Only those who have been there can truly understand what you are saying....the pressure, the fatigue, the fear of get reported, the minimum rest thing, the tears...the addiction to shopping for shopping.....All this is not intended to discourage people from applying but to let them be aware of the reality and to be prepared for that. People usually don't talk about this side of the job so thanks you did. hope you all the best in life❤

Michelle, thankyou so much for sharing your story and experience, I know it takes courage and energy to stand in front of a camera and tell all these ocurrences. I am glad you are doing better now and you can be with your husband much more time now. I admire the way you communicate a lot. I am an aspiring cabin crew on my way on getting that license, and your videos have been more than resourceful, for the mere fact that you take on topics outside the mere facade people always tend to talk about such as destinations, salaries, perks, but not many people talk about the emotional and physical part this job requires and more than that, the actual extra load certain companies put on their employees, I find it quite amusing and sad at the same time since social media keeps throwing reels and photos of people working for emirates as the perfect picture, with thousands of destinations and stuff, without realizing whats behind the scene. Aside from the aviation/cabin crew context, this video has also helped me a lot personally, since I've recently been in the exact same position were I somedays no longer feel like dealing with the world and the people, and this has encourages me to cut on activities, people and habits that actually make me feel small, bad and not okay, thank you so much once again Ms. Michelle! My apologies for my writing in this comment, its cause as I progressively watched the video, I wanted to express more and more things hahaha. But anyways. Hope you are doing amazing, kind and warm greetings from Costa Rica Ms. Michelle! 😊🇨🇷 P.D: Thank you so much for the resources you attached in the description box as well, I'll sure check them out.

Omg your vid just tear me up !! for a bit of context I’m a 22 yo & I joined EK when i was 21. From the very first day of joining, i had that feeling that I wasn’t where I was supposed to be. The six AM shift at the training college, all prepped up, all those sleepless nights crying & missing my beloved, the stress before any assignments & exams, the fear of getting reported for everything and anything… You name it ! Few months after starting, my dad got cancer & it was my breaking point. I decided to resign as soon as i got the news & even tho it was incredibly hard for the very first days, I truly believe that some blessings do come in disguise. After listening to your story, I’m pretty sure that God protected me from the worst. Sometimes He’s taking something away from us to give us something a hundred time better. Some people tend to believe that the cabin crew job (especially at EK) is all about Dubai bling, glamorous & luxury & it’s so nice to see such a down to earth, genuine, inspiring & lovely person talking frankly about it !! (& it would have been a pleasure to operate a flight with u aha !! ) keep glowing ❤ (i’m so sorry for any mistake in my comment, as english isn’t my mother tongue ofc) (PD : i still do some nightmares about SEP assignments omd😭)

My heart goes out to you..I’m sending you hugs and prayers.May the Lord heal your Dad..May He fully restore him.Thank you for your heartfelt comment.I appreciate you more than you know. The Lord truly has better for you.I know exactly what you mean when you take about sleepless nights and stress because of the training. You are much better off away from that place, you made right decision to choose going back home to be with your family. I pray for better days filled with joy, happiness and peace.

It's my first time commenting on your channel, and I wanted to say thank you for being so well-spoken about your traumatic experience. I want to be a cabin crew for Etihad or Emirates and knowing your experience is genuinely powerful as I will remember to know the limits of my body and also my mental health. I hope that you are feeling much better now after 3 years, and I hope that your journey doesn't end there! Have you found a new job that makes you happy, or have little milestones to regain your beautiful confidence?

What you call burnout I would call a complete nervous breakdown. And at the end of this podcast, after you read from Timothy, it occurred to me that if you know in your heart and soul that you're on the right path, it doesn't always have to make sense. Knowing absolutely that you're on the right path is enough...
