Really loved this insights from this video! Well studied and put together as always. I think what some people need to realise more often is that everyone has different starting bases and different stats, which greatly impacts their skills progress. You've addressed it aptly in this video. On an unrelated note, would you be up for a static sesh/meetup sometime down the line? Would love to collab and meet a likeminded calisthenics athlete. I'm in Sheffield so it shouldn't be too hard to set something up!

Great video! I can'r stress enough how important the mindset is, I've seen countless guys with a bad mindset getting no progress or injured. It's a vicious cycle, but reversing it makes it a wonderful virtuous cycle: health of the mind brings health of the body! Just to precise one thing: Niko has been doing sw for 10 years but did a long pause so it's possible that muscle memory kicked in a bit. He's nonetheless a great guy and trains in a very smart way.

the high intensity method got me the ring one arm chin up several times, quite fast.....however it always came paired with either an elbow or shoulder severe tendinopathy that would cancel all my efforts. I'm just getting back into callisthenics after focusing on classic weightlifting for a while. Right now I have tennis elbow from back levers haha....maybe the volume freak method is the way to go.. I'll take care of hydration, eat more proteins, have regular deloads, supplement in omega 3s, maybe use daily or weekly undulating periodization. Dude i have a suggestion for you in terms of your planche training if bands arent a option or available!. It is try to use the wall the same way as you would do for handstands. The backside of the body facing the wall. By that i mean try to put your hands closer or father away from the wall and lean your head into it while keeping the forward lean and elbow lockout. we often forget to include what the athlete has been doing before he started to train for planche or calisthenics... was he lifting weights before he started calisthenics? or was he doing hard labour or was he a farmer? did he spend his freetime outside of his house doing some sort of activities where he had to move around all the time? was he maybe a climber? or did he do judo or wrestling? you know all this things matter because he has the base for calisthenics... it will be easier to progress... but for those who were not that active in their life before starting calisthenics, they are gonna have trouble with progressing

@@TheJackedVegan I’m currently 38 years old, 190 cm 70 kg. Took me 4 fakking years without skipping a single training to get a 7 sec full planche hold with 4 kg. assistance bra. Al those quick planche achievements on KZfaq make me sad. I know people don’t want to hear that planche takes multiple years for the normal people to achieve but it’s the truth. Anyone who does it within 74 days has a extreme level of basic pushing strength combined with extreme genetics.

@@alexm3046 bro, I learnt muscle up (ring and bar) inside 3 weeks, front lever inside one year, current hold 20 sec. clean form, one arm pull up 3 reps each arm. I do 4 sec full planche hold with only 2 kg. assistance. Full planche hold without assistance but with bad form. And you think I lack basic strength 😅 strength and muscle mass (hypertrophy) are two different things.
@984elite
@984elite Жыл бұрын
@@alexm3046 also a plateau has nothing to do with muscle mass. Hitting a plateau is the lack of a new impulse, not enough effort intensity, or both, but it’s completely normal to plateau sometimes, progress is never in a straight line and in the end of the day you have to grind it out. It goes with ups and downs. Planche just takes a lot of time, you can be crazy strong but if your wrists can’t take the load in that angle your body isn’t ready to planche yet, planche is also a lot of balance for tall people and you need a lot more lean then short people. I’m not here for advice, I’m here to say that planche can take multiple years, and that is completely normal. The problem with these vids is that it demotivates a lot of people because they think that it van be done inside 70 days. But that is KZfaq nowadays, 70 day planche will get you views. A planche journey that takes years does not score and is not interesting for views and all that shit.

This video is trash. Plain and simple and anyone who trains planche seriously will tell you this. its not possible to go from zero to planche in that time, literlaly not even close and anyone I dont care who they are or how they train saying otherwise is quite simply talking the biggest pile of garbage and its VERY BAD information for begginers who get a complete bullshit idea on expectations. Planche will NEVER be possible unless you are coming at it from gymnastics or something similar with a lot of pre prep and high end work, in less than 1 year. Normal people should expect 1-2 years solid disciplined training. Its hard, its repetitive but thats the only way because muscle and tendon growth takes time, it will not ever grow in that short a period of time, its just cant be done. You need to seriously understand what you are asking your body to do here, its asking it to perform the superhuman from zero and it WILL take you a hell of a lot to achieve. It can be done by anyone with the will and dedication for it, but not in that timeframe, so starting with anything less than a mindset to make training something you live and accept as part of your life, fail. Dont start. Watching crap like this and deluding yourself as to what you are getting into, worse. No serious Cali trainer would ever come out with this garbage. @@wallesdrop3026

Now I can do 4 reps strict form (legs not crossed or bend, straigth body) with 30 kg. But I have a doubt if I'm not progressing with them fast enough. I couldn't find a good timeline to compare myself. Am I progressing slow?

