I am not a professional resume writer. I don't work on people's resumes but I am just sharing what I did to my resume to get multiple callbacks and interviews for six-figure roles. I do work in tech so keep in mind as well.
this is also not for inexperienced people or transitioning ones. this is me as an experienced professional in my field of work.

I do agree with the summary at the top. I got rid of mines as well. Now I will say this because I do resumes ALOT. If you are transitioning to a new field then the summary is needed. Because you have to convince the recuiter. Yes the one pager does work. It took me a minute to get to the one page you can do it.

😅 The resume laziness is real! 😩 You have to put in work. And I feel like you have to put in "resume work" per job application you submit 😒 It's tiring, but when you're seeking that amazing role you want...you make that time.

I’ve got a lazy resume too and I was working on it yesterday. I combined some job experience but I still have to get the resume to under 2 pages. I just can’t let go the past because it’s got good diversified experience. If I’m asked about something I haven’t done in years, I’m going to just tell them that. Can’t stay on top of everything, but I’ve learned it once, I can certainly get back up to speed again. Boom!
@certifiedcurls

I know it's hard when you have so much experience! 2 pages personally I think is fine... I never had an issue with 2 pages lol. I seem to get the worse people interviewing me when they ask me about my older experience. I say I haven't touched that in a while so I don't remember much then they just . "Hmmm... okay"😅

@@certifiedcurls LOL at their response to you . \_(ツ)_/¯ I know they get the fact that if you don’t use it, you lose it. There’s no way I can get this resume down to 1 page though. I would have to be a better writer or hire a resume writer. I guess having a lot of experience is a good problem to have. I recall the days when I struggled to put anything on my resume. Now, that was tough

Thank you for this. I am transitioning to a network engineer role and having a hard time getting an interview. I came from a helpdesk position so creating the resume to apply as a net engr has been really hard. Any chance you can share your resume, ofc without your personal info or whatnot.

It can be a bit difficult finding a network engineer role. Coming from help desk have you thought about maybe looking at network admin positions? It can help transition much easier to a neteng.

@@certifiedcurls thanks for the reply. Tbh, I don't have an idea what the differences are for the Network roles. I mean, maybe for the NOC role but the net engr/admins/analyst, that I'm not sure. Just got my CCNA last August and didn't know this was going to be a hard transition lol.

@@certifiedcurlsyou are spot on! Currently updated my current resume to apply for a job doing exactly what I do now(Net. Admin-55k) to (Net. Admin -110k). Requirements for the role are the exact same. I will absolutely take out all bullet points except the ones that supports all projects/goals completed and leading or being huge part of change/collaboration, all education I have or am getting, skills tailored to my field and getting rid of my summary! Thanks this probably got me the job here. Lol. I will be back with the final results.

@certifiedcurls
@certifiedcurls 2 жыл бұрын
There are entry level NOC roles and roles that require more experience as well. It's the same as other jobs in that aspect because you're always going to need more experienced people for escalations

NOC Have multiple levels. 3-5 or more. At the top levels you basically got CCIE realm warrior. DBZ level fighters. But also their job role wont be service desk or noc analyst or something lol. NOC usually refers to the level 1 teams. Rarely lvl 2.

Thank you for another great and informative video! Getting your resume right is so important and I appreciate your recommendations. I'm bout to go and delete my "What I am looking for" line at the top of my joint right now😁. Quick question, should you put your certification and achievement badges on your resume or should you just write what you have?. I know you said to be mindful of the number of pages. Again thanks for the tips and I look 4ward 2 another banger! Cheers

Your continuous support is amazing thank you❤️❤️ Honestly, I don't know. I know for me I just wrote them down especially if you are applying to a large company that uses a program to parse the resumes, I doubt it will catch the badges but I know it will catch the words. But not a resume writer so that's just my suspicions lol
