The blue one is different than Fades on its own after a minute and it only lights up right when you change the settings

I didnt know 100% when i bought it but the plug on the advert looked the same as mine. I think if the plug is correct they should be OK. I know there are a couple of different styles of plugs though.

@@berko79 Im hoping its the same coloured wires, never mind the plug style cut that off and just follow the colours of the wires. and pray.

Yes I did notice that it auto dims itself, if it means saving the screen from fading it would be great.

The sensor is in the heater and i'm not too sure how accurate it is. Seems to be a bit hit and miss on the actual temperature. I end up raising it or lowering it to a comfortable temp.

Yes, i'm pretty confident this would work. The main thing I would say is make sure the plug to the controller is the same. I don't believe the size of the heater will matter at all, you can change the settings if required. And if its setup correct now it should remain setup on the new controller.

The remote is better on the blue controller, but other than that they are very similar. The timers do work slightly differently between the two. I find i never use the timers personally but I know some people do.

@@berko79 I have two heaters one with a black lcd and one with a blue lcd and the blue one is so much more responsive and easier to set up, I think once you use a blue one you will never go back and the little bonus of ambient temperature and core temperature of the heater itself on the remote control is also a bonus.

No it doesn't if you want that one you will have to upgrade the screen too. Happy to be corrected if anyone has worked out how to do it but I'm pretty sure it's not possible.

I am not sure if it is the same for all black controllers, but for mine it did not work.

No for mine i did not have to change the motherboard. What i have heard is there is another more basic controller which is different but looks very similar. It has 3 fan blades on the fan icon in the LED and for that one you do need a motherboard change.

You can't change this when in use. These 2 parameters are tied together. The fan speed is also used for air delivery into the combustion chamber so it has to match the pump pulses to ensure a clean burn

I don't have any 2kw heaters however I've copied the settings from someone in one of the Facebook groups. Saying that there are some variables involved like the pump size and glow plug wattage. Settings quoted were 1.0 3.0 2050 4300 12v 1 5

Hmm E-07 would point towards an incompatibility between the controller and the main board in the heater. Was your original controller the one with the 3 blades on the fan and the very limited controlling option?

I do know its a different controller and possibly mainboard which might be your issue?... unfortunately i've had no experience with this type of controller

Go into advanced settings an scroll through it. it my reset mine did the same thing some settings were off I reset them and it may became good

Is your black controller the triangle with 3 wires? I know there are heaps of different types of black controllers now but i dont know too much about how they are wired.

Unfortunately there are two types of black controllers so i'm wondering if yours might be the other one. If it has 3 blades on the fan icon it is different. Saying that they often come paired already if they come with a remote - I assume you have tried it to make sure it isnt already paired? Otherwise i'm not sure other than holding the up button for 5 seconds.

@@berko79 no it doesn’t have three blades. It’s 5/7. This looks like the exact same as my old remote which I had to pair when I originally got my heater. I’m baffled

Id only change it if the screen was faded, it was playing up or you wanted the feature rich remote. Otherwise not really much to gain!

Did you try 1688? The one in the video? Also someone else commented on this vid that they had to use 9009. Hopefully one of these two works for you.

when you push power and OK does it come up connecting on your remote? Did you see if it worked without having to pair?

The manual calls it the parking heater control, holding "ok" and power at the same time you get 3 digit code screen, seems the only way to leave the screen is the gear "settings" key long press but can't seem able to unlock anything

On mine it actually functions as a thermostat. It will drop to 1.0hz when temp is exceeded & go up when below. It will NOT cycle on & off. Only low & hi.

@@winandd8649 the blue screen and lcd remote allows you to set degrees C or hertz you can set the degrees C or automatic mode and the heater will chase that temperature and then almost just shut down with the fan ticking over very slowley until the degrees C drop and then it will fire back up again automatically chasing the temperature you have set, or you can set it to Hz mode/manual mode and just have it ticking over at the pump speed you have set which is a little more economical to run than degrees mode or automatic mode , to change between manual or automatic modes press the up and down buttons together. of courzse none of these functions will work unless you have the lcd screen in the room you are heating, I have extended mine by 5 meters using standard 13amp extension lead wire and it works very well. my heater is mounted on an outside wall of the house with the fuel tank in my back garden (wall mounted) and the wiring and fuel line is in 2.5 inch plastic conduit. the pump is about 6 inches from the heater, the nylon fuel line is about 10ft long.

Yes you are correct, the controllers are very similar. I guess that is due to the fact that the controller board (inside the heater) is still the same. The timers work slightly differently too, both not how i'd expect. But yeah i guess this "swap" is more for people who have had excessive screen fade or issues with their controller.

yeah, thats the best way to work out the compatibility. I'm pretty sure if it the plug is correct it should work. Saying that I havent had enough of the heaters to know for sure and they do seem to keep producing variants of the controllers.

@@berko79 all the heaters seem to have a black wire and a blue wire and a red wire it is just the plugs that change, I have a hunch that being as the balck wire goes to the black wire on the heater and each corresponding coloured wire goes to its corresponding coloured wire on the heater the controllers should all be fairly compatable reguardless of plug type. I am about to try this out soon.

Yeah I could have done a better job of explaining that. The black controllers slowly fade if left on all the time until you cant see what you are doing. So lots of people want to replace those. The blue controller is a bit smarter (knows altitude) and has a slightly different way of the timer working. The remote is also a bit better allowing more adjustment and also displaying ambient temperature.

@@berko79 It knows the altitude? That would be a great feature. I camp in the Snowy Mountains each winter and due to the altitude I should adjust the fuel-to-air ratio due to the higher altitude (about 1450m in my fave camp) but I can't be bothered and add a 10% kero mix to overcome sooting issues. Given I'm on my third, faded black controller, I might give the blue one a lash.

well your lucky you got one that works, I got ripped off with a crap one and I have a blue controller on my 2kw heater so im buying another blue controller to replace the black piece of crap they sent me with the 5kw heater. The LCD screen on the remote control does make life easier, once you have tried it youll never go back, ambient temperature and Hz or Degrees C are also displayed on the remote LCD screen. you can use the LCD remote as far away as 30 meters and the batteries are cheaper than the old remote batteries it uses AAA cells.
