Garden clean up is here so plant waste disposal using fall chop and drop is my method and most important squash bug control practice while getting the garden ready and prepared for next year. If you want to know how to prevent being infested with stink bugs and the leaf footed bug as soon as your plants start to flourish then you really should consider this vital information when dealing with your garden waste recycling efforts and possibly stop using garden waste as mulch. It's likely your own soil and garden waste is where stink bugs come from and the bug eggs on the plant material will hatch while that garden waste is composting into the soil. Your fall gardening is when to chop and drop your plants to destroy stink bugs and such egg laying critters ahead of time. Share! Share! Share!
May all your branches become full of fruit.

Tom, did you know that you can overwinter some plants ( considered annuals) and get a jump start on next years growing season. Look at such plants as tomaroes, peppers (night shade plants).

This is great idea. Do you use crop rotation too?

I have and do but I also have figured that I don't need to concern myself with it so much so long as the soil is healthy. If I develop any type of disease in the future then I will give that more consideration if needed.

Do you think that with time and equilibrium of pest/beneficial can be reached so that we don't have to be so much concerned with these pest?

I think in the undisturbed nature that it's possible but It doesn't seem to be so easy in our unnatural gardens and production fields. When we grow our variety of non-native foods (for that particular piece of land) in concentrated gardens and fields then we are basically doing something un-natural so that we don't have to resort to the 'Hunter / Gather' methods of the past, so then I think we have to give a little more effort to the process to keep things in balance. We will (rightly so) have less of nature (beneficials) in our gardens due to our daily activities in and around our gardens. The lack of birds around the garden is a good example, they have less protection in the open area and our activity or presence scare the shit out of them. That's just one example though. Thanks.

I think we can't eliminates them forever only can control em.just like weeds anyway great stuff.. Whatabout jadam solutions?
@3basketliving
@3basketliving 3 жыл бұрын
I haven't developed the JADAM solutions as of yet such as the wetting agent. Just that alone seems to be able to handle a lot of the bugs but the wetting agent is just pretty much a Real Natural Soap like the or equal to Castile soap which I use BUT I do need to start making it myself. Either way, I have to purchase from outside sources.
