matters. 🙏🏻

As a care giver to an elderly parent, I would suggest getting respite care into the home to take a little pressure off of your sister. Is she going to work each day? Perhaps a Korean social worker could come to speak to her? It seems everyone is still functioning physically, but that is soon going to change, and the mental health of everyone at your parent's home seems shakey. She does seem like she has some mental health issues and is unable to hide them, making me think she is overwhelmed and depressed and angry. Its true that you don't know her well anymore, and perhaps a neutral third party could get something going.

Your sister is seriously mentally compromised. Does she have a job or is living off your parents? This seems to go beyond mere jealousy into the realm of a deeper disturbance. Many mental conditions do not manifest themselves until early adulthood. She is threatened by you.As she treats you badly with impunity and your parents do not intervene she is obviously the one in control.Stay safe with your lovely family and be very guarded with any visits.A sad situation, but I respect how clear minded you are about it all.Love to you all from Ireland.

This saddens me deeply because these are your parents twilight years, their golden years. This is when their life should be carefree and happy. And there you are, caught in the middle. I was so impressed with your ability to keep ;your eye on the ball when you were visiting your dad. You made it clear to your sister, that your time with your Dad was about him, and not her. Keep on, keeping on. Do not let her steal your joy.

There's a story about a man who saves all of his money to finally one day go on a cruise. At the end of the cruise he was talking to other guests who were sharing about all the fun activities they did, sites they saw, and food they ate and he mentioned that he hadn't been able to do any of those. When they asked why not he said he had used all of his money for the cruise and couldn't do extra things and they told him that it was included. So that entire time he had missed out on the beauty of the things that he had worked so hard for. It reminds me of your parents and sister. They got to Canada, a wonderful place where they can build relationships, explore, learn, experience so many new fun things with family and friends, but they choose to hide away in their homes and fill their hearts with bitterness. I love the example that you're setting for them of living a happy healthy life in a wonderful place. I hope your father's health continues to improve and that your mother and sister can start to have their eyes opened to the beauty around them if they are able to step out of their homes and step out of their selfishness.

Her behavior is a clear manifestation of untreated mental illness, not mere jealousy and trying to analyze it from that standpoint will only result in emotional damage to the innocent children and both J and S. Her unfiltered unhinged behavior around the nurse only confirms it. Having seen/experienced it up close since childhood (now in my 50s), I shudder to think of avoidable trauma kids will experience even after a single encounter should Justin try to force meetings in the name of being a filial son. The parents' regression is ALSO a textbook response.

I calmly told her that when she was able to treat me decently I’d be happy to talk; until then, I didn’t want to hear from her. I never did and she died 11 years ago. Just very bad and toxic vibes from her. Also one little tip. I would say any meeting you wants to make with your parents, I think you should do through your mom. Your dad seems to be scared of everyone and everything. If you want progress it won’t likely happen through him. It’s her loss because she’s missing out on being an auntie to your children. Focus on your beautiful family and the love from your wife and kids. 🙏🏼❤️

Justin I applaud your unwavering love and patience for your family. You are a really good person and your response to your sister just shows suuuuuuch maturity. You are handling all of this better than most of us will. You and Sarah are amazingly loving and beautiful people with genuinely good hearts. Keep going....❤ Your persistence will prevail and inspire good and patience in your family and many others.

You handled the situation with your family very well. One day your sister will look back at her immaturity as a factor that brought sadness to her parents. Since she lives with your parents, I am pretty sure she has a profound influence on them.

Sometimes the road to reconciliation is not a straight smooth path but rather a jagged one filled with potholes, ditches and fallen trees that seem impassable but nothing is impossible Justin. Sometimes time is the answer. Give it time and continue to be the son and brother who reaches out and demonstrates love to them.

As a nurse I also think your sister may be controlling your parents minds, life's and prompting them to stay away from you. As they get older they are becoming more dependent on her so are afraid to upset her. I don't think she is good for them.

So sorry to hear of such a negative interaction with your sister after so long. You are definitely strong and don’t allow her to turn you into her. She wants you to get angry so she can rub it in your face. You are doing the right thing by yourself and your sweet family. I understand your continuing to make the effort, especially for your children but still try to protect your and your wife’s wellbeing as well. God bless you as you continue your struggle with your families. Love following your family! ❤

Justin I'm a fan and I'm saying this with love. Take it whatever way you want. I think there is some elder abuse I'm sensing in your story along with mental issues on your sisters end. No grown woman, no matter the Asian culture especially at her age, shares a phone with their parents. Like everything else your parents are hiding her condition. NEVER EVER leave those kids with them I'm afraid that if your parents turn their backs she would do something again with respect and no malice I'm just sayin.

I am sorry you have to deal with this! I too have a biracial son. My dad and his side of the family had a very difficult time excepting him. I went 13 years without speaking to them. I decided to try again and it was slow going but once they realized how much he was like my dad (in his personality) things changed. My son is now 31, has 3 kids of his own and my dad is very good to his great grandchildren! There is hope.

Justin, thanks for always trying. I applaud you for it because it’s not easy. I know from personal experience. Continue trying with your parents because you only have one and don’t want to have regrets for not giving it all you got. When you have exhaust every avenue then it’s okay to move on with a clear conscience. I’ll continue to pray that your parents will not regress to not speaking to you or seeing the kids. God blessings be upon you and your wife, Sarah and children❤❤🙏🏾🙏🏾
