How I was rejected by Google during my MBA recruiting interview and what I have learned from this recruiting experience. Hi everyone my name is Linchen, I am a recent MBA graduate from Cornell Johnson and I'm current working in the tech industry in the West Coast.
With the fall recruiting season coming up for business school students, I hope this video gives a bit of insights as to how MBA recruiting was like prior to Covid-19 pandemic and what are some of the things to expect. I hope my video also helps putting things in perspective that the success or failure in one interview does not define our MBA experience and there are so much more to it.

Hey Lichen, thank for sharing your story. Just curious, what did you study during your undergrad, your working exp prior to your MBA, and your GMAT score? I'm trying to follow a path similar to yours a few years down the note, hence the curiosity.

Hi Nathaniel, I studied accounting/finance undergrad and worked in finance functions within an MNC. Might make a video of my pre-mba experience in future. Got 700 in GMAT. All the best to ur future plans 👍🏻

@@AhBoyInUSA Thanks for answering!! I assumed you were gunning for various M7s/T15s during the application process. It will be awesome if you could also make a video pertaining the application process, what were your thoughts, and some practical concerns to look out for (for example, perhaps an ORM like us Singaporeans may require a 740 GMAT to be competitive for M7s etc - I'm not fully aware but based on lurking around reddit and GMATclub it seems being a Singaporean seems to fall under the ORM bracket oo). Looking forward to your subsequent videos!!

What is your take on recruiting during your second year?

Most ppl would try to secure an return offer from internship so they do not have to re-recruit in 2nd year. But there’s fair share of opportunities in 2nd year too, usu companies on-campus recruit for both internship & full-time roles. I would say full-time recruiting is less structured, more self-driven since many full-time roles are just-in-time where you apply to roles like regular applicants in the Mar-June period
