HPI Baja First Start In Years - Zenoah Engine Stripped Threads - Can I Fix it? Walbro Carb Install

3 жыл бұрынI got this Original HPI Baja 5B for only $100, and it came with a ton of issues, but the best thing was the ZENOAH G270 engine. Only problem was stripped exhaust threads and a bad carb. Lets fix the problems, put on a new Walbro Carb and see if it runs! No Zenoah Gas engine will ever die on this channel.

Most people would use a thread tap but Hybrid32494 doesn't need a sissy thread tap , he just makes his own threads using muscles. Nitro Gang Power!

hey bro! thanks for watching! Ye man, this original zenoah motor was worth saving, and really just needed minimal work if you think about it. ITs plenty power for the baja as it is. I'll throw this G290 into something else.

Nice job man. I’m waiting for my Revo 3.3 to ship in early April. I haven’t owned an RC in like 10 years so I’m really looking forward to getting back into it. I was looking at an E-Revo but had to go nitro!!

Nice job on the repair. I'm a retired mechanic and have done this exhaust repair on cars and boy I wish is was as easy as an rc. Ha. I did a forward only conversion on my Revo 3.3 last night. Can't believe the amount of parts removed from in the gear box. Taking for a test drive this afternoon. Always thanks for the tips.

hey bro! Good luck on your forward only conversion run, you really won't notice any difference unless you already had some slippage problems. Another good idea is to do a single steering servo mod and just run the 20KG cheap new servos. This will make your RX pack last longer an the chassis lighter. Let me know how it goes bro.

hey bro! Thanks! The BAJA is back to kick some AS*!!! All it took was basically a new carb, you can't kill a GAS RC, especially a Baja with a Zenoah!. lol. Exhaust port bolt holding very well. Ive had to do that a few times in other areas on Bajas btw, it never fails.

hey buddy! Good question! Honestly I like all nitros almost equally, it just comes down to the application for the day. I would say the Jato is most likely my GO TO for when I want speed runs and the T-maxx/Revo is my choice for when I'm on a smaller lot where over 40 MPH is not necessary, you know.

Yo Ralphie Make sure you drill and wire those exhaust cap Screws. That’s why they strip out when they get loose the vibration from the engine strips them out son. Rock on Ralphie!! And no you can’t just use Loctite on exhaust screws it will just burn off

You already know the crazy asking prices some people want for these, mine was in pretty terrible shape, and without tons of Gas RC repair experience this would not have turned out well for me. So I got lucky, but I also put tons of effort into it. It's taken me around 2 years to find a genuine HPI Baja.

Hey man! Nice vid, haven’t watched your vids in a while but I’m back! I had a question for you on cars, is the non bearing modded 1107 good to? I noticed my throttle shaft is worn down and I don’t feel like spending 70 bucks on a carb, could you maybe do a video on throttle linkage setups?

hey bro! Major Congrats on the Zenoah engine, I;ve been running this old G270 in this baja, and it's legit KICK ASS! Good think I decided to fix it, cause you can't kill a Zenoah!. Anyway, yes, I also though they were extremely light when I first took it out of the box, since most of it is just aluminum, it's fairly light, you know. Which motor did you get?

Max Headroom needs more attention! I'm bringing back the 80's and 90's here bro! Almost nobody knew what that was, only a couple people pointed it out. The beeping was the BUZZER on the new kill-switch. I was too excited about the first start up and didn't even notice the thing was beeping. When the buzzer is on that means Spark is cut, also indicated by the LED.

hey bro! I've literally never had to purchase parts for almost any of my nitros, other than clutches and basic parts like batteries. I've never broken anything other than a turnbuckle end link on my Savage XL. I almost never jump my RCs, which is the best way to break them, you know.

Different oils smoke and some don’t, I would reccomend running 28:1 with a good oil

hey bro! Turns out this Baja was hiding another surprise, which would explain why my bottom end is a little inadequate. I just looked at the spur and pinion and counted the teeth, it's got a HIGH SPEED gear set. Instead of the stock 57T spur, this thing is running a metal 53 tooth one. This is basically the top of the gearing chart right there, that would explain it. But it's hella fast, the upside.
