Hawk had been having doubts the whole season. When he broke Dimitri's arm, you could see on his face that he felt horrible about it. The final nail was his former bully treating him like a friend while the people who were there for him back then were getting pummeled.

I see people defending that scene where Hawk switches sides, but its fundamentally a bad scene. His switch is the beginning of the climax of the house fight, meaning he has to have a journey through the fight, one that should capture his essence and challenge him to make him switch sides. But no, he high fives Kyler before going "Oh Shit!" and switches sides. This is plain bad. It doesnt matter if they showed us 2 other scenes leading up to this of Hawk frowning, his switch is so rushed and unearned during that fight, which is why you find so many people who feel it came out of nowhere. Im not saying it came out of nowhere, it was built up to, but executed poorly.

@@ibrothebro6864 the reason why he high fives Kyle and started realising what was happening was because Kyler made his life hell, and now he was treating him like a friend, (also u can tell kyler only acted friendly out of fear after seeing what happened with brooks, cos in season for he goes right back to calling him “lip”) so hawk looks around and realises it’s his CLOSEST friends getting hurt, also I think it was nice how in his head he was hearing BOTH kreese aaand Johnny, kinda showing that he was kinda flip-flopping mentally, so when he runs towards demetri and the two nameless cobras, u don’t know whether he’s gonna hit or defend demetri, well it’s kinda obvious he’s gonna help demetri but i that’s the only thing I didn’t like, cos I would’ve loved a scene where there’s a lot more tension in a “change of heart” scene for hawk, but I still think that people who say it came out of nowhere weren’t looking into it deep enough (or maybe I just looked too deep😅)

About the Christmas parties, those usually happen in the weeks of December leading up to Christmas Day, while generally the week of Christmas Day is when you stay home with family, open presents, etc. Love your reactions. As a former karateka (looking to get back into it), as an enjoyer of Japanese culture, your perspective on these is really cool to watch. And also great to know you're a fan of old school Star Wars (though I hear in general it's always been very popular in Japan).

A lot of people spend Christmas eve or day travelling and gathering at a parent's house. It can feel like another Thanksgiving Day in the US. Many companies and clubs will have a social event in the weeks before. When I was in h.s. someone always had a party on the Eve. Since schools are on break, it was a welcome relief from all the "family time." 😀

29:22 Johnny may be one of my fav characters but he is clearly not perfect. Anyone that can look past Johnny being the mc and avoid being bias can recognize he wasn't a good father and it makes sense why Robby didn't wanna leave with him. Johnny has been absent from his life for the past 16 years. I find it dumb when people try to say Johnny has changed and get mad at Robby for not forgiving him. Like yes, it's very clear Johnny has changed but if you were to put yourself in Robby's shoes you would also have trouble forgiving someone that is supposed to be your dad for abandoning you. It's not even like Robby never bothered to give Johnny chances. He did, plenty of times, but even when Johnny and Robby were close to bonding there was always something to ruin it, such as misunderstandings, etc. Plus imagine how painful it must've been seeing his own dad who has hardly been in his life bond with some other random kid. Then there was Daniel, who ditched him once finding out he was Johnny's son (which is something Robby can't control) over some old ass beef from over 3 decades ago (when Robby didn't even exist) like a petty ass teenager though he's a grown-ass man LMFAO, and later on betraying Robby's trust once again by calling the cops on him. Samantha cheated on him. Everyone who he trusted and gave his love to betrayed him in some type of way. Don't get me started on Miguel. Miguel seems like the enemy in his eyes. He stole his girl, dad, all the little things that might've helped him change. Kreese has been the only actual person that hasn't betrayed him so it makes sense that he left with Kreese. Sorry, this is long LOL I'm just very passionate, plus I love Robby, he's so misunderstood Idk why he gets so much hate. I'd say the way his character is portrayed is a very realistic depiction of a damaged person with a lot of mental wounds compared to the "ohhh I forgive you." bullshit people want and expect.

I can see how Robby would stay angry after being thrown in the correctional facility. It may have been the only legal course they had, but in Robby's mind he may think he was beter off in hiding. So far the only person who hasn't had a chance to betray Robbie (intentional or unintentional) is Kreese.

That's all true. THere's been like 3 times in the series where Robby was counting on Johnny and Johnny ended up siding with Miguel or wasn't there or something, so even if Johnny is changing, from RObby's perspective it's all still the same old same old. One thing that feels forced to me though is him siding with Kreese. It seemed like Kreese visited him once in juvie and that was just enough to get Robby completely on his side? Just seems like Robby is the type to just leave instead.
@chxrriesandbutter5569

@@oneoneonefour Actually, Robby isn't exactly on Kreese's side. If you've watched season 4, its pretty clear all that the crap he's put up with his whole life has made him lose trust in others, he even says it himself when talking to Johnny after Johnny tries to warn him about Kreese. He's a smart kid, probably just with Kreese cuz it benefits him and cus he's angry at Daniel/Johnny and everyone else for what they did to him.

