This song in particular made me realize I really liked Metallica. I was 12 and just couldn’t stop replaying this song. It was hypnotic.

James wrote the lyrics about his moms' bout with cancer. They are either describing the emotional pain he feels for the loss or his mother's physical pain while she was ill. "It" is basically cancer in this song.

That's actually not true. There's a clip from an interview where james says he never wrote a song about cancer

Death Magnetic and Hardwired to Self Destruct are their more metal album of the never ones. I am sure you will find more than few songs to your taste.

Load is so underrated, it’s such a dynamic album that gets overlooked because of the style of the band. Not sellout just exploring new things which I think they do very well

They were meant to be a double album but only half was done when they were playing Woodstock 2 so they released load as a single album

Back when it came out, I was in high school and my mom went to buy me the CD so that when I came back from school I could dig into it right away. Well, I was the only one to really enjoy it in my close "entourage'" at first. Bleeding Me always been a favorite of mine since then. Also, The Outlaw Torn is such a build up one. Hero Of The Day was an instant crush for me at that time. Wasting My Hate had my favorite riff. The House Jack Built had a such different vibe and I liked it. Yeah, my favorite Load tracks would go like : 1) Bleeding Me 2) The Outlaw Torn 3) Hero Of The Day 4) Wasting My Hate 5) Until It Sleeps 6) Thorn Within 7) King Nothing 8) Ain't My Bitch 9) The House Jack Built 10) Mama Said 11) 2x4 ..And Those I would skip 12) Ronnie 13) Cure 14) Poor Twisted Me
