DJI Pocket 2: Complete Menu in 18 Minutes, I tried to cram as much information into this video as possible, without boring the socks off you. So hopefully if you are a beginner, you will learn some of the main features about this camera and its uses.

Great timing and quite useful... Just ordered my Pocket 2 but not the do it all handle (not enough cash) but I do have my Rode Go and 3.5 adapter from my old Osmo Pocket. More features on the 2 than I will probably ever learn...LOL

Fantastic video! The Osmo is definitely my favorite camera to use if they came out with the the things you just suggested I'd definitely buy it at the $899 price tag. Another thing I'd like to see is the ability to use the wifi module with an external battery plugged in as far as I know you can only use one or the other but I guess this wouldn't be an issue if you could swap out the batteries. Thanks for sharing. Have a great one.

Great vid, as ever. My Pocket 2 arrived today, much excitement until it decided not to recognise my brand new so card 🙈. Surely there can be no greater pleasure known to man than sitting on the DJI Chat Support Line (their ultimate advice, send it back to the retailer - fixed it myself in the end). Now if only I could work out how to connect it to my phone via Bluetooth 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ - any advice would be very welcome. Really, any advice at all! Thank you for the in-depth tutorial, I’ll be coming back to this one again and again.

Hello Graeme, turn on WIFI and Bluetooth on your phone, power up the DJI mimo app, wait for it to find your phone, it should popup on the top of the screen .. if not, click the camera icon or something.. let me know

@@HowToGuyChannel hey, thank you for coming back to me. You’re too busy to be dealing with individual questions like thIs, but I appreciate it. WiFi and Bluetooth are both on on the phone, and when I launch Mimo it connects by WiFi straightaway, but there seems to be no reference to Bluetooth. The whole reason I bought it was to use it on trips and control it remotely via my iPhone, not WiFi at home 🙈 Hey, thanks again for offering to help out - how are those bts vids coming along...? 😂😂

Hey Graeme, so it doesnt really use Bluetooth to connect or send the signal, its mearly to strengthen the signal I believe, once its connected Via WIFI, your Phone might try ask you (connect to a better network) .. Click NO, otherwise it will disconnect, I dont know the exact details of how it works, but the WIFI and remote control is not that good, it is Buggy and disconnects.. BTS videos are Slow ;) ha, You are controlling the thing with your Phone, but you are using the 2.4 Ghz WIFI on your Phone to send the signal and Vica versa from the Pocket 2 to your Phone, its using that Waveform to send the video...

Power up is available on the function button too - and seems to be faster. Beautify - you don't need it, mate. 'High quality' uses more noise reduction, apparently, and that in itself can soften the image, but there's currently a big question mark over that mode - some find that it actually degrades the image overall. Watch for firmware updates to tweak it. The mic pairing function should only need to be used once - it's a shame it occupies a whole menu 'slot' on its own. Panoramas stiched in the app are low res for sharing - if you use PC software to do it, you get the full res version. It's worth mentioning that pressing the bottom left of the screen takes you straight to the video settings (or photo if that is the current mode). Very good summary of everything, the best I've seen, and I'm glad you spent time on the audio options which reallly are worth setting for best results for your current shot.

Hello Mr Peter, thanks for your thoughts, and comment, the HQ has an algorithm that it throws on top of the image, I was having weird results, sometimes my Pocket would record two videos and the bit rate looked different, the old Pocket used to do that.. Not really sure, I need to do more tests. You are right about the Mic pairing. thanks for watching

I just did, thanks. However, my problem remains: I shoot in AUTO mode (4k 60fps), and I'm not interested in changing the motion (to get the 'cinematic blur'), I just want to get not-too-bright footage in a very sunny day. I guess using a filter while filming in AUTO doesn't make sense, then? if so, my only option would be getting in PRO mode and lower the EV? (and letting all the rest in AUTO). @@HowToGuyChannel yep its not a world of difference and battery life 56 min ... 😱... If it records in 4 k it never can hold up to 56 min .. so you have to buy extra batt.. extra costs etc.... But lets wait for the first youtubers to launch their YTvideos.. i personly dont like this multi functional concept of 2 or 3 parts cam.

This is the best channel for the pocket 2. I noticed you were capturing the Android display I can do this on my S10 into capture card. But I wish there was a way to get rid of the info on the screen the overlay. Can't see any other options other than paying for the cosmostreamer which is very expensive thx

Digital Analogue, looking at your channel, seems like you would know better than me about the OBS streaming, the Pocket 2 streaming I have not tested either, not sure if there is a Solution other than ComsoStreamer, which I have not also tested myself.. Sorry , I usually know how to help most people, this topic is a bit out my experience with the thing.. Also I usually live stream from my Sony using Elgato.. so not really sure

For the focus modes, how do you control the single point focus?

