Yes totally agree, I had the same experience. I really liked rocket scooter but I stopped using them because 1) I wanted to get deeper insight into the dealer data myself which Volland provides rather than depending on HP/MHP/HG levels & 2) I had some bugs/issues that drove me a little crazy, however I’ve heard from several people that those issues have been resolved. I think Tradytics and Volland compliment each other perfectly. You get the best dealer data insights in the business with Volland on the top 200 optionable assets & really unique, but potent, data driven insights from Tradytics that simplify historical correlations. Vollland gives the hedge fund view and Tradytics gives the data analyst view.

I wouldn’t have either but if there’s one thing I’ve realized since using Volland is that Vanna drives SPX more than any other factor I’ve ever seen. Today the 4000 magnet did its thing again, regardless of the rate raising news and JPow’s speech. Which has been consistent every day now since that magnet has existed!

@@FattyTrades is it because 12/16 is the Quadruple witching day? too many options are placed around it? how about Fridays that are not witching day? is the magnet still that powerful? thanks

The magnet is diminishing but will certainly have an effect. The quad witching day actually lines up with the vanna magnet at 4000 expiring off as well. Here’s the data as of today, notice how we have new magnets forming under us. That’s a great question & def worthy of its own video when looking at delta, gamma & vanna. I always start with all expirations then will typically look at all positions leading up to end of week or monthly OPEX to get an idea of when the significant positions will expire off or get restructured.

Well it will be different even with real data. Unfortunately Tradytics doesn’t display vanna properly which is why I use Volland for dealer data & why Trady & Volland partnered up. Tradytics only shows contracts at the bid/ask in its GEX/VEX levels so it misses significant positions. This is common actually, services like spot gamma & GammaEdge make assumptions about dealers being long calls & short puts which is also inaccurate. Volland is the only one that makes no assumptions & includes every contract that hits the tape. They have a complex method to figure out if dealers are long or short and compares against many data points to ensure accuracy. They are the only service I know of that does it to this extent which is why I signed up. I still love Trady and they have many great services. I use them for what they’re good at - uniquely potent data driven insights of flow data, dark pools and raw deltas across the market. Dynamic hedging requirements however is best shown by Volland. Volland shows us what hedge funds are looking at using the classical hedge fund methods. Combining the two gives some incredible insights and can be done for the top 200 optionable assets across the market. It’s as close to a crystal ball as it gets, especially when combined with the charts.

I’m not posting individual trade ideas, just the upper/lower boundaries of SPX/SPY each day along with magnets 🧲 i made one exception for CPI yesterday when it become very apparent we would magnet to 4000 from roughly 4055 & posted the result but I encourage people to use the data to take the trades they are comfortable with based off their own strat. Knowing where SPX will bottom or top out with the key vanna targets leads to entering with more confidence and holding onto trades longer. After I posted the result of my own I immediately regretted it because it put everyone’s focus on the wrong stuff, potentially taking more size that they are comfortable with or not following their own rules.
