With the IHOPKC drama taking place many are reeling regarding where to land in their theology. Today's episode covers a quick breakdown of my Deconstruction in 2015 and my RE-construction since then.
Here is the post I mentioned in this video for context: / cgui6w4aqheddf4b
In 2015 I deconstructed a lot of my charismatic theology.
I landed at pretty stripped and unsure place in my theology.
But the one thing that remained sure in my life was a simple devotion to Jesus Christ, trusting His Word and His Spirit in my life.
Over the next 9 years the Lord would rebuild my theology to a much more balanced place.
At this point when I see charismatic leaders fall it doesn’t make me question the gifts of the Spirit.
It rather makes me question the legitimacy of the prophetic words from their mouths.
And it also challenges me to be more discerning about ministers and ministries while they are on the rise rather than after the fact of their fall.
It’s all about staying in the Word for yourself and also walking with Jesus on a daily basis.
I’m not accountable for what God “told” someone in their prayer closet.
I’m accountable for what God told me in His word and what the Spirit speaks to my heart that is in line with His word.
At 16 I experienced the Holy Spirit alone in my bedroom for the first time. And I had that experience after 2 weeks of studying the Word about the Holy Spirit.
It’s 25 years later and No one can take that from me.
Through the highs and lows that principle remains.
Draw near to His Word.
Draw near to His Spirit.
And keep a humility that is willing to grow and change based on His direction.
Cheers friends 🙏🏼

I really love that. Live a quiet life and work with your hands. Just be who God made you to be. Relate to people. Real life.

Call me shallow, but I love the scenery outside your window. Fort Worth traffic I would gladly exchange for Montana. Been listening to you Blaise for several months now. Praying blessings on you and your family. God is obviously giving you a spirit of wisdom. Stay abiding in Christ and growing into His image. ❤️

I like to describe my “deconstruction” as a “REVISITING”. Revisiting God’s Word and challenging our own beliefs is a FANTASTIC thing to do!!! Berean.

"The cessationists are holding us accountable better than we're holding ourselves accountable. " Wow! So, so true. I was never into anything IHOPKC related because it was too extreme for me.I am also a Charismatic Christian, but I believe God is a God of order and not extremes. We need to keep our focus on Jesus, God and His Word. If it's not in His Word, then we shouldn't go after it. I think that's how so many believers fall into deception. Our lives should be a reflection of Jesus, in loving and serving others. We should measure everything by "What does the Word say?" I like your channel, by the way!

YES! I've been saying this for a while. I also left WOF and there were a lot of pastors who specialized in some one thing (healing, prophecy, deliverance, prosperity, spiritual travels) and the whole ministry would be built on that topic. I'm like, the people need the full counsel of the scriptures, they will be soo malnourished with this. If you want to "niche," open a KZfaq channel and only talk about that one topic. But if you're called to pastor a church, please study and preach The Bible to the fullest, the best way you can.

That is why the WHOLE body of Christ is needed. I think the lone rangers building their own kingdoms according to only their gifting and strengths is where we get into trouble. I believe the church should be lead with more of a team mentality to equip the whole body, rather than one man at the top.

I know everyone is bashing deconstruction, but I think we all need to throw out everything we’ve been taught in the mainstream and go completely back to building from scratch and starting in Genesis. There’s too much spiritual static in the ether.

I really appreciate your videos. I’m your age, and I’m detaingling stuff too. My parents met Mike back in ‘78 or so. He married then, they went to his church in St. Louis, then in ‘89 they went to kc to be a part of his church. They left in 93. Though they left way back then they got into the nitty gritty of theology. Now they are so far off, and I have been diving back to the basics for the past 11 years. Anyway. Thanks for sharing. I always find it helpful to hear other’s stories.

I've always been into that live quietly and peacefully and work with your hands. Doing everything you do unto the glory of God so that others might see the Lord even if I didn't say anything. This is how I felt as a youngster that has loved the Lord from as far back as I can remember. It wasn't a theology it was just the Spirit within me responding to what I heard read in the Word and saw demonstrated by family and friends. OK now 40+ years later I'm still that same child even though I am a man and have learned and unlearned a lot of stuff since navigating through this atmosphere. 1 John 1:9 just popped into my mind, just now. Hey Blaise, I appreciate ya bro! No need to get caught up in teachings, doctrines, theologies, prophecies etc. We may not be at the very end times but we can sure see it from here. So, how can we just live? Our faith has to be the real thing! Now I leave you with 1Peter 1:1-9. Let the love of the Lord blow over the coals in your heart as you read and remember. He is perfecting us brother! Love to you!

Since starting my own deconstruction process, I've really been pondering this question, "If we were living in the time after Satan is released to deceive the nations, how would we know?" There's a counter-argument to every objection I've heard and would love to have a formal discussion with someone who knows the word

The simplicity of a God honoring life~God’s ways are not complicated. His way brings peace and simplicity in a complicated and chaotic world. 1 Thesalonians 4:11-12 “Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life and attend to your own business and work with your hands, just as we commanded you so that you will behave properly toward outsiders and not be in any need.”

Bickle called his very biblical + bridal brand Apostolic Premillienialism, thats where it gets off. Teaching exactly what the Apostles taught the way they taught it which is Jesus is coming back in their lifetime therefore pray and study to be counted worthy at Judgment Seat but he aimed at a made up Anna Calling that made him millions off free labor. Its hard to sustain 24/7 without God told me’s and some cult practices.

thanks! do you have any updates on the IHOP situation - last heard on your podcast and others a crowd funded third party agreeable to victims and IHOP was eminent...then shortly after heard IHOP stepped back again is re-organizing, rebranding, and not going to be voluntarily involved. That they wanted to cover their liability. Is it off again - what are the advocates going to do - is anything moving forward?

You might consider as to part of the why of an eternal hell is that there is no rescue for one there. It would seem to be that while in this body is the opportunity to respond to Him in faith and thus be made alive unto Him. If one fails to come alive from the dead while in the body, they are forever left in the consequences of that death. Except, that the time of long suffering on God’s behalf toward them has expired. Consider this in the light of the condition of the hearts and minds of mankind that led to the flood. If someone refuses God, they really don’t want to spend the rest of their lives in His presence - that would also be a life of torment. Perhaps, ‘depart from Me, for I never knew you’, is merciful on God’s behalf. Maybe hell becomes an easier place to abide than in God’s full presence for eternity in the new heavens and new earth.

Does anyone know if the third party investigation that Elizabeth Herder talked about when she was on the program is still moving forward? I heard somewhere that it wasn't going to happen after all, but don't know if that is true.

Curious why you dipped your toe in the grace world (ultimate reconciliation) and seem to have gone back to transactional faith. A transactional gospel is no gospel at all in my opinion. Are we really left to save ourselves from the fallen nature we inherited by the sins of another? But we can't be saved the righteousness of another? I think we fell in Adam and in Christ we rose. Our belief merely acknowledges that truth.
