"Who is Mrs Flood" is also a mystery that will be explored in the new season. She is a new character.

Now I’m very intrigued! She went from complaining about the TARDIS and blaming it on someone else to knowing exactly what it was by the end of the episode 🤔

@@ChachiSaysIt was blocking the sidewalk (or the pavement, as Brits say), which makes it very hard for people with mobility issues, so I didn't blame her for that. (Not saying anyone is.) But, yeah, now she knows what she didn't know. Is it because the past was changed by the Doctor going back to save Baby Ruby -- at least to the extent that the neighbor lady saw/found out some things?

You'll be pleased to know that the "news" about Millie leaving at the end of the next season has been debunked. She's been seen filming for Ncuti's second season and confirmed as being in at some of the episodes. So feel free to get attached to the character because it's more complicated than her being in just one season.

She's probably going to be a recurring character, like the RTD companions, as they also have one season and became recurring. But we are getting a new companion played by Varada Sethu.

@@ChachiSays I thought twice about telling you this because I know spoilers are bad, but you'd been told a fake spoiler. I'm as in the dark about Ruby's story as you, but going into the next season based on a fake spoiler, and then not investing in the character... I think that would have been worse.

@@MatthewCYN15 Yep. It was disappointing (though predictable) that parts of the British media misreported it as Millie being "sacked" after one season.

@daveangel We don't know yet what's going on with Millie Gibson she could end up being a recurring character or she's in it for a couple of episodes earlier in the next season then Verada Sethu takes over we just don't know yet but it be no surprise once she does leave that's the tradition with this show companions come and go.

Again Welcome to the Whoniverse 💙💙 Few fun facts: -The actress for Mrs Flood is the real life wife of Queen (band) guitarist Brian May. Mrs Flood is a new character however. -Davina McCall is a British TV presenter and the original host of Big Brother. The show featured in this episode is a real life show named Long Lost Family, with the same concept of finding lost relatives. -Millie Gibson, the actress of Ruby Sunday, would probably be featured as a recurring character similar to the companions of the 2005-2010 era of Doctor Who, as the companions at the time had at least one series and returned in a recurring capacity. However we will have new companions, with the one after Ruby played by Varada Sethu (she was in Andor).

They named her Janice after the female Muppet from Dr Teeth & the Electric Mayhem (Muppet Show) Then fans pointed out they'd named her Janis Goblin😂. Others are Gob Dylan, Pixie Nott, Bryan Fairy & Ralph McTelf.

No worries, none of us know Mrs. Flood's story, but I think we all assume there is more coming. (BTW, the actress is married to Brian May, of Queen, as well as being a big star in Great Britain, Anita Dobson.) Your reactions are really fantastic - thanks!

I don't know any secrets about it, but I would guess that if they know this companion will only be for 1 season, likely the actress has commitments which will prevent her from staying longer. That said, maybe later they can bring her back - that had happened before.

We dont know who Mrs Flood is yet or how she recognized a Tardis... but its the same actress who was Issac Newton's servant which is sus

It's not the same actress. Mrs Flood is played Anita Dobson, who is famous from her time in EastEnders; Mrs Merridew in Wild Blue Yonder is played by Susan Twist, who has a handful of similar bit part credits in other dramas.

I have a hunch who Rubies parents are but I’m keeping it to myself as it’s quite unlikely but I’m not sure. No-one knows who Mrs. Flood is- that’s a mystery we’ll unravel together. And yeah Ncuti is TOO CUTE and charismatic. Perfect casting for the Doctor. Ooh I can’t wait for the modern episodes. There’s a lot to catch up on. I lost track when it got to Capaldis eps but I hope you enjoy it.

Doctor Who has been queer since 1963 ...I mean ....heck it was directed by a gay 🫶🌈 but Russell T Davies in 2005 made sure Dr Who was so so queer ....it's literally just remembered how delicious that is

This a great introduction to Ncuti Gatwa as The 15th Doctor and his new companion Ruby Sunday as played by Millie Gibson the story was however I didn't like the Goblin song or the Doctor and Ruby singing it felt more like "High School Musical" than "Dr. Who" I don't like that RTD is taking the fantasy route rather than hard science fiction but that's just my opinion. Mrs. Flood is a totally new character we do not yet know her bsckstory but it's pretty obvious she's another Time Lord because of her knowledge of what a TARDIS is.
