A hack that allows you to use a jack from your car boot as a spring compressor to fully dismantle your air rifle. Caution advised! Risk of injury.

Brilliant! Now I haven't got to waste time and money in building some sort of jig from scratch like all the other YT vids show. Excellent, thank you so much for this solution. 🙂

Yr idea of using a car jack as a effective spring compressor worked well. I was trying it out for the first time and it worked wonderfully. It goes without saying that all the necessary safety measures should be taken while removing or replacing yr Airgun spring.

Very good, Sir. Of all the videos I've watched and seen on this topic, I like yours the most. BTW, your vocab is commendable. Cheers.

Nice this is the simplest and most effective way I have seen to date thank you 🙏🇦🇺only thing you were missing that most people do do is add block o wood ether side or clamp just for a bit of safety so spring can’t move sideways on you.

I'd recommend clamping down the rifle to stop it flying up from the tension but other than that, this is a OK way to remove a spring if you don't have the right tools. funny thing is that his spring had so little tension that he could have removed it by simply holding the end cap down on the bench by hand ha Ha. the crossman phantom 500 and 615 fps versions are such rifles, they have short and weak enough springs in them to remove without special tools.

You can use a bolt socket that holds the end piece.

Any advice... every time I fix it the next time I get a locked trigger...with a compressed spring, probably I do have a worn out trigger. What can be done in my case? Also it's an old 25 > 30 yr vintage piece.. And Also the safety mechanism of the trigger doesn't work anymore. Had given it to a local guy who fckd it up... I wish I was in Germany... for immediate fixing and parts..☹

Great Tutorial,...I've seen many video's on Spring Compression, this is by far the simplest. Question; "Can the spring be removed with the barrel intact ?"

Good idea. But that looks like a very weak rifle with not much pretension on the spring. With a more powerful rifle you should probably secure the cylinder and scissor jack...
@stevefox37636 жыл бұрын
yep, that spring could have been removed without a compressor :-))

Be aware of tapping that hard on your file, if you don't have something to use as a punch. That's taking too high a chance of being in need of both a punch and a file. Files are for filing, so they're quite brittle. If you can't secure a punch, tho soft, a nail may work. Or a saved old door hinge pin.

Very unsafe u feel ur setting an example, need to secure the reciver with U pins to the wood below, else it will do a London bridge in ur face.
@shuddhapoly9 жыл бұрын
coolnikish Absolutely right. Even with U-pins it remains risky if the spring has to move a long way before the end piece gets firmly inside the back of the receiver. Anyone who tries this needs to do it with caution. It is assumed that a person with an air rifle has a degree of maturity to handle a weapon that can cause grievous injury even without trying to open it up.
