Nah i don't....i've noticed his early early videos kinda stink a little with this weird feeling of NoobAtMakingInternetOppinions syndrome, which early YT content used to have.... like when he attacks actual good points in movies with bad critcism, makes easy obvious jokes, talks out of bandwagon oppinion instead out of just being honest and was harsh at Mediocre At Worst movies. Only good reviews were the obviously awfull movies, Comercial Episodes and most countdowns. I'm glad he improved a lot how to judge Cinema, Shows and such.

This movie got so much wrong that it's a astounding accomplishment. Also pretty funny is the continuity errors and other flaws. Really not that damn hard to adapt the original video game but as usual hollywood creates a very unfaithful version of what is based on a video game.

It had the Fire blaster from the Batmobile from the Tim Burton Batman films. 2. The computer from Knight Rider, WarGames & Innerspace. 3. The design of the Family Truckster from National Lampoon’s Vacation. 4. And also Mr Fusion from Back to the Future. I think Bimmy & Jimmy are fans of 1980s movies

Why do video game movies never stick to the plot of the video game it's about? Tekken is the only one i can think of that at least tried to make everything identical
@MrAwsomeness360
@MrAwsomeness360 6 жыл бұрын
The problem with video game movies is that they do either extreme. They either: A) Stray too far from the source material to the point that there is no resemblance. B) Stick _TOO_ close to the source material, to the point that it looks more like the actual game instead of being treated as a movie with a three act structure. Just look at _Ratchet & Clank._ The key to making _one_ good stinkin' VG movie is to make a balance of both, try something new while keeping just enough resemblance to whatever property they're adapting from.
@MrAwsomeness360
@MrAwsomeness360 6 жыл бұрын
Another factor is simply try picking a video game that has the most potential to be adapted into film. _Metal Slug,_ for example, has a lot of potential to be adapted as an animated movie with a stylization that looks like a heavy metal version of Miyazaki and can have a story there, or maybe an _Uncharted_ movie, the games already look like they could've been directed by Spielberg himself and nobody can do adventure better than him.

Mortal Kombat actually stuck close to the original material. In MK2 (game) they retconned the story of MK1 (game) to create the backstory that the first film had: that the tournament was the one thing keeping Outworld from conquering the Earth Realm. Mortal Kombat the movie was a weird mashup of MK1 and MK2, even down to Sonya being kidnapped. Annihilation was supposed to be an adaptation of MK3 (game) but it just failed at telling the story in a meaningful way. Even Street Fighter sort of tried to stick to Guile and Chun Lee's storyline from Street Fighter II. M Bison in the game was both tournament master and international terrorist, but only Guile and Chun Li focused on that second part. The movie removed the tournament part and tried to make *everyone* focus on it.

It was pretty fun to watch this re-upload again after some time, but I realized something while watching that is quite funny. Doug, you call out the movie on having the Double Dragon arcade game inside, and it was stupidly silly to be sure... but your example is just slightly weird when you consider that Bilbo WROTE a book about his adventures which was continued by Frodo... so, not so weird in that case eh?

I'd say video game movies are somewhat starting to get better treatment these days. Wreck-it-Ralph was a hit and people even compare the concept to Roger Rabbit, and even though I've never played the franchise, I'd say Ratchet and Clank's PS4 title and its upcoming (at the time of writing this comment) reboot look damn good too.

Seriously I could imagine a Pokemon movie being incredible if they put effort into it, but most of them are just hour-long ads. Okay there's a couple good ones but there's so much POTENTIAL that's just not being capitalised on! Pokemon has this amazing science fiction world with devices that can heal a creature instantly or store it in stasis inside a computer, it has so many possible stories about fantastic original creatures and human characters with all kinds of motives! You could have someone who works protecting pokemon in the wild, or someone who joined Team Rocket because they needed money, or someone who dreams of winning the league but then changes their mind when they decided the happiness of their pokemon is more important than their own success - yes, that's right, I'm suggesting CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. Holy crud imagine showing off the incredible designs of unique pokemon like Quilava, Buizel and Umbreon to the world in a 3D animated movie, or showing off the incredible designs of towns like Ecutreak City. Holy shit people who have ignored Pokemon because it's a kids' show would be stunned by how incredible that was. Imagine the ALREADY AMAZING SOUNDTRACK - but ORCHESTRATED! Guys come on this could be amazing! This could be a massive hit! The world could be stunned by the characters, the story, the creatures, the world, the animation, the music, the ART - and instead what do we get? Oh there's a new legendary, let's have a movie where the boring main character meets it, and then nothing at all changes as a result. FFS IT'S NOT THAT HARD if I owned a big film company I'd pay for this thing, it'd be HUGE, what is the problem?! Ugh!

Funny enough, Captain America: The First Avenger did the same thing, there was a moment when a bunch were reading Captain America comics in the movie.

yes, but they at least explained that he was basically a movie star and entertainer, in this movie they never explain why or how the game and the move can exist in the same universe... I think you get what I'm saying....

Well, maybe Little Nightmares the series and the Sonic the Hedgehog movie made by the producers of Infinity War, and the Half Life and Portal movies by valvE and J.J.Abram will help video game movies. I mean, Angry Birds and Ratchet 'N' Clank were Ok!

I honestly don't get why video game movies are so hard. Like seriously what is so hard about it? I've seen video game fanfics with writing miles better than these movies. Why? Why can't the writers who studied for years... you know... WRITE?!

+Bud Charles I personally think it's because Hollywood has very little respect for Video Games, with maybe the exception of Mario (and the reason that one was bad was because it tossed around and changed so much it became a Frankenstein monster)

+Bud Charles They simply don't care and want to cash in, it's not that hard to understand. They will try to cash in on anything and everything possible. I mean people were flipping out about how poorly adapted the 50 Shades of Grey movie was to its original source... yeah, the book made famous thanks to its horrid writing and how detailed they'd get over minor BDSM which was further proof it was just a middle aged woman's wet dream and they are making it into a trilogy. Michael Bay continues to try to cash in on our childhoods... making it more like his Transformers quadrilogy (where the last one was even against his trilogy)..

I'm too lazy to go looking through all the comments to see if anyone else has said this: the appearance of the Double Dragon arcade game was meant to be a joke. As were the lines "Now who's the boss?" and "Generally I put people in the hospital."
