How to make Russian Honey Cake🇷🇺 ┃🇺🇦

RECIPE
▼Ingredients
Unsalted Butter 50g
Sugar 40g
Honey 60ml
Baking soda 1.5g
Eggs 75ml
Cake Flour 260g
Whipped cream 350ml
Lemon Juice 10ml
Icing sugar 50g
Honey 10ml
▼Instructions
1. Put unsalted butter, sugar and honey in a bowl, heat over low heat to melt
2. After melting, add baking soda and continue to heat and stir for 1-2 minutes, then turn off the heat.
3. After taking out the pot, break in the eggs, break up, stir well, sift in the flour, and refrigerate for 1 hour
4. Take out and divide into 6 equal parts, roll out to 1-2mm, 200°C / 392°F 3-4mins
5. Press out a round shape from a 15cm mold, and use the extra biscuits for use
6. Add light cream and lemon juice, stir well, put on ice water and wait for 15 minutes
7. Add in powdered sugar, beat at medium speed to 70%, add honey at the end
8. Layer a layer of crust, layer a layer of light cream, and sprinkle with crumbles at the end for decoration

Why I made this Russian cake? Because I saw the news the Ukrainian made a Russian cake and started a fundraiser in Hong Kong #cookforukraine. So I followed it, hope you all will understand. And I tried to google Ukrainian desserts, but not many results. Okay, Varenyks Mandriki (traditionally cooked for 12 July, orthodox holiday) Kyiv cake Makivnyk (roll with poppy seed) Palyanytaya with honey Kalatch with viburnum Actually, such concept us dessert came to Ukraine late, because of historical reason (centuries under russian empire), the only place, where Ukrainian culture could save itself was village. Of course, there was no sense to cook something very sweet, as modern desserts. But we have some sweet dishes, which is can be called so.

我以前有整過😍我是除了最底向下那面不抹，其他中間的兩邊都抹牛奶，感覺很神奇，明明是硬曲奇，過一個晚上後吸牛奶後，軟得很好吃！而且超濃蜂蜜味😍

Thanks for your support of my country 💛💙 Ukrainian cuisine is complex, influenced by many cultures. Here some of the names of our traditional desserts. Kyiv cake (hazelnut meringue cake), apple solozhenik (apple meringue crepe cake), vareniki with cherries (dumplings with sour cherries and honey), kyfliki (sort of crescent rolls), makyvnik (poppy seeds roll), sochniki (cookies with curd cheese), pinnyk with apricots (apricot shuffle). And, since I’m from western part of Ukraine, my favorite dessert is pliatsok. It’s kind of mix between cake and pie with multitude of fillings that only your imagination can set boundaries.

Let it spend more time in the refrigerator so that the cream soaks the cakes well. maybe 5 hours or more, the longer the better It should be softer than what you got in the video

No, I tried to use baking powder and didn't understand what went wrong. The layers went too dry. Use baking soda, it'll go well.

@@valoranimo It’s hard to understand it now as atrocities happen anywhere but at the end there’s always a reconciliation. Even Germany and Israel did it soon after. I am sure there are russians who support the barbarian behaviour of its army but many others are demonstrating in the streets risking being put in jail. At the end when injuries heel you will do it.

It is better to let the cake rest at least overnight, so the layers will soak a little bit. Anyway, it is still delicious on its own.

Ви знущаєтесь? Ви пишете: " ні,війні", і ставите прапорець країни агресорки, яка убиває українців,і готуєте " мєдовік", російський торт. Ви не могли поцікавитися українським і приготувати щось українське і не махати у відео триколором? І взагалі, це класичний рецепт, який є в кожній кухні,просто по різному подається. Але ж треба саме " мєдовік". В Україні на різдвяні свята теж готують солодощі з використанням меду.

It’s a popular cake in Ukraine. Just because of a name or origin doesn’t mean they can’t enjoy it. I just looked it up too and a recipe called it a “Ukraine National Cuisine.” Maybe they can leave out Russian in the title, sure but it’s like getting mad at someone for liking/having a German Shepard if you were mad at Germany lol

Якщо вам кажуть українці/ки що треба видалити прапор, та не ставити їх поруч, то треба так й зробити, а не робити погляд того, що ви нібито не знайшли рецептів-це не правда, їх ізі знайти, особисто коли цього хочеш, особисто у час війни проти України.

You share occupants culture, which is part of their propaganda machine, instead searching something about Ukraine, that is victim of this "culture"? I'll be honest, I don't know true history of this cake. But let's think. First of all, it's unlikely that cake was invented recently. Soviet dishes was created in the based on existing ones, basically traditional food of nations, that were as part of USSR (but most of them, of course, weren't recognise as someone's traditional food, only "Soviet cuisine"). Honey dishes inherent for middle east, so we can to assume, that at least prototype of this cake probably from this region. However, calling this cake russian just because they make us sure about the origin of this dessert isn't correct. But, recognise it as russian and cooking it to support Ukraine is even worse
