Thanks for this video!! Boundaries have always been an issue for me, in fact I had no boundaries or I was scared of expressing boundaries and needs. Thanks to your channel and learnings I realize I had no boundaries cause I was scared to loose the attention/care or love from others... Scared of being left alone. This is coming from that core belief/lie that I am not good enough, not lovable 🙄 I start to change my core beliefs, it is hard working and convincing myself but I feel I am getting slowly there. I start to value myself 🥰 and putting boundaries. Now I put boundaries and value myself I do not expect others to reassure me. If they cannot respect my boundaries, that's OK! And I am OK to walk away, dough still respect them and not judging them. And what I also feel is by believing in myself and putting boundaries I feel more secured and calm in my body! I cannot thank you enough for your wisdom!!!

My inner child was throwing a fit yesterday and I have been practicing letting go, manifesting and being authentic but finding your videos on a day where I was telling myself all the lies....changed something in me. I realized things like my finances or expectations for others are being run by my 8 year old child self. I immediately was able to set clear boundaries at home with love. I am done letting my inner child run my life. Thank you for all your work and contribution. David, I appreciate your firm and clear message and Alex you compliment David so well with your perspective.

Just found your videos. Love your dynamic. I understand the wisdom here. What happens when you’ve done this, the people refuse to stop disrespecting you, but you can’t leave. For example a volatile and hateful co-parent or mom you live with. These relationships are intertwined and not able to be walked away from. Thanks

Thank you David, for saying that you don't like the word boundaries. Because that word is misleading i agree. It causes people, including me, to think boundaries are a way to protect myself emotionally from redlight feelings. The right word is beliefs. So when someone does disrespect me, its not that they have broken my boundaries, but we just have conflicting beliefs. And so I just need to inform them of my beliefs. And the word boundaries almost suggests that I need to create them, but beliefs suggests that they are who I am, not separate from me. So when I share my beliefs, I am sharing who I am. The words you use are powerful. I love what you said as well Alex about not becoming emotional when you believe that your boundaries have been crossed, but remaining objective and addressing the action as opposed to the person. That already takes away half the dread of approaching someone. I had to do that to someone i had met for the first time a few days ago. Took him aside and we had a solid conversation where I just spoke of my beliefs and he spoke of his. He was defensive at first, but because I was sharing what I believed, he opened up after a while and we had an honest talk.

Thank you both so very much for another wonderful video, very insightful and educational. I believe that I have lived life out of obligation to others and look at others as more worthy and deserving than I and I don’t have to tell you that’s a lot of power to give away. This is how I have lived my life until serious break within myself that happened this past April. I believe I’ve lived my life terribly super-responsibly! What a blessing you two are, for so many. Peace always~

Thank you Alex an David for the vidio. But the childhood trauma are very difficult to be passed. And for me feeling you are good enough are traumatic event for a child and as a result of this you may be passing the rest of you life telling yourself and other that you are good.
@WuWeiWisdom
@WuWeiWisdom 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Dorina, Thanks for your comments. As you will appreciate it would be inappropriate for me to comment on personal issues without full knowledge, history and background. Therefore I can only comment in general terms. I am not sure what you mean by saying “childhood trauma are very difficult to be passed”? The Wu Wei Wisdom teaching is you can change and control your views and perceptions of childhood issues, experiences and acknowledge that you are awesome and came through those times. Remember, you are the creator of your emotions NOT the victim of them. You control your mind... your mind does NOT control you. Being "not good enough" is a thought and belief, NOT a feeling, it creates a Red Light Feelings, but you have to address those core beliefs to change the feelings. Thank you so much for this video. Boundaries as beliefs not protection is a great new reframe for me. I wondered if you have any videos around the wu wei approach to language- how to articulate our needs and boundaries- useful phrases etc. I often avoid as my attempts either don’t seem to ‘land’ or they are met with a combative response. Though I’m not responsible for the way another person reacts, I can be responsible for the words that I use.

Hi David and Alexandra. I grew up with my father who from my early childhood always maintained a relationship with another woman while married to my mother. He even bore another child with one of them. My mother did not end the relationship with him, yet she argued and pleaded with him continuously to change. I am now in a three year relationship with a man who I value highly and who has been supportive and nurturing, but I have been asking him the whole while to change the way he positions his friendships with other women to help me accept their presence. He says he needs more trust from me. This issue has led to serial breakups and getting back together. Do I need to change or is there a need for cooperation between us?
@zion367
@zion367 2 жыл бұрын
My childhood was the same, so i can relate to your emotions. Truthfully but perhaps painfully. No one of you has to change. Sometimes there is incapability. If you have a need for him to adjust his friendshipt that is perfectly fine and if he does not want to do that then this is his right. We need to seek for what feels right for us. For me personally if i would have a man he could have female friends, but i would prefer them to visit the both of us. From there it is easier to build trust. There would also be a difference if they were single or not and i would observe the way they would communicate their messages to eachother. Could be very well that this man has a fragile ego and seeks to boost it through contact with other woman. This would be a no go for me. My ex used to have this woman who always was calling him sweety and other things in their messages and although i knew her too at parties they discussed inappropriate topics. That was unacceptable for me. There was some insecurity within me as well, yet i still believe that my needs were valid and that they deserved to be honored by me.

@@zion367 Thank you Zion. These are essentially the same conclusions that I have reached. I care for him deeply, and have tried to adjust to go along and get along. Unfortunately, it's just not a good fit. And I agree with you on your point of validating and honoring your needs. I believe this entire experience has been intended to help me find that place of self-acceptance within. Thanks again.

@@WuWeiWisdom Sometimes when David talks I see the foot of the animal clearly. Then other times I see the trunk of the animal. Then sometimes if I think hard....I see the elephant standing there in all its glory. Thank you, David.
