You and I are going to drink a lot of coffee together. Like, borderline dangerous amounts of coffee.
So, first things first. Pour yourself a mug and I’ll introduce myself real quick.
My name’s Jordan - but everyone calls me “J” - and I’m a 27th degree black belt in chugging coffee.
I’m also strength & nutrition coach, I hold several powerlifting world records, and I’ve been fortunate enough to have my writing featured in a variety of outlets like CNN, the Huffington Post, and Schwarzenegger.com.
But listen.
This channel isn’t for fame, publicity, cash, props, fist bumps, likes, pings, pows or whatever else there is.
It’s a place where you and I can chat.
I’ll never sugar coat, lie, or beat around the bush. I’ll tell you everything exactly as I see it. Some stuff you might like. Others you might not.
And that’s totally cool.
Either way, my goal here is to create a discussion. A place where you and I can get together, exchange ideas, and motivate each other to be better every day.
Like I said, we’re gonna drink a lot of coffee together - borderline dangerous amounts - but I’m excited. Because there aren’t too many online communities in which the sole purpose is to inspire and motivate one another.
And that’s exactly what you and I are going to do here.
To your success,
-J

Thank you Jordan. My sister did a carnivore diet for 3 months. She lost the few pounds she wanted to lose during that time, and was happy to have lost the weight. Once the few pounds were gone she went into maintenance using a more diverse diet similar to a Mediterranean diet, with olive oil, vegetables, fruits, carbs, meats - and has been monitoring her portions. I love the message you are sharing. I appreciate the effort and dedication you put in to research, and educating us.

As much as I love social media, it can be dangerous territory. Anyone at any time can say what they want without any repercussions, which means they can bring harm onto others. We need to be vigilant about what is being shared with us and what we choose to participate in. Thank you for spreading awareness and let us know what we need to look out for.

I agree 💯 with this and I followed this diet for a year in 2004 and lost 40 pounds. But woah was it hard to stay on long term. And I ended up gaining all my weight back plus some after stopping. My body didn't know how to eat normal foods without gaining for a long time. I'm back to normal now and following a calorie deficit atm because of you Jordan. 34 lbs down and happy.

You are so right. I did keto for years and shifted to carnivore but only for a couple of weeks my health got so worse I had a stiffness in my whole body and could hardly move the first couple of hours in the morning. After I went back to a balanced diet I am so energized and can move and train without any problems and all the stiffness is gone.

Great video! It's interesting how little is mentioned about hormones, especially testosterone, which is crucial for building muscles. For natural exercisers, the book 'You Are Stronger Than You Think' by Borlest has some useful insights on testosterone that could be helpful.If you're looking for a way to feel stronger, more energetic, and healthier, this book is for you. Carnies are coming for ya!!! 😂 When someone tries to make me feel stupid for eating pescatarian (plant based with fish) and not drinking alcohol because of my health, they usually say something like: "I want to enjoy life" or "We're all gonna die". I always come back with: "Ya well anyone can get hit by a car, but you got a much better chance of it if you go out and play in fucking traffic". They usually don't know what to say after that and the conversation changes Lol

I think what you’re saying is spot on until the end. Many people have food addiction issues like someone with substance abuse issues. For people like me having candy or cake is my drug of choice so I avoid all refined sugars. People don’t encourage alcoholics to have a healthy relationship with beer and just have it in moderation. They are told to never drink again to even avoid people and places that could trigger a relapse. I think it’s important to take that into consideration. Thank you

I have never done the carnivore diet but I did another one that required me to remove food groups from my diet. I did this for a year and lost a bunch of weight but the moment I "weened" back onto all of the foods groups, I had a hard time maintaining the weight lost and found that I still "should " not eat certain whole foods because they had too much sugar or were too high in calories, i.e. bananas. I also saw the doctor for a physical after, some of my numbers were great while some numbers which I never had problems with before were high. I am now following more of your philosophy on losing weight and I'm much happier, losing weight slowly, in the gym strength and mobility training and forming a great relationship with food.

