I have a 16x 18 shed behind my house I have never used its back beside a river and I put windows in it put wood in it like dale has and im getting a wood stove like he has its looking good about a month away from getting it done im so thank full I found a use for it I don't cook but when im done going to try to cook bread thank you sir for all you know and do ur friend james

What a wonderful visit this was...I'm so glad I found your channel on here. We're practically neighbours...I live in Newfoundland...lol...this reminded me of cooking on our old wood stove and how I knew the in's and out's of that thing cooking and baking like the back of my hand!! The scraping too much comment and the syrup in a paint can just about did me in, I swear! haha DYING laughing here still...good one's! LOL

Nice to see your videos. Thank you for sharing your Journal Entry habit. In USA the "Happy Planner" type journal is very popular and I have been using for over a year. These planners are very easy to use as you can personalize them by adding pages or taking away as this can be easily accomplished. Amazed to see what you come up with in your cooking video with no meat and very little fat. Thanks for sharing.

Tip to get the syrup lid back on. Product fills lid groove in top of can and prevents lid from popping in. Make several tiny holes (with tool like an ice pick) in bottom of groove in can, to allow excess syrup to drip from groove , back into can. Lid will now fit and seal as before. On the Cape here and in Plymouth we have the British Beer Company restaurants and they have a wonderful Shephard's Pie as well. Love the Canadian maple leaf dog collar, too. So cute on Angel!

Hello neighbor, we are your Maine fans. My Dad and I so enjoy your cabin videos. Just a quick idea about the Coleman oven, we have found that a couple of bricks in the bottom of the oven help keep our heat more consistent in the little oven. We purchased bricks from a stove shop so they can withstand the heat. We also use a small pizza stone for even temperature. Thanks for the videos and keep them coming!

To my knowledge, in Louisiana, “the holy trinity” is actually onion, celery and GREEN PEPPER, not carrots. It’s used in Jambalaya, Etoufees, and lots of other Cajun cooking. Your meal looked delicious! Nice and relaxing video, Dale. I lived in Louisiana for five years and picked up a lot of knowledge about cooking while there. Angel is adorable, as usual.

We need aroma vision. The orange marmalade ginger cake looks delicious. I love ginger too. So much so that when I started gardening that was one of the first things I grew. I love love watching your vellums your very interesting I keep wondering how it would be to visit your little cabin on a cold windy snowy winters evening just sitting and chatting sipping hot coffee or tea an honey butter biscuits while the fire crackles in the little stove! I have a fabulous imagination and I can transport myself there every time I watch! Thanks for Sharing such a beautiful peaceful life with me. I never meet interesting people nobody talks anymore they just want to text and always have there faces lite up by the glare of there cell phones! I'm 50yrs young and I just want to go back to the old days when people actually had important conversations or enjoyed just being together without any distractions. I give up on trying to connect with others it's nit even worth the aggrevation. I'm a loner who looks for videos of peaceful people living simple lives! And honestly I enjoy being alone when I get really lonely I visit my family and that only confirms that I'm not all that bad off being alone! lol I'd love to build a little log cabin if I get lucky enough to ever have a home I would not build big as a matter of fact I'd purposely build small. I see many people but these huge houses and then fill them up with material things and often think look at that they can't even enjoy it cause they work 60 or more hours a week to pay for the humongous money pit!lol It'd truly a lose lose situation when you have to work to have such massive amounts of square footage land cars and all the new teck gadgets and throw away appliances! Yeah I'm happily poor but rich in the knowledge that having less is more! I couldn't imagine having anything I would devastated if I lost it! Besides my family I'd give it all away if I had to and wouldn't lose a nights sleep! I dream of marrying a man just like you! Who loves to talk about interesting people and likes to talk about everything and anything. Besides your soooooo handsome. Hello Dale...thank you again for another great video. I was so happy to see it was over fifty-five minutes long. Whilst I watched I was enjoying a piece of cake that I made a few days ago with a cup of tea. The cake itself is called Yoghurt pot Cake. It is a recipe made by Nigella Lawson, one of my favourite cooks. All the ingredients are measured in an empty Yoghurt pot, the Yoghurt itself being one of the ingredients. It is Italian in origin and delicately flavoured with Lemon and Vanilla. perfect with a cup of Tea or Coffee.

Just to clarify Dale: A sofrito is a basic preparation of tomatoes, garlic, oil, and onions, though there are a myriad of recipes. Some almost more like a pesto. The 'Cajun' Holy Trinity is Onions, Celery and (generally Sweet) Peppers. And, the combination of Onions, Celery and Carrot that you used in this video is called a Mirepoix (pronounced MEAR-Pwa or sometimes MEARA-Pwa.) The name comes from a French Field Marshall of the 18th who stole the credit for the combination from his personal chef who discovered that even a small amount of this combination added greatly to the flavor of the food made with it. On a side note, one of the things we never fail to purchase when we shop at the Amish stores in our area (Eastern Iowa) is what the local Amish refer to as "Soup Greens," which a combination of finely diced and dehydrated Mirepoix with the addition of a small amount of dried herbs (mostly parsley.) I use it in a great many recipes, in fact, in the last week I've used it in Chicken Soup (Flu Season,) Pork and Plate Noodles and Bacon and Egg Fried Rice. Amish Convenience. Was the Pepper you showed from Penzey Spices? They sell the full line of Penzey Products at our favorite Amish Store (Stringtown Grocery near Kalona, Iowa.)
