Random shoutout to Justin for just consistently being a pleasure , really appreciate your specific flavor of games and opinions , I feel guilty for under appreciating you, but I’ve come to realize it’s because you’re consistently great at being you that I almost don’t even think about it, but every time you’re on you crush it, keep on keeping on

Justin convinced me to try out Stardew Valley. That makes me thankful enough to forgive his Red Dead 2 opinion. :P The daughter anecdote at the end was a pure delight. I am expecting my first child - a daughter too! - next month so hearing/reading Justin's parenting tales on Scoop and Twitter resonate so much with my excitement.

On Justin's fear about trying to Pause cutscenes and fearing you accidentally skip it instead - I've found the Home/PS button to be a good alternative since it suspends the game. But yeah, the fear is real lol
@HardcoreGamer1015084 жыл бұрын
The thing is, there are some games where the cutscenes keep going even when you temporarily go to the PS home screen. I think Sekiro did that?

While I admittedly haven't played it yet (backlog ahoy!), since we're being thankful this episode (even though I'm from Australia), thank you for your contribution to the game and the medium/industry. Not often we get to thank people directly for their efforts so I figured, why not take the opportunity. So yeah, thanks mate!

Do other viewers also notice Justin’s signature post-speaking deep inhale? He doesn’t do it after everything he says, just after saying things he feels might be controversial (my theory). Anyway, I’m deeply grateful for all these dudes and ladies, for their quirks and their personalities, and for getting to share in their collective joy. Thank you for Game Scoop!

Im thankful for The Last Of Us. The 1st game in my life where i choked up, now that is special for me. And Silent Hill 2 is the only game that actually gave me cold sweat from playing. Also a first. So i thank those games for pushing limits in games to heights i thought was unachievable! Going round 3 now with The Last Of Us before the epic continuation of this masterful story driven perfection, i cannot even imagine the heights it will reach both technically & emotionally! Games = Art because of what i just explained, like a movie makes you cry and freak you out, games are there with you as an active participator of molding your own live movie with a masterful blueprint that can be manipulated by the person behind the controller...now that is MAGIC!!!

Thanks for answering my question! I wholeheartedly agree that if the advertising makes some sort of sense for the world the game has built, then it’s way less offensive. I’d also add that games made specifically for advertising a real-world product are a pretty mixed bag but there have for sure been some gems (Cool Spot, Pepsiman, Yo Noid, etc). Also I was FOR SURE flexing on y’all. Bring it on anytime. 😎 😎😎 Keep up the great work! Always a pleasure tuning in every week.

There's been plenty of Pre-Black Friday deals for Switch (the new version) for less than $300 with a game. Even the Switch LITE was down to $175 yesterday.

I am thankful for how organised Tina is for each episode. The perfect complement to Sam's chaos with the random sound clip button presses and fiddlin' with Ricardo. Though they both ended up playing with Ricardo so maybe Sam's a bad influence. XD The discussion on the varying review scores between regional IGN outlets was interesting. What Justin and Tina suggest re: getting a feel for what critics approximate your own tastes in gaming is how I have approached reviews for many years now. IGN's podcasts certainly have helped with working out who are closer to my tastes too. Something I appreciate about Beyond and NVC recently is the post-review roundtable discussions for major releases. I like the interplay between differing opinions they offer which offers more feedback to the listener to make an informed purchase decision - especially if there's a question over the critic responsible for the review itself has substantially different tastes to the reader. I think it'd be great if IGN could incorporate such dynamics into their main review content in some way - it might cut back on the ridiculous angst over review scores. Though the podcasts themselves certainly do a good job providing those perspectives as is (maybe advertise them in the review article?).
@NismoR0344 жыл бұрын
Just want to piggyback off of this comment to say that I, too, appreciate that Tina takes the time to prepare her answers. This is not a criticism of Justin in any way but you see in this episode the difference between her using her notes and his inability to remember game titles in the moment (which is very hard) and it's just a great example of the difference being prepared can make. As said above, it complements the more free-form nature from Justin and Sam, and the guiding hand throughout the show that Daemon brings as host. So thank you Tina, but also thanks to the rest of the crew for the spontaneous thoughts and random answers that come from not being prepared as well.

I believe the reason why Nintendo didn't patch games on the Wii was that it just wasn't possible. Same reason why there wasn't any DLC for the Wii either. The flash memory didn't allow for it.

There has been some great games this year. Outer Worlds is a dream come true for an Og Fallout NV fan. Sekiro had the best souls combat that has ever ever been made.By far Days Gone was my favorite game of this year. I replayed it 3 times. I think its criminally underrated from the media.

This is the perfect group. The fantastic four. I wish this was a daily show. With each having different tastes, you get many different views. Love the show. For me reviews, don’t affect whether I buy a game or not. When it comes to spending $60 I’m trusting my opinion only. I usually look for gameplay videos more then anything. Ones that don’t spoil or ruin the game. I will lookup reviews now and again. But I just don’t trust them. Especially with what I have read and seen with reviews. The surge 2 is an example. I got the game and loved it. I looked into reviews because some had really different scores. One review said the look was of the environment was bad and the enemies were boring but another review said the environment looked great and the enemies were refreshing or something like that. It’s like 2 different games were reviewed. I get personal opinions are what reviews are, but certain aspects should differ that much. I remember someone reviewed Quantum Break and the reviewer was surprised that the game got any good reviews because he said it was a bad game. Again reviews can differ but when one reviewer gives a game a 6 and another reviewer gives that same game a 9 it’s like they reviewed 2 different games. DS is a perfect example of this. Dan giving it a 6.8 and others giving 8s and a some 9s. When there is such a huge disparity in a score like that and it’s usually only 1 or 2 reviews that are like that to me that means the reviewer just was the wrong person to review the game. If the game got most 8s and a few 9s but has this really low score for a review that tells me that person doesn’t play those games. I seen this happen with the last Batman game. The reviewer game it a 7 something. When he talked about his review he came out and said that he doesn’t play these types of games.

Game breaking bug in Nintendo game on the Wii. Sam, you were thinking of Zelda: Skyward Sword. If you talked to a certain Goron at the wrong time/out of order. The next progression event would permanently fail to trigger. Nintendo put out a free app on the eShop that you would use to fix the game if you hit the bug.

I think stories can be "serious" and absurd at the same time...though Death Stranding doesn't always do it well. And I would be upset if Activision for example did product placement, but because that would be so clearly a corporate decision. With DS, it's Kojima deciding for his own game. I just want the liberty

How to detract publishers from inserting obnoxious product placements? Everytime you see one, don't buy that product for a week. The same could go for microtransactions. If you encounter a player online who has clearly spent a lot on microtransactions, block them. Eventually, these behaviours will be corrected. Goose Camp viewers you have the power.
