Hi everyone. Sorry for a small typo at 7:05. There should be space here: "win 'em." (It's the informal contraction for "them.") However, this saying is used more often in spoken English, so you won't have much need to write it. ✨Want more idioms and listening practice? 📱Download the English with Jennifer Alarm Clock & Reminder app!✨ Android play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.digitalcrafthouse.englishwithjenniferalarm iOS apps.apple.com/ca/app/english-with-jennifer/id1503941354 🔹Short audio lessons to boost your English 🔹Alarms/reminders to keep your studies on track

You are one of online teachers that I watched when I first started learning English. You have helped me a lot in the beginning of my English learning journey. I cannot thank you enough. You are an amazing teacher. By the way, your lessons for beginners lately have reminded me of those wonderful lessons that you made with Natasha back then.

Hello Jennifer! Good to see you! Thanks a ton for the lesson! Listening to you today, I realized how my English knowledge is low. I've been learning English hard for five years. When I went to school, I had English classes too. I use the one in my work now. But my goal is far so far. What can I do to reach the desire destination at last? (It's a rhetorical question.) Thanks again!

You're definitely beyond the level of a beginner. You need to continue reading, listening, and seeking interaction in English. 😃 You might have luck finding a conversation partner on Hallo. Use the Instamatch. Attend a live stream and reach out to someone whose level is similar to yours and whose personality is one you can work with as a classmate. I'll do my best to add some new lessons to my app when I'm feeling better, but check out the lessons that are already there. play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.digitalcrafthouse.englishwithjenniferalarm

I love how you combined winning the elections with winning in sports. I don't like to lose when I am playing, though. 😂
@Englishwithjennifer
@Englishwithjennifer 3 жыл бұрын
No one likes losing, but it's a lot easier to lose when you truly respect the winner and appreciate what the winner accomplished. We see this more easily in events like the Olympics. A gold medal performance is often decisive. It's a shining moment in someone's career, but at the same time, it's very admirable to receive a silver or a bronze medal too!

Dear Jennifer, as far as I understand "conciding" is not a constitutional requirement. It's good manners thought.
@Englishwithjennifer
@Englishwithjennifer 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Javier. Yes, you're right. Trump doesn't have to concede publicly, but it's more than good manners. His concession would facilitate the transition from one administration to the other. He has the right to ask for a recount. He has the right to go to the courts. But once the recounts are confirmed and certified, and once the courts rule in Biden's favor, he'll have to accept the outcome. Biden's presidency will officially begin in January no matter what. I think Trump has the right to pursue the legal channels that are open to him, but he's familiar with competition, and I think he'll eventually recognize he's fighting a losing battle.

In 2013 Taylor Swift was such a sore loser at the Golden Globes . Taylor gave Adele a dirty look when Adele was walking up to the stage to accept her award for the best original song.

That's a good real-life example. I didn't watch that event, so I don't know that moment. Both women are very talented. It can be hard to lose, especially when people expect you to win. I remember Nicole Kidman was visibly disappointed when she didn't win for her amazing performance in Moulin Rouge, but she held it together and was able to applaud the winner. I like Nicole, and I admire her for getting through that moment.
