The InsideRide E-motion roller is not your standard roller. It's built and known for its motion technology and bumper wheels to prevent you from falling off. If you've never been on rollers, you will find the InsideRide E-motion a little easier to ride than traditional rollers and more comfortable than stationary bike trainers.
The Floating Fork Stand is designed for the E-Motion roller and converts it to a "Flex" trainer. It allows the bike to tilt and rock side-to-side while giving you the security of a stationary trainer.

love it. Not always i want to ride regular roller, so the floating fork is a great solution for those days when you want to just spin your legs

Already, I am happy with this content. Thank you. I just bought e-motion rollers last night. I have NEVER had the courage to try rollers before. I will let you know how "successful" my first attempt goes. (Oy! Nervously typed but definitely subscribed!)

This is great tech. The development of lateral movement has been lagging amongst trainer companies. I use a 20cm diameter rotary tv turntable under the front wheel with my Neo. This achieves the same goal beautifully.

I have been using IR free motion for long and then this fork stand ; really love them in overall. One sad thing for Australian is that IR doesn't export out of Canada / USA due to some contracts. I only could get second hand one which is older model (F, latest is H) from someone who brought it himself from US so can't attach any of smart unit but only fixed resistance. So I replaced rear-end drum to Sportscrafters Progressive drum myself which gives more resistance when speed goes up (I wish you can review Sportscrafters Progressive roller later as well ; it is another piece of work in roller). Overall, highly recommending this free motion roller and fork stand (as well as their post sales support)! Thanks for good review as usual!

I have the F IR model, will the FFS and/or SmartPower fit that? Have sent email to IR over a month ago and no response. Docs lead me to think that F IR model is not upgradeable with these additions. Thanks.

Looks neat, I use my rollers all the time but there are days that I wish I could forget about the risk of falling and wheel slip and just hammer. Moreover, it would make out of the saddle work a lot safer. Thanks for the review.

Have been using mine for over 4 years now and they still perform like the first day I used them. A few years back I upgraded them with the Qubo unit and have been riding on Zwift ever since. They really are an amazing piece of equipment. This year I purchased wheel weights from Stac Zero and find having them on really helps keep the back wheel planted during hard sprints. I haven't noticed any slippage at the back wheel. I'm actually really looking forward to hearing how you find the new resistance controller compares to the Qubo one. e.g. features, response time, road feel... Regarding the floating fork stand, I've been eyeing it up, but have just been enjoying the rollers as they are too much to justify purchasing it.

I have been using the Emotion for 2 years now with the Qubo smart resistance unit. Watts from the smart unit is garbage so you do need a powermeter. I've been racing and doing hard intervals without needing a fork support. Still able to use social media or other stuff while on them. One thing is that I'm not able to do more then 2 hours on them compare to my kickr that I've done lot of 4 hours + ride but now that I've got a kid...2 hours per training is the max I can get anyway.

the only issue with the FFS is that the front turns in the opposite way that it would outside (or on inside ride without FFS) when you tilt from side to side. When you lean left the bars turn to the right with FFS, whereas if you lean left outside the bars should also steer to the left. This takes some getting used to especially for sprints.

Wow excellent! I was considering the Elite Nero, however, the idea of falling off the rollers during a hard intense workout feels like a dealbreaker. This does seem like a possible alternative. Quick question, how do smart rollers work with ERG? As with structured training, they're micro-intervals, 5s, 15s, 30s, hard efforts and etc, and apps like Sufferfest, require you to stand, slow cadence, standing starts. So how does smart roller respond to all of this structured training?

Omar, I usually turn ERG mode off and do workouts in slop mode instead when doing short hard intervals. Most trainers including the emotion, will take few seconds to respond and increase resistance. Usually high end direct drive trainers are faster and better at making these changes but not so much with rollers. So you might already be toward the end of the interval by the time you have full resistance. Generally, it’s better to turn ERG mode off with these short intervals. I'll look into that video and I'm fine with not using ERG on short fast efforts and with this Fork Stand, the risk of falling off due to exhaustion from these efforts are nullified. So I guess for rollers, what kind of effort duration is required for ERG? 1 min intervals is sufficient?

I would say anything over 30seconds is sufficient

Will you be trying this with Zwift's new steering feature? I know you can adjust the sensitivity in Zwift, but I would think it wouldn't provide enough degrees of left to right movement to give you enough in game turning control. I use eMotion rolers. I thought about adding a phone mount to the back of my helmet so I could turn by tilting my head left and right. If the forkstand works well with steering in Zwift I may do that. I expect Zwift will eventually add steering to road races, I'll want to use it if/when they do.

Lol, I did the same thing this morning. I played with the sensitivity multiple times, but it didn’t help.

I tried it this morning and it didn’t work unfortunately. Like you mentioned, it didn’t provide enough tilting to control the steering. It was actually the opposite. As you steer the floating fork right or left, the titling is opposite of the turning. So as you turn right, the phone slightly tilt few degrees to the left. I sent my feedback to Zwift and will see what they do.