You click on the Screen using the DJI mimo app, not sure if it will work with the small screen, because it is so small, but Yes.. in theory you could tap on the screen and it will focus on the Camera Itself (I think) ... but using your app, it will work

A very useful and informative video. My pocket 2 always boots-up in the selfie mode necessitating pressing the right button 3 times to rotate the gimbal 180 deg. Do you know how I can change this? It is very frustrating. I cannot find out how to resolve this issue.

Thanks for sharing David, on the Latest Firmware update which was released a few months ago (I assume you have it).. you can boot in two ways, the one boots up with Selfie mode, and the other one boots with the camera pointing away from you .. Its the Mode button, or the side power button.. so depending on which one you hold it will boot up in the different directions, cant remember which button does which

I have another issue... the video quality is not as 'crisp' as I expected. It appears, to my eyes, to be very slightly out of focus.....any ideas? I have only had the camera a little over a week so it's still a learning curve. Your instructional video has been extremely useful. I need to learn videography and editing techniques now.

@@HowToGuyChannel Yes I have that setting 'on' . I have experimented keeping the camera static on a table an putting an object in front of the camera and then removing it. The camera does focus on the object, blurring the background then when I remove the object it focusses on the background, so the autofocus does seem to function. However the picture quality is just not as sharp as I expect it to be. It's as though there is grease or a fingermark on the lens....there isn't of course. Do you have overheating issue? I just bought a pocket 2 and it just heats up while recording... even on standby. It gets really hot and auto shutoff after approx 25 mins continuous recording. Returning it.

I have another video were I talked about the Overheating, but DJI Replaced my unit (which I bought originally) .. I did have some ghosting issues, and it got warm, not tooo warm, but it did weird things on my screen, see my other video.. That doesnt sound right, the Device shouldnt do that !

5:32 Isn't that function just changed the name? It was normal and high quality in the original Osmo Pocket. It just adds some sharpening and noise-reduction as I know.

Yes, changed the name, I think it also applies an algorithm to the image for noise, and sharpening as you say.. dont think it makes such a difference

Hey Adrian, you can indeed do that, you could go into FPV mode and it will be kinda rollercoaster like, you could also tilt it upwards (-100° to +50°) but 90 would be up, so Im not sure how far it goes up, I would need to test that, you can also record "instagram" portrait if thats what you mean

Here's the thing. I received my Poccket 2 today and its impressive. However, I use a Samsung Galaxy S7 and the USB interface isn't compatible with the adapter(s) that come with the Pocket 2. I ised my Samsung Tab to connect and register but it fouls the gimbal on the Pocket 2. A new phone ? Thjis is getting expensive.... Thanks for the videos, and have a good Christmas.

Hey Roderick, I have a USB micro on my android phone, if I use one of those Adapters, I can convert the USB C from th e pocket 2 thing you plug into the Joystick area to the Adapter bought which takes USB-C - Micro USB.. and it works.. and it connects.. have you tried that ?

So if you're shooting at 24fps, is the shutter speed automatically at 1/50 (and if you switch to 60fps, is the shutter speed at 1/120), or do you have to switch that manually? And if that answer is yes, is the footage gonna look like shit if you don't do that?

Hey Matt... Funny you ask this, I have a Video coming out in about 10 hours about ND filters, they will answer your question, IF you do 60fps it will not automatically switch to 1/120 ... it depends on the light, it will try and auto set your Shutter speed depending on the Light, SO NO... unless you use ND filters, actually it will look ok... it is not following the 180 degree rule, but it wont look horrible

As previously reported , although Osmo pocket 2 has improved in some areas, sadly it has taken away some good features from old Osmo pocket1 and even worse, it didn't address real issues much to the annoyance of most vidio/photo shooters alike. Nagging issues like transferring files, sensor size ,dynamic range etc... So it worth waiting for Osmo3, hopefully Osmo finally addresses these nagging issues in particular adding 120p slowmo in 4k instead of dated 1080p, bigger sensor would really helps as taking photos with this gadget is useless, Osmo falsely claims the sensor is 64MP , as the matter of fact it is only 12 MP! !!! Why?

@@HowToGuyChannel It's just like when you use a cellphone to take a selfie photo, you look at the camera and the image on the phone screen looks like you are looking at a mirror but the saved photo will reverse it and show like a real world photo (image reversed back), but the pocket 2 will save the selfie photos in reversed mirror image, if you use the pocket 2 to take a selfie photo then you will see what I'm saying
