i’ve been a fan of doja for a long time. she’s always been really tiny, during her amala era (the album before hot pink) she started gaining weight. that’s when she started blowing up so people are just more used to seeing her like that, but she’s literally like 5’3 guys, she’s small asf 😭

I'm technically underweight. I eat A LOT and its still INCREDIBLY difficult for me to put on ANY weight--and yes, I've gotten rude comments about it; I'm "boney" I have "no boobs", "men dont like thin women", and those comments have ALWAYS been from other women. I don't like the way my body looks, being told over and over how tiny and boney I am just makes me only see how boney and gross I am. Its just as effed up to tell me I look skeletal as it is if I were to go up to someone and tell them they look like a beached whale (and no, im not suffering with an ed. I eat, I don't overexercise, im not the healthiest in that im in my 20s, im a smoker and i drink. I am underweight, but just by a few pounds, and it only started after I was in hospital due to a really bad case of mono over a year ago-i couldn't eat when I was sick for a month, I survived on soups and toast. I'm still trying to get back up to the weight I was before I went in to hospital.)Just like how some people have trouble KEEPING OFF weight, other people have trouble KEEPING weight ON. Worry about your own bs before attacking someone else for their weight. Ffs)

Doja's weight change is concerning. As an old Doja fan, her body has always been part of her brand. "Juicy" is a mainstream example. Doja was in shape and eating right and talked about it in her songs. She was definitely received as more of a natural talent because of the unediting of her body. Now as she gets more mainstream she gets significantly skinnier. She mentions it on her new album slightly stating "Thick as fuck, but all I eat is salad." (Get into it [Yuh]). Its confusing because now "true" fans wonder if her skinniness is another brand message or just her being overworked. Her new look and music, is giving more manufactured vibes. I would agree if her body had nothing to do with her brand, but it does.
