KZfaq decided to put a publicity interruption in the middle of David's electric solo... I really don't have words to describe how traumatic that experience was. Just wanted to share my pain and hate.

This song is a masterpiece. My favorite song of all time. I was 16 years-old when I first heard it and just fell in love with it and it's taken me nearly 30 years to truly understand the lyrics ("...leaving the myriad small creatures trying to tie us to the ground...to a life consumed by slow decay", "...looking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind us...to a glimpse of how green it was on the other side") . I now have a 16 year-old son myself. He recently heard me listening to the song and said, "Who's that? It's really good." I sat down with him and told him how much the song meant to me and told him to listen to it again 30 years later to see if the meaning of the song grows over time for him too. I can only hope he'll be telling my grandkids years from now how much the song means to him...and his dad.

This song just spoke to me at a time when i needed something to help me deal with losing my best mate and hero. 30 years later i still have a tear or two when I hear this song. The church bell in the off beat., the complexity of the lyrics that evoke a storyboard in the mind. The pace of the song. The way prattys bass plays select notes only to leave space for the song the breath. How do you compose this?!! The snare rolls in the middle eight balanced with the strings. The solo at the end. It’s a one off. In 200,years they will be playing pink floyd. It’s in a level of the greatest artists and poets. One song listened a thousand times each time evoking a different emotion. Incredible
