Why did I take the chance of getting another rifle from Royal Tiger Imports?? Well in this video, we unbox the Carcano 1891 Cavalry Carbine, but these Carcanos that are available are actually from Italy. The Italian surplus is better than the Ethiopian surplus that RTI has been known for. Many people have had many complaints dealing with the Ethiopian batch, especially in regards to condition and functionality. The upside to the Ethiopian batch was that many of these historic relics Haven't been imported into the country in decades. There were also some rarities in the batch. The Ethiopian surplus Carcanos were rough, and many of them had poor bores and weren't very accurate. I am hoping I can test out a Carcano from the Italian surplus batch, which I assume is also available elsewhere like Classic. Well, RTI had a Black Friday special I couldn't refuse. I just had to get one and had to decide whether to get a WW1 or WW2 era one. So in this video, we unbox a good bore and condition hand select Italian Surplus Carcano Cavalry Carbine. Fingers crossed when I go to the range and hope to not be disappointed.

RTI has such a bad rep, I was hesitant to order from them when J&G was competitively priced. Looks like you have a real fine carbine. Look forward to seeing the video about how it shoots

I would guess that’s because it’s Italian surplus and not Ethiopian. I’ve seen some others who got pretty nice Carcanos from them recently.

I got one very similar from DK firearms, who was selling Italian surplus before RTI got a hold of the Italian stuff. Mine came with surface rust but cleaned up great. Looking to get a WW1 example one of these days from RTI

I have bought two Carcano’s so far, one from PSA (in good shape-dirty as hell though). The other was a Italian Vetterli, that was from RTI. It was in ok shape, decided to refinish it completely (wood and metal) so far so good (still working on it).
@BattlefieldCurator
@BattlefieldCurator Жыл бұрын
Awesome, you plan to shoot the Vetterli? I know C&Rsenal had issues when they were test firing Italian Vetterli rifles, so much so that it was definitely not safe

@@BattlefieldCurator Not sure, I saw video from The!oba49, and he recommends shooting it with recommends loading it with extremely light loads. Since I don’t reload (yet) it will probably become a wall hanger. You know what, I am fine with that.

Hey Dan you know what i have found with the carcanos is the 6 shot clip.. The 6 rd. does not feed correctly it just points up in the mag well and will not chamber. Dan take that one out to the range and shoot it and see if that is the case. THANKS @RUSTYSURPLUS
@BattlefieldCurator
@BattlefieldCurator Жыл бұрын
Yes I’ve noticed that with some rifles and with some clips. One particular clip doesn’t do that, except in a couple refurbished rifles. I’ll probably do a video on it.

@@BattlefieldCurator Hi Dan i have asked around on the 6th round not feeding and know one has the answer. It must be in the clip. I am sure when these were in real service they had to work perfectly and feeding the 6th round. OK see ya soon
