This case is proof that you should always trust your first instinct. Anytime someone tells you to only deal with them and not contact someone that you know well, it’s a giant red flag.

If the defendant had stayed off the drugs before the show he might have been able to keep his lies straight.

I'm just amazed how many times his story didn't make sense. First he said he was in a party and somebody used a bunch of phones then he said he slept in a stripper's house and she took his phone... First he said he never dealt with her and then he said that he did for a while and then it was someone else dealing with her... Come on man. He doesn't even know what kind of relationship he's in. Poly doesn't mean sleeping around with other people, it means you can love and be in a relationship with more than one person. I believe what he meant is an open relationship which is very different.

I actually know this man. Going on 17 years or something like that. And we still speak pretty regularly. He was excited to show me this. Also, this is his energy 24/7. (Unless he’s too incoherent for basically anything). This most definitely was not just an act for tv. The saddest part is that the man that died was actually one of his best friends. I met him a time or two as well. I never thought he was capable of sinking this low but he never seizes to amaze me.

This needs to be a lesson to all, in these days of crowd-sourcing, that people due diligence is required on the part of the donor. I have donated to GoFundMe, for individuals whose story I either know personally, or was able to verify outside of GFM. There are plenty of individuals out there with big hearts that want to help, and maybe feel questioning some of these sources is wrong in the time of illness, personal tragedy or grief, but that only helps protect families from individuals scamming in the name of their loved one(s). In this case, in the name of the woman's son.

Some people are so naive. I'm told I'm suspicious all the time! I just don't trust humans but a little. I know people are people unpredictable.

This is exactly why PayPal has goods & services and family & friends. You use goods & services with people you don’t know, you pay a couple extra dollars, and you’re protected to get your money back if you get scammed or the item arrives damaged.
