There was no way the driver could have gotten in the proper lane in time, just based on length alone. Plus, the load was articulated. So trying to get back in such of short amount of time would have just blocked the entire roadway.

Not only that, the hitch has to be low enough and of course don't overload. And IF your trailer starts moving like that, a sensible driver would stop and fix their loading issue. Not this guy, put on hazards and go!

In my opinion, it was loaded completely WRONG. . .Plus you have to put a red flag of sorts to let people know you have something hanging off. Not to mention that fishtailing says you are driving way too fast and have no control of the trailer. I hate getting behind those people. 🙄( live by a Lowe's & Home Depot)

The centre of gravity need to be ON the trailer's axle. Also, the heavier part need to be as centred as possible. To the front and you loose traction of the front wheels. To the back and you loose traction of the rear wheels. BOTH are pretty bad.

@@Kualinar No, you want the center of gravity a bit forward of the wheels. It is the most stable. I don't know what you mean by losing traction. Things on wheels are most stable when the weight is in front. If your trailer has the center of gravity behind, it will try to flip around. Nothing to do with friction, it's just physics. Your truck hitch connection will fight this, trying to keep it straight. The trailer will try to flip your truck around with it, and your truck will yank it back. This back-and-forth fighting between the truck and trailer will compound in a feedback loop until your trailer and/or truck flip.

it was loaded poorly and its totally his fault. I still commended him for recovering when he was fishtailing that bad. its not easy to do. at least, in my experience being the one time our atv+redneck homemade trailer was fishtailing and i ended up spinning completely around.

i was the one who actually recorded that, the white van pulled into the parking lot i was sitting at waiting for my wife to get off work, there was 2 people inside it, the people swapped seats and then took off, whe they pulled in they nearly high centered on the curb to their right in the video. as they got out of the van thats when i started recording the passenger almost falling over then he procceded to get into the drivers seat of the van, they left the spot they werer parked sat at the entrance of the parking lot for about 30seconds then just took off into traffic. it was a very weird thing. i was gonna call the non emergency line but i knew they wouldnt of shown up in time, even the sherrif i talked to and gave this video to told me i was right not to call it in and just record because theres more proof something bad happened then just a call in that would of never gotten followed up, both people in the white van got arrested for DUI thanks to my eye witness testimony

If you mean 5:57, the accident was caused by the modified lane markings going into the construction zone. There is zero warning to either driver that 2 lanes become one, nor for which lane is to yield. The construction contractor is 100% at fault.