It also helps to consider that even though *WE* see johnny changing during the course of the story, Robby hasn't seen the progress being made - only the person who failed him in the past claiming to be better now. You have to consider the information the characters have - Robby forgiving his absentee father wouldn't make sense with the information he has about him.

As silly as it is for Robbie to stay with Kreese, it is totally understandable. He's spent his entire life hating Johnny for abandoning him. That isn't easy to get over. And when he thought Daniel betrayed him by turning him into the police, that put Daniel in the same category in his mind as Johnny.

Kreese was also the only person to visit him in juvie. We never see Daniel or Amanda going to see him, and Johnny missed the one chance Robby gave him to visit (I know he wanted to be there for Miguel and his family, but Robby had no one, Johnny should've visited Robby as soon as he dropped off the money). Meanwhile, Kreese visited him, what twice? Then, after getting out of juvie Robby goes to the only person that took the time to visit him. No wonder Robby stayed, he probably thinks Kreese is the only person to care about him.

I love, love these viewings. A good friend of mine was born and raised in Japan, and he always shares his culture with me, so I love hearing about it on these videos as well. He's been more Americanized, but his mother is more traditional. I do recall her making sushi, but she cooked the fish, and said that more traditional people from Japan don't like American fish so much, so they cook it often. Anyways, excited for season 4, and this season left off on a great note. I'm sure there will be conflict between Daniel and Johnny, but they're taking very slow steps towards reconciling.

Much of why Hawk had a change of heart was due to the following: First, Kreese recruited Kyler. The man that got Miguel and Eli into Cobra Kai in the first place. Then he recruited Robby, to get Johnny to come back. Which made Hawk feel demoted. Then when he saw his fellow Cobras wail on who used to be his friends he snapped out of it and went good. The reason why Demitri forgives him so easily is because he wanted his best friend back.

7:06 The age to get a license to drive a car in the US is 16. Speaking for myself (who grew up early 2000s American middle-class), my parents had two vehicles. I got my license at 16, and inherited my parents' oldest vehicle (at the time a '96 Jeep Cherokee) as they decided it was time to replace it. So at least in my experience, American middle-class culture can afford one vehicle for each parent, plus one for the nearly-adult children (my one older brother and I shared the inherited vehicle until we each became financially independent enough to afford our own).

Similar-ish in New Zealand, but it's more common to have just one "family" vehicle, and usually when you have two, the second is a work vehicle provided by the employer of one of the parents, not a family-owned one. Still tends to be the parents buying their nearly-adult child a first car before they're old enough to be truly "responsible" for themselves. Also technically you can get a licence here at 15, but it's a "learner" licence which doesn't let you drive unsupervised, and it's not until you have a "restricted" licence that you can drive alone. And that requires you to be at last 16, so similar to US age limit. I still think it would be more sensible to swap the legal ages for drinking and driving though - teaching kids to handle a ton of metal before they know how they respond to alcohol is irresponsible and stupid, in my opinion.

Poor kid has been betrayed in some way by pretty much everyone he cares about, so he turns to the only person who hasn't let him down: Kreese. Nobody ever warned him about Kreese, and Kreese made Johnny think he was going to go after Miguel so Johnny left Robby vulnerable. I have been waiting for your reaction to those particular moments. I have been waiting 18 mos. for Season 4. Glad you enjoy the Cobra Kai series Sensei! Robby stayed because Kreese has been the only one that (in his eyes) has been there for him, giving him the attention he seeks.

usually for Christmas we do stay home. The parties are just held prior to Christmas day. I love how Ali and Daniel's wife bond over the guys being uncofortable. I would totally be just sitting at the table with popcorn watching the cringe unfold. I love how the kids are getting over their differences far faster than the adults. Aiesha's folks put her in private school, sold their house and moved after the school riot. Think my favorite is Hawk seeing he's on the same side as the guy who tormented him and finally switching sides. Then he and Demetri cleaning house.

In the US Christmas day is generally spent at home with the family but the entire month of December is pretty much celebrated as Christmas. You'll celebrate it with friends and coworkers, usually the parties like in this episode are in the final week leading up to Christmas. That's why I think the Final Episode of S3 is called Dec 19th.