I think more than enough. I have similar progress right now, got from +32kg pullups 3×3 up to 5×5 in a month. I figured this out by comparing with really good guys like Vitaliy Feschuk. I heard from him that he had +10kg progress every year (in pullups for 1 rep). I dont know how strong he was there, probably not +30kg, instead +60, where it is harder to progress, but anyway it's about 1 kg in 1 moth. You have +30 for 4, it's probably like +34 for 1 rep. So yea, about 4 times faster than one od the greatest streetlifting athlets of all time🙃

Elias him self does not even train weighted calisthenics and similar, and allways says specificity is king, hance if u want lever skills train horizontal strength, not vertical. But vertical is allways good to train too, it will supplement to your planche, fl or what ever. But i dont think elias would have said that u should do weighted pullups for fl. (Atleast that is not how he got it)

It's easy to do chalistenic skills if your only goal is to reach them,but if you want good fitness,those skills will not help you with anything,but you can still learn them,though much slower,so I am gonna say it straight how you can learn any chalistenic skill as fast as possible:Be low body fat percentage,the lower the easier the skills..Never train legs(sounds stupid,but yeah),less weight on the legs means less strength required,eat a healthy diet,sleep enough,never train cardio ever,never train anything else that might affect your main muscles so that you take more time to recover(like flexibility,mobility,balance,though you need a bit of that),train 2 times a day(and I mean it,when you train skills the recovery time is verry fast,because you don't do many reps as to get sore,you more or less train for max strength) and tran as often as possible,also don't eat,don't drink before chalistenic workouts,you want to be as empty as possible to have as little weight as possible and yeah...Chalistenic is as worse as bodybuilding,aiming for a strict goal while forgeting the main purpose of any training in general:TO IMPROVE YOUR DAMN FITNESS and don't tell me that a guy who can do all chalistenic skills but can't run 1 mile is a fit guy,cmonn..I've been doing a mixt of many sports,including chalistenics for years and I did achieve some of the hardest skills in chalistenic still,but my progress was much slower because I have trained to be verry strong and fit in general,not just good at chalistenic,I can sprint for 6km,I can run a marathon,I can lift weights at dips at an elite level and I am elite level at chalistenic as well,I can do full planche,front lever,handstand for minutes,35+ pull ups and more,but I never forgot the goal that trianing should bring and that is to be fit,to be healthy,to live a healthy life,I believe that should be everyone's goal.

You will only do so if you meet these requirements: 1) Being short 2) Being skinny 3) Having an existing athletic base to build off of If you are someone like me who is 6 foot + and bulking, planche is going to be a much longer term goal.

6'5 100kg if i ever get the full planche, ill be 20x stronger than all of those guys in the vid XD Cuz remember guys.... the asian kid can do the planche... but you can do one push up.... youre stronger than them, one slap n that kid is flying ;) So no reason to feel weak if ure big, tall, heavy! Cuz ure literally stronger.

People think height is a big no no is calisthenics when it's really more about proportions... a taller person with better proportions could have a wayyy easier time learning the front lever vs a shor guy with not as beneficial proportions.

Just keep pushing! I'm 183 cm 82kg and been training calisthenics for over three years. Even with this I can only straddle planche for 3-4 seconds. We gotta keep grinding 💪💪

i've been training the planche for 1,5 months, the 2nd week i archieved advanced tuck and now i can do 10-12 seconds of adv tuck and 2 seconds of straddle. The problem is that i feel a enormous pain on the outer part of the forearm (i think its called the brachoardial). I never felt this on heavy sets of dumbbel presses or movements like that. Any tips to avoid it?
@TheJackedVegan

Pain like this is a sign you need to recover or need to strengthen the area , it happens a lot due to overuse. Try and reduce the intensity of the exercises you’re doing, spend more time stretching and removing any tension in the area, allow time for it to recover, and strengthen the area

Common factor among all of the athletes presented they have a young fresh flexible brain period if you are over 25 its going to take a while 2 years plus. Most of the tips on this video are gonna be useless for most of people watching it

There's a guy on youtube who's 56 and learned straddle planche in 4 months. He doesn't have a young fresh flexible brain so how did he do it?

Anyone can learn it in 3 months to say the truth your body limit the strengh when you don't have enough power for something. But if you get adrenaline probally you can do planche midway.
@MultiMyNickName

Very simple, he didnt. A "normal" person with no prior training or prep didnt learn planche in 74 days, biological impossibility and anyone claiming otherwise is quite simply lying about the time. Whats funny about all these videos is that people dont seem to get that the actual science behind what they are doing with planche, one of the 4 hardest exercises in Calisthenics and one of the hardest and longest to train for a variety of reasons, prohibits these claims. Biological limits will prevent it directly because the tendon strengthening alone in the wrist, elbow and shoulders doesnt have time to grow, the body is not capable of producing that level of natural growth least of all when it is also being required to develop a whole new set of scapular, bicep and forearm configurations which are all required for planche. The very reason planche takes so long to learn is because it can only be done step by step allowing the body to grow and strengthen with each stage. You are NOT going from zero to planche in less than a year, period, unless you have some form of pre training for these movements, gymnastics for example. Doesnt matter if you spent 20 years in the gym, you still are not doing planche in less than a year, and MOST likely its going to be 1.5 years to 2 years for most people and its imperative people starting out with planche accept this. Second of all you cannot train planche every day and balance the body properly, unless you are doing full body, ie push and pull together, and if you are you would be doing planche/lever for example and then you are definitively not doing it in anything less than 1.5 years. There is NO normal training or motion which prepares the arm tendons and wrist tendons for planche, none, nor the scapular push and hold which will require you GROWING a whole new 2kg of muscles in the region before you have the correct configuration to push and hold the movement. So, quite simply bullshit. And if im being rude, these kind of videos for EGO destroy the motivation of beginnings, utterly by setting them up with ridiculously false outlooks. People should start calisthenics with these kind of skills and expect to be doing long term disciplined training almost daily for a good number of months before getting close to the result they want, that is how it is. These videos are just bad.
