John can you talk about the story where Vic sent a message to Joey Merlino about sending Luchesse guys to Philly over some beef & Joey sent a message back saying they’ll be returned to New York in body bags

I think Joey Merlino needs to think about who & what he is. I meet Joey at Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut myself and a couple friends were playing blackjack when Joey sat at the same table as us. It took me an hour or so to realize who it was. But naturally we all start talking at the table. After about 2-3 hours we were getting ready to walk from the table we say good luck we shake hands Joey stopped us and asked if we wanted to go have a drink. My friends didn’t have a clue who he was till after we left and I told them but I immediately said no thanks. We all (my friends, myself, Joey, the guys he was with) lost a big chunk of change maybe that’s why he asked I don’t know. It seemed a bit odd to me that someone in his position would ask guys he just met to and have drinks. But after hearing these stories it seems like Joey is extremely approachable. Just figured I’d tell my Joey Merlino story.. As usual JP good stuff!!

From we hat I have heard and seen an also read, everything is giving me the impression that Merlino had more balls then everyone,that he came into contact with!!!

So, out of the two part story, what I get out of it was Joe Cafe was not respected by his own family, by the family in Philly and by his nephew, who wouldn't take no for an answer by anyone.

I remeber this Merlino kid. I used to call him Jose.

Say what ya like abt the Philly/Bruno Family.... They're some serious guys! Just look! From Skinny Razor, to even Angelo Bruno, who ran Philly FOREVER, w/a vice-like grip, to the absolute bloodthirsty maniac Nicky Scarfo, to the zip boss John Stanfa, to now, Skinny Joey.... All deadly, serious bosses.

Was Bay Ridge home to alot of members of that life ?
