Yeah that post about plagiarism at about 7:00 is very accurate. I had this one class that made you upload your essays to a plagiarism checker and the professor wouldn't even look at your paper if it was scored less than 85% (meaning the checker considered 85% of the paper to be original). I worked my ass off to write the best paper I could without padding it with quotes (I had maybe 3 quotes about eight words each in the 10 page paper) and the damn checker gave me a 70%. You could look at your paper to see what the checker was counting things as plagiarized and the stuff it was flagging was like *my name*, the date, the school, the page numbers, my *entire works cited page*, every citation I had in my paper, the sparse amount of quotes, and even random word combinations (I remember one of them being "in which the researchers found"). I told my professor and he just said that he was not making exceptions to the 85% rule and told me to rework it until it passed the plagiarism checker. I had to resubmit that paper 2 more times before it squeaked by at exactly 85% only to get a B- because I "needed more citation support" which is what I trimmed to meet the 85% requirement. How I managed to hold back my scream I have no idea. My original paper met the requirements for an A on it otherwise. The reason I cared so much about this was because I was there on an academic scholarship that had a grade requirement that I was slowly dropping towards. Literally the only professor I had issues with during my undergrad. I hate how plagiarism checkers are used...

I always find that one about the murderer character funny because I have an OC for a book series I’m writing that I LOVE… and she’s a murderer. I am literally her keeper and she’s got a body count of over 500… BEFORE THE STORY EVEN STARTS. She’s actually a really complex character who doesn’t LIKE killing. She was sold into human trafficking as a baby by her addict parents and watched a crackhead politician SA and murder her best and a bunch of other kid friend when she was like 11. She got the book of employees and clients the guy running the ring kept, got help reading the names and finding where they all lived (she was never taught how to read or write), and then went on a murder spree from the ages of 13 and 16. She killed these people with her bare hands in a state of animalistic fight to survive instinct- having had a mother how used “sugars” while pregnant with her and then being used for “drug experiments” for kicks and giggles by clients when she was younger made this possible. Police were using DNA evidence to look for suspects, but… she’s a tall, skinny, trans girl, so the profile they had was all wrong. They were looking for a super muscular adult man if average height. The way she grew up has a lasting effect on her, like how she goes “feral” around any man or doesn’t even know her birth name- she names herself Reina Savage because she liked the name the news gave her, the Barbarian King (when they thought she was a man), so she asked someone at the shelter she was living at to help her come up with a name modeled off of that. Technically, she was never caught. She turned herself in after the last killing because she knew what she did was wrong. She had called ahead to warn them not to let men near her. But one arrogant detective decided to mess with her… she beat him up so bad, he had to retire early and it took 3 people to drag her off of him. She WAS sentenced to life in prison (the judge was friends with several victims and would have given her the death penalty if the DA didn’t point out how she was a traumatized child who turned herself in willingly, and the public being angry that she was even being treated like a criminal given why she killed the people she did). The story is about her helping to catch killers that are extremely dangerous, especially one specific guy. She and her handler (a small, but muscular half-Korean woman) get married and have twin daughters. She also dies near the end, but is revived and the new judge that reviews her case is like “technically you completed the terms of your sentence, however, since I can’t in good conscience, just let you go, given you’ve admitted you would kill again if pushed to do so… I’ll just put you on life time parole and weekly therapy. Don’t let me see you in my courtroom ever again.”

Hollywood movies, suck. They're all just built from Disney Princess narrative structure, have no history or depth, beyond the immediate inane and insular moment in time being conveyed.