In America, Christmas is a season that pretty much starts December 1st. So, there’s lots of parties with friends and coworkers all the way up til Christmas Day. The 25th is mostly just for family though. But even then friends might stop by, or you might go see friends after spending the 1st half of the day with family.

I got my first car at 17 during my senior year. Worked all summer to save up. This was back when cars weren't terribly expensive. Christmas, for us, is spent mainly with family at home! We sometimes get together on Christmas Eve with extended family, or go downtown to look at lights.

Well, not EVERYBODY gets to go to a country club for a Christmas party, and you were right about Christmas being a time to spend with family, but Christmas is also meant to be a festive occasion on which many people go to parties like the one you saw in that episode, although they're usually not that fancy. Typically they'll be in a person's home, and will include lots of food, party games, and probably gift exchange, depending on what was agreed upon beforehand. There's a Christmas party game called "White Elephant" in which everyone brings a present, and then people take turns trading presents trying to get the one that they want. :)

Here in the UK - the cereal You are wondering about is called “Shredded wheat” and has very little added sugar (You can’t even taste that it’s even got sugar) You can have with milk and some people add Honey or blueberries. It is a very healthy cereal for breakfast

You should try Mongolian bbq. It's delicious! You chose whatever thinly sliced meats you want and as many sliced vegetables as you want. You can also add. You fill a small ceramic bowl with all of this and the cook takes it from you and dumps it on a big flat top grill. They season it and oil it up and kind of stir fried the whole thing, then they put it back in the bowl. It's delicious and there is a lot of it!

There's a video on KZfaq that shows how some of the stunts are done for the series. Some of those perfect kicks and flips are the result of wire work or some other aid that is removed from the scene in post-production.

@9:56 Christmas time is all encompassing. There are decorations everywhere, lights especially. Because nights are longer in winter, you see many Christmas lights, to light up the dark sky. The idea around Christmas time is to be very generous and share with your neighbors & co-workers. The act of exchanging gifts is spread throughout the month of December, but as for the day of Christmas (12-25), that day is reserved for spending time with your family. Almost everything is closed on 12-25, so people can be with their families.

I think the Christmas episode takes place on Dec. 19 on the show, so it's 6 days before Christmas. it's common to go to Christmas parties in the week leading up to Christmas--either at a friend's house, neighbor's house, neighborhood party, or a club you belong to.

The cereal is shredded wheat. Its old school. Bland on its own, and not Sweet. But cheap and filling. Its also healthy as its complex carbs. But there are things you can do to make it more palletable. Typically. I mix it with frozen berries and a little bit of sugar. The milk tends to become yogurt like on the berries. I also cut some bananas into it. For protein... What ever i got. You cal also do other things with it. Crush it, mix with a little peanut butter for a ghetto granola bar. Use it as a yogurt or ice cream topping with a little bit of chocolate sauce. Etc. Pretty versatile if you're creative

Not an American , but we're westernized enough to have some similar expectations and rituals. The run up to Xmas is usually (before the pandemic) spent attending parties: office, club, organization etc. On Xmas day you're home with the family. My take: the LaRussos have wealth and standing in their community, so they have to make an appearance at the country club, to renew connections, etc.

Most all the Christmas parties like they are at, are held before Christmas. Like a company Christmas party would be held the last day before they were let off for Christmas holidays or a School Christmas party would be held before the students were let go for the holidays. It's not actually on Christmas. Your right, Christmas is almost always at home.

I don't know if it's been said to you Yusuke-sensei, but it's better to watch Cobra Kai as a sort of live-action shonen highschool fighting anime rather than as a live action drama (a word which I understand holds different connotations in Japan). Because that's basically what it is-- high schoolers getting into fights that conspicuously lack a proportionate public/legal response, the special attacks, the adults being wayyyyyy way too invested in the conflicts of children, the children themselves being absurdly hypercompetent fighters, the constant heightened emotions, side-swapping, bad guys becoming good.... This is basically the same kind of thing as like, Tenjo Tenge, or Ranma 1/2, or Kenichi.

Yes it’s cereal, a fiber cereal, shredded wheat, the taste depends on the flavor they put on it, there’s some that don’t have any sugar so you have to add sugar if you want, some called Minnie Wheats that are smaller, some frosted Minnie wheats that one side are white with sugar, some have strawberries flavored or blueberries flavors

I had gotten my license at 17 years old. Most of my friends at the time had gotten theirs between 16-18 and a lot of kids at my high school had cars and would drive to school. I honestly think the driving age is so low because in the US, you basically need a car to get anywhere since things are so spaced out (unless you live in NYC) and teenagers still need to work.
