Galadriel glows white because she was born in Valinor (the undying lands in the West) and came to Middle Earth as part of the events of the Silmarillion (another Tolkien book that is too long to summarize here). The elves are returning to Valinor after a long exile (again due to the Silmarillion events). Also, Viggo Mortenson really did swat that knife out of the air as it was thrown towards him during that last fight with the big orc. Finally, Gimli asked Galadriel for a single hair, and she gave him three, to which Legalos smiled. During the Silmarillion, there was a powerful elf named Feanor who asked Galadriel three times for a single strand of her hair, and she denied him each time. Tolkien really created an entire world with who histories to give each action in this story more meaning, for anyone willing to look for them.

This was originally written as one book, but the publisher thought it was too long and made Tolkien break it into a trilogy. That's why the first book ends so abruptly.

to carry the ring you must have a pure heart , a heart hard to corrupt , which is why Frodo is the best they got . he's got that ring for a long time already and he's still not evil . the elf queen was honest enough to admit that if she carried the ring it would corrupt her , turn her into a feminazi elf queen , which is why she refused it

The more powerful the person, the more evil the ring would cause in their hands. This is why Gandalf refused to take the ring, and same for Galadriel. And it's also why the hobbits are less corrupted by it.

In order to control people, the One Ring uses what is in the hearts of those who see or touch it to tempt them with power. Men like Boromir, who greatly desire power, even if it's with good intent, are (as the opening narration said) easily corrupted. Hobbits mostly just want a simple, peaceful life, so there's less for it to use.

Galadriel isn’t evil, on the contrary, she’s amazingly good, she’s also a bit scary though. She has literally lived among what we would consider gods.

I’m glad y’all liked the movie. Always great to see the birth of new Lord of the Rings fans. It’s such an amazing world shared by so many people. J.R.R. Tolkien was one incredible writer.

Dang, I watched all three thinking these were old reactions but they're new and now I have to wait to see my Two Towers 😂 You guys are fun tho, I didn't know what to expect when I chose your reactions to watch LotR with and you're both very attentive and I can tell the movie at LEAST is genuinely holding your interest.

Gandalf and the other wizards are Maiar. They are sort of like angels. The Balrog is also Maiar.

The ring makes Frodo open his hand and expose the ring to more easily seduced people...like men. The ring has a relationship with him now and it will try to make him do things that benefit itself. The ring "has a will of its own". Extended editions are a must for the second two movies...or you will ask a few questions at the end that are answered in the extended. Enjoy your journey...
