This is the first video of Sadia that I disagree with. Making better decisions when traumatized is often not possible due to self-sabotage and even if you manage to do it doesn't change much. I did regular yoga, mediatation, workouts, was eating healthy, took on a physical job to get tired, got better at things at which I wanted to get better at, progressed with many things in my life, started dressing better. It did not help, maybe by 1% and the exhaustion of having to maintain that was so draining. I got objectively better looking but it didn't make me feel better. The problem is that you can try and do all these things after being traumatized, but the primarily motivation remains the one that you feel bad about yourself and unworthy. This way you become a slave to exercising and achievement in order to feel ok. Only when you start facing and re-living your emotions from the traumatic events you start to experience relief. You eat healthy because you don't feel like binge eating every candy that you have in your house. You exercise because it feels good. You do things for yourself because you genuinely care about yourself. That's why people do drugs, because in order to go past your trauma you have to face the emotions you've been repressing. Unfortunately no amount of will power is going to get you there.

There's nothing to disagree with. She mentions that's what works for her personally about 7 times. It's staggering that you bulldozed past that and wrote an autobiography.

I love, love, love this video. I didn't realize that I function through my trauma. This video is both enlightening and empowering. I've saved this video so that I can watch it regularly to aid in my journey of self awareness and self healing.

What she is describing is about 80% of all people. I have always felt we are all recovering from our childhoods and we seek to fill in the gaps with our adult relationships. Too many people look to fill those needs through material gain or on social media. What a lot of people don’t consider in selecting a mate is all the issues the other person has that will affect the health of the relationship. I am absolutely one that prefers to keep my partner at a distance but at least I acknowledge that I have emotional damage that would probably be too much for her to deal with.

If you have trauma Deep neglect and abandonment You will not make better choices because you don’t know how The low self esteem and lack of self love can be and often are very destructive It’s like say to physically pull yourself up by turning at your shoe strings Deep trauma requires assistance to lean how to love oneself It’s a process-a long process Quick fixes are lies

Good afternoon and thank you so much for all your efforts and energy you put into your videos which I find indeed very helpful 🙏 I would very much indeed love to enroll in Patreon but would like first to know whether you could also post some content on difficult relationships with adult children… Also, as much as your efforts to understanding children needs are emphasized, I couldn’t find any content on parenting difficult children (yes, they do exist!). Lastly, do you believe in genetics influence on difficult child’s behavior? Well, there’s so many questions I would like to ask but this is just some “food for thought “…. Thank you for your time and eventual response. Warm wishes 🌹

Absolutely not true that you’re going into relationship expecting the person to hurt you. Majority of people enter relationships full of optimism, enthusiasm, Hope, and expectation that that person will show up for them, be considerate, be loving, understanding, and consistent in those traits. Unfortunately, a lot of times we overlook the things that make us uncomfortable in the very beginning of a relationship. Example the person doesn’t reciprocate when we ask them to help us with something, or that individual simply says, they forgot, or they didn’t have the time, which becomes a pattern in the relationship that we notice when we are already in the dysfunctional relationship. And you find yourself enduring neglect, and being subjected to anger and resentment when you speak up for yourself. And before you realize it you are already being subjected to abuse and being re-traumatized by the very person who said they love you. It’s a betrayal and it is devastating., especially if you had an abusive and dysfunctional childhood with a neglectful and abusive parent., or absent parents. Nobody goes into a relationship expecting to be abused, neglected and abandoned.