No attacks from me, but I've been doing the carnivore diet for 15 months and so far I've lost 26 lbs out of a hopeful 50 altogether, but I've more importantly lost lifelong migraines, acne, and chronic constipation. I've tried to reintroduce a few veggies and berries and each time my rosacea comes back. I view carnivore as the ultimate elmination diet and I need to be slower reintroducing foods to find out what really does trigger my body into an inflammatory response. Other things that have disappeared are sensitive teeth, bleeding gums, symptoms of Raynaud's disease, plantar warts, plantar fasciitis, hayfever, and a lot of my hair that was grey is growing in my natural dark blond colour.

I agree with your position in this video, but i think it would help more to site actually studies done that can prove your point instead of just saying that there have been plenty of studies done. I understand that siting studies is boring and most people dont care but the truth is, people who follow carnivore diet always have one or two studies that they fall back on and again although i agree with your overall point, they are siting things, youre just mentioning the studies

An excellent video. Nice and logical and factual. Even in our stone age years, we ate mostly vegetarian. A seminal text on fibre is a book from the 70s called Taking the Rough with the Smooth. The author pointed out all of the African tribes who had a high fibre diet and NO bowel cancer. Until colonisation and the fibreless food they started to enjoy... ONE POINT re SMOKING, Jordan that isn't quite correct. There is NO healthy person who smokes. They may live for a long time, may appear healthy but you cannot be healthy and smoke. Your blood pressure and pulse will be higher, you are more likely to have more back pain, you will have an increased risk of getting cancer and other degenerative diseases. This has been well-researched and I also speak as an ex-nurse and working in Health for decades. So if you could address that somewhere that'd be great! NB You will have a very unhealthy bank balance too.... 😁😁😁😁😁😁👍👍👍👍

I eat a fairly balanced diet and get at least 50-60g of fiber a day but I get it all from fruit+ oats in the am (and the occasional fiber tortilla on days when I have a treat/pizza or something that doesn't have as much fiber). I just have such a problem with vegetables... I get horrid bloating and like the worst gas when eating vegetables.. like to the point I stopped eating them and decided to just get my fiber from fruits. I've tracked everything in chronometer so I know I'm getting all of the micros/etc I should be getting and take a few supplements as an insurance. I just always feel so bad that I don't eat vegetables and feel like I should. lol

I did the Carnivore diet starting March 2023 for 6 months. I lost 52 pounds (now 15% bf) All of my autoimmune issues went away, etc. I agree that it's probably not good/sustainable for long term, and it wasn't sustainable for me. Now, I eat some carbs everyday. I'm glad I did it. I've tried to lose that 50 pounds for 20 years. I've worked out for years, and I incorporate free days on the weekend. (I eat anything/as much as I want.) Just curious, have you done a video on how dangerous the Vegan diet is?
@dsha467
@dsha467 7 күн бұрын
Veganism is a lifestyle based on ethics and the belief that animals should not be harmed or exploited by humans. When vegans don’t eat animal products, it’s not because they’re on a diet. Perhaps you mean a "plant based diet". And its not even close to being dangerous.

First, if you start by saying “you are just wrong” I highly doubt you’ll be open minded enough to actually consider an opposing view point. With that said, here’s a few to start. And keep in mind, these are meta analyses of randomized controlled trials, the gold standard of research. 1) pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/15668359/ 2) academic.oup.com/nutritionreviews/article/71/12/790/1833415# 3) www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7646157/

Please can someone post links of some of the studies that weren't done on rodents? If you can find any studies that factored in the lifestyle, activity levels of the subjects. Alcohol intake, smoking habits, stress levels. occupation type and family life. I didn't see any indication of the subjects fatmass or musclesmass? I'm not a carnivore fanboy I've just seen big holes in the studies. Saying meat alone causes cancer is absurd. Remember our crops get sprayed with pesticides ... If anything is going to give you cancer, that'll do it. So what about the vegans? Causation and correlation needs to be factored in especially when making bold statements like this. It's also risky because the rate of cancers across the board directly corrolates with increased production of processed sugar? Is it meat ? Or is it Meat coupled with processed sugar? I'm going with the later ...
@missj1234
@missj1234 6 күн бұрын
He didn't say meat alone causes cancer. Where are you getting this from this video?? That's not at all what he's saying here. The point of the video was that WE KNOW for a fact that fiber has a plethora of health benefits and people should probably consume it. Another point was that we should probably consume more THAN JUST meat. Why limit ourselves when we have access so many different nutrients and foods. In not a single part of this video does he fear monger or tell people that certain things cause cancer.
