Today we are using the old beam and frame head we prepped on the last video it start mocking up the DIY home made beam extension for the 1960 VW Beetle.

Kevin Hamling cool man, we’re thinking the same. They will be whatever length in order to tackle that part of the project.... it makes the most sense to me anyway. I don’t want to drag things out just for extra videos.

I think the length of this video is perfect, some of the other people’s videos I watch are a little to long. 20 to 30 minutes or so is perfect. I really like these type of builds.thats exactly what I try to do with my videos

Roy Works thanks bud, I appreciate your input. I kind of felt some of these would be better being a longer video than breaking it up into multiple parts. As long as they don’t fell dragged out then I guess I’m doing good. It still amazes me how much work goes into one video.... some are more work than others but this one was a bear.

Roy Works haha, yeah the heat usually has me limited to around noon - 1pm max, especially since work during the week takes it out of me. I know other people put so much more time and effort into their videos than you or I do, but it’s still a job to record it, get the shots right, lighting, etc. takes 3x longer to do the job vs filming. Then comes editing lol As long as someone learns from it, I’m happy. So many others know more than I do but that’s ok, I’m just sharing what little I know. Honestly I hate recording myself 🤷‍♂️

Dean Robinson funny thing is, he just sold his bug!... although he’s only 11 so not like he’s ready to drive soon anyway lol I’m trying to get some done on it here and there but the heat and work schedule is messing up my personal time 😂

Man I'm far behind on vids! I've got some catching up to do! Can't wait to see this come together! I almost would've hacked the hood a bit and let the steering gear hang out! Would add to the look! I say keep the vids as long as you'd like! You know we'll keep watching! Keep up the awesomeness!!!

I got some cut off wheels at a HF side walk sale for 1 $ a pack so I got 8 packs. I have enough to start a chop shop ? HF was putting out cases of those blades. I dont think I will ever use all of them , I still have over 70 of them !!!!!!!!!

I understand where you’re coming from and remember most of the metal I cut out needed replaced anyway. Hopefully I can pull off the look that I’m going for, maybe I’ll toss in a teaser in the next few videos.

Fun stuff man! Will be cool to see how you brace the front end (just in case this car needs to catch air at some point). I know you'll get it good and solid and are up for all the welding that lies ahead. It'll be great to continue following your progress. I'm sticking with "Sickxty" for a name suggestion, but if there's room for one more... "Pinnochio".

It’s hard to say if this thing will make it on the bug jam track next year..... extra bracing is never a bad idea! Knowing me, I’ll prob overdue it but I’d rather be safe than sorry. You are the guy with the names apparently, now I don’t know which one I like better lol

Looks good! Welder might have been hitting its duty cycle? Just a thought... Look kinda cool with swept back or extended front fenders maybe? Good video.

Vintage Speed VW I was wondering about the duty cycle, spoke to Eastwood about it since it’s been continuing. Definitely been thinking about some kind of front fenders, not sure just yet. Long way to go, hope it turns out like I envision.

Jim Lester thanks buddy! I did double check the protractor, it’s pretty close. That’s why I reference the car then the work that I’m doing to match those numbers up. Hopefully this build will turn out like I envision lol Have a great, safe week.

Exactly, that was the point! Trying to show people that they can make the parts themselves if they get creative. I plan on putting the 2054 from Jawbreaker into the 60 when it’s ready to hit the road. Thanks for being here buddy, stay safe and healthy!

If your're going to brace it, brace it to the tunnel, that where the strength is.

Pie cut the tunnel to give it more caster.

@@VWJawbreaker I thought you going low not high. The caster angle should be fine running at that height. It's only when you go real low that you have to worry about caster angle.

@@dwalker399 ok, I’m with ya now. I’ve lowered a few cars and have had to adjust caster. Figured keeping it stock height but with larger tires, matching stock caster would be best.

@@VWJawbreaker Your setup will work fine the way it is. The change in wheelbase and extra weight in the front should give it a whole different feel.

I did a similar setup on a Pan buggy that worked out really well. Applying what we did there to this build.
