I love how they keep pronouncing Abstergo, "Aspergo" as if it's an artificial sweetener hahaha. Seriously though, listening to an Assassin's Creed TTRPG with the actual Abubakar Salim playing the actual Bayek of Siwa... so good. Even if no-one on the show acknowledged it, hearing him sneak in a "Siwa will never know peace" was excellent hahaha.

Historical settings are tricky unless you are a history major but Skidd did a great job. Also AC games take some liberties with historical facts so a GM shouldnt worry to much

I recently started replaying the Assassin's Creed series from the beginning (just starting Brotherhood), so I was really excited to see you guys do this. Interestingly enough, I've never played Origins so my only exposure to Abu has been through Haunted City and now this. I cannot wait to get to Origins and see his performance as Bayek now. Excellent show, everyone.

Sydney is cracking me up this episode, Troy is as usual playing something crazy. Anyways, in the early to mid bronze age the ships were the weapons. The front would have had a large copper or bronze ramming beam, one of the reasons rowing on beat is important. The first Roman navy had ships with a grappling bridges to compensate for being inexperienced rowmen and marines compared to Carthage.

18:30 dont know if reading this but there is a vtt called Alchemy that may help with this. the vtt is specifically design to easily show scenes to players and viewers and its easily more shareable then how foundry does it with foundry is very technical. its supposed to be more theater of mind focus vtt. does have a grid which is fairly new but alot of ppl use it for no grid rpgs like vampire, fallout, blades and such. you can even easily apply animated scenes and tracks to make it more immersive.

The Romans didn't actually use galley slaves, nor did the ancient Greeks. They'd all have been free men, though poor of course. Ben Hur shouldn't be trusted for any sort of historical accuracy

Sydneys rule about no eating onboard the ship would make it hard to keep free sailors unless they only did river runs and went ashore to eat each time

Just out of pedanticism, it is pronounced Key-nay not coin-ay (at least in Modern Greek) Coin-ay is correct in a broader sense (and probably how it was said in Ptolemaic Egypt) but not a Modern Greek sense.

Also.... Bayek demonstrably speaks Latin. He literally would have needed to in order for Origins to make sense. He speaks with Caesar and has lines towards random Roman guards, who definitely wouldn't know Greek or Coptic.

Troy was a great action movie, but it was a horrible retelling of The Illiad.
