Elevate for Strava - an excellent add-on for Chrome (free!) which can do a lot of fantastic things, season comparison is one of them.

Hey I signed up to Intervals.icu and it looks like a great platform. Can you recommend an app that will track data for weight lifting that will adjust fatigue within intervals.icu? Also, if working a physically demanding construction job, while conditioned to it, is it worth trying to somehow add HR data from an apple watch or something to add to daily fatigue from this job, or is that not necessary? This playlist has some unreal content, so helpful, thank you.

thanks for the feedback! If you want to track weight lifting in a minimalist app try: www.simpleworkoutlog.com/www.strong.app/ or 5x5 Workout Logger Sadly none sync with ICU but put a feature request on the forum!

I dont have a power meter just a basic. keep my times on 50 mile loop, 25 and 15 mile. Plus compare myself to others in local chain gang.

Good idea, provided conditions are very similar for the comparison

Awesome review dude. I was wondering how many days off can I have before my fitness suffers permanently?
@Fastfitnesstips
@Fastfitnesstips 4 жыл бұрын
Interesting question. Providing you start training again there is no reason for fitness to suffer *permanently". The only reason fitness will permanently decline is an irreversible injury or a significant decline in training time/quality. So what I am saying is that you can almost always come back from time -off

Surely impossible to answer unless we know your current level of fitness. For example pros will lose form if they are not putting the hours / kms in. A break of a month for example will see their FTP come down. It's harder to say for an amateur, but it seems to be generally accepted that several weeks with no riding at all is enough to be detrimental to overall fitness.

Off topic question: Is there any difference in benefit between riding indoors vs riding outdoors? If I ride indoors for 90 minutes on a flat virtual course, I will do this without stopping. Let's say I ride 20 miles at 125 watts average. Then I go outside on a flat course with little or no wind and I ride 20 miles at the same watts but due to traffic and traffic lights and signs, this ride takes me 2 hours. Does the stopping and starting of the outdoor ride enhance or detract from the fitness benefit as compared to the constant pedaling of the indoor ride? Thanks

Hi Curtis, we have this for a future video looking at the physiological differences indoors vs out, but on the question of how differences in riding style translate into effort. Indoors you generally have A. less freewheeling B. less unplanned stops C lower power variation (variability index) D. different pedal dynamics......which means it is a different experience to outdoors. As a rule of thumb the more breaks/rest periods (even if at traffic lights) then the easier the ride of the same total duration. However the link is confounded by the observation than people who ride outside tend to ride further than when riding inside. Fitness is basically correlated with an increased training load which means if you fixed the duration, indoors would likely be better but if you allow a freeride then outdoors is generally a stronger training stimulus (esp if VI is high).
