Move Abroad And Thrive

Move Abroad And Thrive

Жыл бұрын

Living in Merida and visiting Merida as a tourist are two totally different things. I'm often asked by visitors 'what's happening today in Merida', or 'what are you doing today'?
And I'm like ... I'm cleaning my house today! Or I'm taking the kids to the dentist! Or, I'm sitting on my sofa and binge watching my shows on Netflix!
Take a look and hope you find value!

A Day in the Life with the Ross Family was a fun video. What makes your everyday living great is it is affordable, beautiful surroundings and safe for your entire family to be out and about. Loved it. Btw, my root canal cost me $500.00 10 years ago and that was with great dental insurance here in California. Thanks for the ride along today Cartess and Kim.

Hey Cartess, I totally understand everything you’re saying about all those roundabouts and I drive like they drive, I’m here for a month and I’m so in love with Merida, I totally listen to all your video’s and take notes, I have a rent a car from Temco and I used your name and I dealt with Debbie she’s so nice, I was in the Montebello area in a Airbnb, but I’m now in Caucel for the remainder of the month so Thank you

Love your videos. I am a former experienced motorcycle driver. There is one very very important thing that seems to be absent from most reviews. The small diameter tires are very “unstable” for lack if a better word. Small rocks, small potholes, and even small imperfections in the asphalt make it very difficult to maintain control. It is very easy to crash a bike with small wheels. If they have models with bigger wheels I would seriously consider them instead
@MoveAbroadandThrive
@MoveAbroadandThrive 6 ай бұрын
Ahhh... Thanks for that valuable tip. I have noticed these motorcycles with 'small diameter tires'... Heck, it's easy to lose control in a car on these roads, so i can't even imagine on a motorcycle.

Hi Cartess! Thank you for this Day in Life style video. It's helpful to see how a normal day can flow. It really hit home when you spoke about the single mother who was working 3 jobs who is now able to relocate there, work 1 remote job, and actually spend time with her children. I'm a single mother, working 3 part-time jobs as a Nurse in MS, and I'm still not able to afford the lifestyle and time with my son that I'd like to have. Your channel gives such inspiration and, you provide real life perspectives and resources that are unrivaled here on KZfaq. Thank you for these videos! Question...Do you all have health insurance or do you just allocate savings to pay cash upfront for medical expenses/emergencies that occur since they are so reasonably priced compared to their costs in the States?
@liswan26
@liswan26 Жыл бұрын
I think most people save for medical expenses. If you work remotely and get paid US dollars, even if it's a minimum wage it puts you in middle class income in Mexico, which helps you afford medical appts, rent, leisure etc. A dr visit for my toddler's ear infection with medicine was about 20 dollars for me last year. A removal of my wisdom tooth, along with x rays was about 80 dollars. Unexpected things will come up, the main thing is to live comfortably but not carry the "American" lifestyle. I like this channel because he is truly honest on ways to live a good life, without falling prey on the trying to impress mentality of U.S. I've been visiting Merida to move there, and compared to other Mexican states I've scouted, it definitely has a very peaceful vibe, If you consider it, definitely try to live like a local. You pay cheap rent, assimilate better, and learn to save money like locals. Once I learned of the bus that takes you from Merida to the beach for about $1.50 I said why would I spend on an Uber $30.00 dollars for it? I really hope you jump on it. Its a scary decision but I do think it will improve your quality of life and of your kids.

34:00 Before things got messed up? Americans use to eat Steak and Eggs each day with WHOLE Milk that was much more like Half and Half and closer to heavy whipping cream. And if it was not for the lead and industrial pollutants like cadmium from coal etc. , they were pretty darn healthy! All I am saying is that you should have some Balance. So Make sure to get in those veggies that are amazing. But at the same time? CUT OUT PROCESSED SUGAR! I never heard of anyone getting sick of eating Honey. Same thing with STEVIA LEAF or even Xylitol. I started drinking TEA instead of Coffee drinks each day and it has done WONDERS for me! Cutting out the sugar and bread and Massive empty carbs really does make a BIG difference. Coconuts are a SUPERFOOD! And before? They use to make ALL popcorn with Coconut oil. It use to be one heck of a Healthy Snack and topping it with Butter was wonderful! Now they make all our food with the cheapest of the cheap. And even the food you do get? For some strange reason, you can go to get some Fast food, and you are still hungry after eating a whopper! So they HAVE to put something in the food that makes you feel hungry? They have too! Now try that with Natural food stuffs? You don't gorge yourself! I did that today where I have been eating more indian food. You just don't feel hungry anymore after you had just a little bit. It is truly something to think about. Keep eating the Atkins like diet. But throw in all the green superfoods you can. My advice to anyone going to Mexico? BUY FARM LAND! Or land you can at least Farm on. Raise Chickens, geese, etc free range. Same with Cows, and other livestock. Chemical free non GMO food is what you want to have. And MEXICO is the HEARTLAND of good honest food.

My mom had triple bypass surgery in December. She was eating keto for a year, then went full carnivore before having her heart attack. Her cardiologist told her no more of either. Low fat, plant based with lean meats. Fish, chicken, Turkey. Lots of greens and fruit. No fried foods. Honestly, they all say so much, and it’s all different. Who the heck knows?

What about a real e bike? I love mine. You can pedal it after the 40 mile battery dies. The drawback is it costs more than double that $700 for a good brand bike with Samsung BATTERY cells. The battery is probably the most expensive part. See how the warranty is. It should still give you 80% charge after 1 year.
